^It's a room that normally houses the equipment that's packed away in a box in the garage.

Most cameras (I think) attach metadata to the file which shows the information about the shot. In windows you can right click on the image and then go to summary tab and click the advanced button.(best to make a note of what you've set them to so you can repeat the effect)
I still think film over digital wins. You can crop out all the crap you don't want on digital, and tweak whatever isn't right.
In pure film, you have to frame it right, get everything right, focus it. Takes much more skill.
