lol...butrans wasn't making me comfy...I can take 8 yellow norcos and the only effects I'll "feel" other than pain relief is I'll get hot, constipated, and slightly stimulated lol...

and no...bread is one of my staple foods...I can handle that...

i've had 6 today(4 hrs. apart) and I have 2 left, and not a hope in hell of getting anymore for at least a week or two. But thats o.k., I believe I can handle it, if not....ER here I come. And I absolutly loath emergency rooms.:p
whats butrans?

No, I got drug by a car lol...
I feel you on the ER's...last time I went, I had to go for acute abdominal pain and acute panic attack (probably the worst one I've ever had)...I got shot up with morphine, ativan, phenergan, and protonix all at once, didn't feel a damn thing but relief, and they sent me home with 6 tramadol to be spread out over 3 days -.-...It was nice speaking with you too, Orchid...Have a good night. :)

how long should i wait before i call my doctor and tell him that my fentanyl patches aren't doing shit for my pain. i'm on the 3rd/last day of the 2nd patch. tomorrow i start the third. i was thinking give it a couple of days, and maybe call on tuesday. but shit, i don't know if i can wait. :(

i wish i could find a pain doctor like some of y'alls. mine doesn't even distribute pain meds. just does procedures and those already stopped working months ago. my PCP trys to google my rare pain condition and already said it was out of his league. this week i think i go to new doctors so i am hoping that they have a little more experience with pain treatment.

Do you guys see the doctor each visit at your pain or do you usualy just see the nurse. Since I started going in Jan I only saw the doctor the first 2 appointments and since then I have just see the nurse. She is ok most of the time but sometimes the way she treated me really pisses me off. I went off on a rant about her in this thread a while back after what happend. One of the many things she did that pissed me off was fliping out at me about "overtaking my hydros" saying I should only be taking 3 a day not 4 even though the doctor told me to take 4 and I was perscribed 120 which is 4 a day. Well a few appointments later she was asking what amount of each of my meds I was taking as was like " so your taking 4 hydros" and i said yes and she respond "ok that's the right amount" and continued asking about my other meds. Funny how she made such a big deal about me taking 4 and then tells me to take 4 a few appointments later.

I wish my pain cliinc would have me see the doc every appointment but I don't want to risk switching to one that will most likely undermedicate me. I am so happy I found a willing to give me a time release medication on the first appointment. The morphine has made a big differnce in my quality of life.

Hello people. This is my first post. I come here a lot to read about what others have done for their pain, and now I have a question. I finally decided to go to the pain clinic about a month ago for back pain. He told me to get a steroid injection and gave me a script for tramadol. The Injection didn't do anything and neither did the tramadol, so he told me to get another injection and gave me a script of gabapentin. I am still waiting for the second injection but the gabapentin isn't doing anything either. They told me to up my dose to 600mg X4, and when that didn't work they said they are going to switch me to Lyrica... So here is my question... None of these meds are doing squat and I was wondering if anyone has been down this road and could give me some advise on what meds might work. Why are they giving me so many things that don't do anything??? Any advise is greatly appreciated...

Hello and welcome!, I have had injections a long while back, they worked for a while, Tramadol does nothing for me either, but the gabupentin works for me and yes, I have been told only take up to 600mg a day and no more. Lyrica is fine if your insurance covers it but if not it quite spendy. I have been down this road for 18 years now and I have been on everything you can think of for my Fibro, I use Peracets 5/325, I take up to 5 a day is my limit depeding on my pain and with that I use 300mg of Gabupentin a day, and up to 20mg of valium and I use Amitryptline 75mg Only at night. Try to ask of a pain med whatever you think is best for you Vicodin or Norco seems the best these days for everyone. Instead of the pain clinic can you find a specialist perhaps they can help you and give you something that can help you. Out here if you dont have a specialist you dont get meds for anything. Good Luck and see what works for you. ~*Peace*~

I've got the leaflet that comes in my boxes of patches right here. it says that the prescribing doctor should start at the recommended dose and "titrate patients upward no more frequently than every 3 days after the initial dose or than every 6 days thereafter until analgesic efficacy is attained ".

WOW guys, I've missed a whole lot since I got on yesterday afternoon lol. This thread is super hot!! ;)

First of all, I want to welcome Wyldorchid. It's good to have you, and glad to see you're making friends here!

Doomed, I'm so sorry that the new drug ended up worsening your mental state. That certainly doesn't help on top of all your physical pain. Is there a chance that they could get you in any earlier, like if you tried calling every morning to see if there are cancellations? I know it would be a pain in the ass but just imagine if you managed to get in this week or something!?
Edit... The reason this looks so weird is because I realized that I double posted accidentally, and tried to fix it. I guess I sort of did but realize it looks very strange lol!

Good morning,y'all! Macd610, thank you for the warm welcome! I have been recieved with open arms and its truly wonderful. I hope that my experiences and knowledge that I've gained over the years can help someone, and that someones experiences can help me.
I've found Tramadol useless as well, not to mention the fact it has a risk of sezuries at pretty low doses (sp. not enough coffee) . Lyrica & gaba are only useful for nerve pain, but they made me all googly-eyed, and didn't do much for me.
A big 'Hooray!' for everyone with meds and a big 'sadface for those who don't. I have one Hydro left, and I'm hoarding it back like a rat with a jellybean. Maybe today won't be so bad, but its going to rain, so it will be nasty, I'm sure.
Pain clinics8( horrible places (not all of them, I'm sure)
dear phenethylo J, I had pretty much the same thing happen to me with a nurse and her high-handed crap over hydrocodone. She insulted me from top to bottom, and I had to take most of it, although, I did give her a whatfor when I left the practice. I swear, pain managment is like Game of Thrones, if someone isn't trying to take whats yours, their trying to leave you for dead.

Well I was stupidly found nodding in the middle of campus - so now I am truly fucked. Had to go to a local GP to get checked out and everything - make sure I was telling the truth about not injecting etc. No idea whats going to happen about the medicines though , I really fucking need them and its not my fault I have to source them illegally for fucks sake!

Been having extreme bouts of depression, suicidal idealation and then going into full blown manic party time mode :/ getting worrying

dear Mercc96, don't call yourself stupid, it was a mistake, thats all. Unfortunatly, your on their radar now, and will have to be more careful. Be safe<3

"Been having extreme bouts of depression, suicidal idealation and then going into full blown manic party time mode :/ getting worrying "
Are you manic depressive?Try a little sea salt with your food, it can help symptoms occasionally.

Not that I know of , I've always had periods of ups and downs but of course the opiates help with the depression. But I've never found myself pacing around my room at a million miles an hour talking to myself before , couldnt shut the fuck up in seminar either. Only thing I can remember almost being like this is when the stress from my last school just got too much and I tried to put my head through my wall.

Yikes! Sounds like your on one hell of a rollercoaster ride. Stress can kill, no doubt about that, and I am living proof that it can make you very, very sick. Are you at university? Whats your major, sweetheart? (and pay no attention to how I talk, I'm from the South and everybody down here is honey, sweetheart, baby, lovins ect. We're friendly mofos=D)

English literature , I came as prepared as I could. Then got arrested first night of freshers , the following day I drank enough alcohol to keep me drunk for 2 days and caused havoc in the halls ( I dont usually drink much) was also on xanax and diazepam at the time. So was already on the universitys radar and then the whole thing with being fucked up on morphine and clonazepam. Its been a BAD week. I don't think I've slept for 2 or 3 days ( can't remember) and I've gone through all the nitrazepam I brought so I am fucking screwed.

^ the whole drinking thing was caused by some devilish succubus that kept feeding me rum

Ahhh Lit! Love it, although very hard subject in some aspects. Devilish succubus,LOL! Sounds like you body needs some rest, a.s.a.p. I know this may sound silly, but, can you get ahold of some chamomile tea? A cup or two of that and a dark room may cue your body into a restful state. Not saying to go to sleep, although that would be optimal, but just to rest. Sometime very simple things can work. Also, a good meal....heavy on carbs, like turkey and mashed potatoes, gravy, some veggies and bread with the tea. And a hot bath. Put all the bad shit out of your head and tell your body,"O.K. power off." for awhile. what do you think?

I can't get an appointment any sooner you can't just ring you have to be reffered by your gp and then you get a letter through with appointment for the soonest available date. Im being seen at a private hospital if i was waiting for an nhs app it'd be 6 months before id be seen. My head is thrashed Im getting hallucinations again and suicidal ideation , wanting to self harm again and flash backs, nightmares and panic attacks it is horrible. Hope you are well today.

Wyld orchid I've not forgot about you, my phone crashed last night.

Hang in there d2p...I was fighting the urge to toss down 6,000mg of seroquel, 4,500mg of benadryl, 9,000mg of effexor, 36,000mg of ibuprofen, and 100,000mg of tylenol last night. If taking that much shit didn't expand my stomach to the point of rupturing, it damn sure would have killed me...
