samsonite, I have never felt any euphoria from my meds either, they barely touch my pain let alone make me feel good. Prochlorperazine (thorazine) is brilliant, I vomit alot due to my condition and it helps loads, it is also vert easy to obtain a script so I wouldnt worry about that. morphine never worked very well for my pain either, and caused a lot of problems for my stomach.

anyway I hope you manage to get some relief from your pain and nausea.

I can't msg you. I'm a newbie and it says I can only msg every 180 mins. I'm so sorry about your condition. That is absolutely horrible. I hope you have a SO to love and care for you so you do not suffer alone. If not, that is something these forums are great for... support <3

Also would throw out there Reglan, Tigan and Compazine although I do not care for compazine.

Some times zofran can be tricky with insurances, I know they have heckled me over dosage (4mg vs 8mg pills) and most insurances want to know why you actually need it (Its most common with pregnant women and cancer patients).

Reglan and Tigan are effective, but require swallowing which can be difficult when you are already nauseous. The great thing about zofran is it comes in orally disintegrating form, so you can put it under the tongue. Oh, and its flavored too! strawberry!

Doomedtopain Hello there, i just skipped ahead after reading your post number 637 on this thread & omg i was gobsmacked. I hate to get all soft & whatever but i really feel bad about your condition & it makes mine look like a bee sting in comparison. I mean i could live without analgesics, but live badly. But you omg.

I wanted to say, although i am overstepping here but it sounds like you may be over medicated. Your stomach for instance. I too have chronic acid reflux & oft wake up choking on acid. But those proton-pump-inhibitors can make things worse in the long run. You mention food rotting in your belly for days, that's bad. You're likely badly deficient in vital nutrients & it sounds like you may need vitamin injections.

Also you mention 4 grams of apap. Could you cut that out? What's the worst that could happen if you did? The acetaminophen will be, basically buggering your digestive system & liver. I have a degree in human nutrition & it may benefit you to see a dietician. Please consider this.

Again i know this is out of line ( i was on citalopram for 3 months, venlafaxing for 2 ) but do you think you could live without the antidepressants? I'm thinking that with tramdol i imagine you've had this, but maybe you could kill two wretched birds with one stone: the effect tram has on serotonin & norepinephrine could give you that energetic feel good factor & help a little with the pain (did you know back in the 40's & 50's doc gave codeine for depression!)

One last thing & this is just another suggestion no judgment, have you tried nerve blocks?

Man i just read your post & it made me wish[/I i knew how i could help you so, so much.

Okay, as for me i just saw my doc today & it's looking good; he gave me a weeks worth of 30 mg dihydrocodeine & has said when i go cold turkey off the methadone he'll be willing to write me up a script for the 90 mg DHC continus (slow release dihydrocodeine) I AM RELIEVED!

Dihydrocodeine has always been the best painkiller for me, i mean i've tried morphine that i bought illegally but they're too addictive & your tolerance goes up waaay to quick & frankly i like the high it gives which we all know aint great when you're trying to control chronic pain. But back in 2008 i had this jolly old doc, who sadly retired because of a stroke, he was a wonderful doc, best i've ever seen He would give me the 60 mg DHC continus & they're the best you get like 8 hours of pain relief which is ideal.

So my doc said he'll review me in a weeks’ time & then he'll decide whether or not he'll give me the 90mg DHC but it's looking like a sure thing.

I've always found Phenergan extremely effective, and when I began a trial of morphine early on in my pain management, my MD gave me a prescription for it ...apparently under the impression that the morphine would cause me to be sick.
SO, Apparently there is no discomfort in that area :)
Tri, other than the regular, pretty much identical information I find about Nucynta compared to other drugs on the internet, have you heard of anything else? Is there a good reason why it's expensive? ?

JKtm Hello! I too suffer epididymitis!!! I have an epididymal cyst that causes me chronic pain! Jesus this is the first time i've heard of another who suffers chronic pain from this.

I've had it years & when i became sexually active at 17 (late bloomer ; ) it started to cause significant amount of pain due to the, ehem, motion involved in a good hard shag.

Last year at the age of 22, & having been on pain meds since 2008 at age 19, i had an "aspiration" where basically you get a local anesthetic then a large needle is inserted into the cyst & the fluid is drained hence making the cyst go away & relieving a lot of pressure.

Well the first two days it hurt still then after that i was cyst & pain fee & over the moon... then 10 days after aspiration i noticed it was returning & man let me tell you it fucking hurt bad. Like imagine sqeezing you testicle as hard as you could possibly bare, then sombody else takes over & sqeezes even harder. That's how it feels. Also the pain radiates to the seminal vesicle, sort of near your bladder. It SUCKS.

It takes a lot of convincing to a doctor that this actually bloody well hurts because many people get these without pain, but others do too. I read about one guy who had it as bad as me & was on vicodin & oxycodone, the lot. It took me so much bother to get a doctor to take me seriously. The first guy was a twat who spoke rudely to me - he's been my gp since i was like 6 or 7 when i first moved to england from singapore. So when i came in at age 19 after not seeing him for about 5 years he automatically thinks 'oh here's another kid looking for some pills to get high'.

After trying gabapentin that other one pregabalin i think it's called, naproxen i decided to switch to another gp. This guy was the best doctor ever. Friednly had true empathy for me pain did full examinations referred me to a urologist & scripted me co-codamol 30/500. These helped but didnt do much so he put me on DHC continus - slow release dihydrocodeine.

Then the guy had a stroke & retired. Such a shame i wished that guy could have spent the rest of his life treating me & others.

So i go through it all again. This doc i have now is quite good; he's beena doc since 1978 & is a bit jaded but is a total pro. He put me, reluctantly on tramadol & co-dydromol which led to a serious problem of abuse & i wound up buying morphine off dealers & then tried heroin. Only did it a dozen or so times but got myself on methadone in april this year.

But now i'm reducing my dose of methadone. I take amitriptyline too which potentiates the analgsic properties of the methadone, but basically 'cos i'm on a potentially lethal he's wanting to get me off the amitriptyline slowly & as he knows i'm reducing the methadone & i've built up a trust rapport with him he's scripted me 30 mg dihydrocodeine & in a month he'll review my condition & has said he'll think about gving me the DHC continus which will be ideal.

So JK look into it man, see a urologist & explain to your doc in as much detail how much this is botheriing you.

Yeah prochlorperazine aka compazine or buccstem is the best antiemetic anti nausea med i've taken, better than phenergan ime.

Doppleganga, thanks for sharing that. Nice to see other UK people here - I've had similar problems with being a young guy getting scripted opioids (mentioned it a bit here, as do some others).

I also just wanted to say I really appreciate this thread. I started writing a long question about how I'm struggling with my own meds, but in writing it what I need to do became clear to me. Without the space to ask, though, that wouldn't have happened.

Thanks for mentioning this drug, I've never heard of it! It's always good to have that kind of thing around, and I am low on phenergan. I'm gonna see if I can try this out for sure.

Thanks for the advice doppleganga...

It doesn't bother me all the time and it's not always severe, but on occasion it can be really bad...hurts just to hang down...I never know if I should stay in the boxers to give it freedom, or go for the boxer-briefs to keep it from moving around so much lol...I just remembered reading that I should wear loose clothing, but letting it move around is painful too lmao...

My main pain stems from my spine/back problems...

My neck is always killing me, but my MRI came back completely normal...getting those results made me go hysterical to the point that I asked to be put on something for anxiety and depression...it's just like..."what the fuck is wrong with me? why do I hurt like this if it looks perfectly fine?" I guess my neck hurts so badly from the kyphosis pushing my thoracic spine forward so my neck is always making a 75-90 degree turn so that my head can be held up...I dunno though...I'm in so much pain though, I'm just kinda hoping for a terminal diagnosis of some sort, so that it will end soon...

that's bad, I know, and I know this is probably TDS shit, so I apologize, but the past few weeks, different ways of ending things just keep popping up in my head...dousing myself in gasoline and striking a match...waiting til I turn 21 and getting a bottle of crown black and a handgun (although, I guess I'd have to wait a week)...getting a shotgun the next time I have the cash to do so (Hemingway method)...ordering some syringes, and getting enough MS-Contin/other opioid...getting super throwed and slitting the wrist in the tub...throat has been considered as well...jumping off a high building...getting arrested and going to the biggest, baddest fucker and using whatever racial slur necessary to keep the blood of my hands lol...a few others have also been considered but those are the ones that stand out the most...

I would have to do this in a public place though...can't bear the thought of anyone in my family finding me...it's pathetic...my APD/SAD is so bad I can't do what I want to do because of how it would affect the people I know...sorry for the emo-ish post...just felt like I needed to get this out and tell someone...don't really have anyone I can tell in RL...feel a little better getting it out...sorry if this shouldn't go here...

On the prochlorperazine though...is that one difficult to get a doc to hand out? When I call my doc about it, they just call in promethagan suppositories and tell me to rub them on my stomach...those aren't working anymore...last time I had them, I was rubbing 3 on my stomach (with about 20 minutes in between) and was still nauseated...75mg of promethazine and my nausea was still there...wtf?

Yeah I've tried compazine, thorazine, promethazine, ondasetron, Tigan, Reglan, and also have tried all of the over the counter nausea meds with not much luck, except the RX's with thorazine and ondasetron

I am precribed prochlorperazine every month, never had a problem. I am in the uk so cannot comment on the states, but personally I cannot see why not, Im pretty sure it isn't abusable.

Funny, last night i felt really dizzy & nauseated & couldn't relx properly depiste some lorazepam. After 5 mg of compazine it was good medicine & i hit the hay quite comfortably - It seems thiozines & benzos work together well.

As it happens i'm reeling pretty rough myself. I'm trying to resist but i think a couple of DHC should help this day function.

I too am curious about levorphanol as I am kind of at a point where my PM doc will either increase my ER meds (Methadone 20mg x 3) or change my IR meds (Oxycodone 30 x 4hrs) but will not increase my Oxy as he thinks above 180 Oxycodone's effectiveness has not been proven in studies. So I am curious about anything else out there that people have tried that compares in analgesia?

I've actually tried levorphanol once a few years back. I didn't try enough to get a really really good high but it was enough to "feel it" and it was nice to say the least. Superb painkiller too. Better than methadone, oxycodone and hydrocodone IMO. I'd also say it is better than hydromorphone (at least orally it is).

Likely the latter. ^ Please take it easy. Imagine the hassle you'd get & How that's gonna feel if you were to "attempt" sucicide.

i have attempted suicide 5 times in less than a year and have not received any better treatment. I now have a good psychiatrist at last.
