Man oh man, I came by 3 OG OC 80's the other day, I decided to swallow one, boy do they bring back memories and they kill the pain so well, unlike the OP which did nothing for me but tear up my stomach. I should probably save the last OC and put it in my safe. It pisses me off what they did to them, turned a scuesful pain killer into crap because of people who abused them, same with the Opana's. At least when everything turns to shit we still have good ol' Morphine to turn too, not that I want that.

Yeah we still get the old school OC's in my country. It's nice, they work well, I like that you can chew them when you want them to act immediately or just use as intended.

I highly agree, the new opana's suck!

I agree about the "at least we still have good ol' Morphine to turn to"

Yep. I'm on the 20s. Just a question, did the Purdue ones also have a distinct smell/taste when you sucked chewed them ? wondering if the smell/taste is the oxycodone itself or just the way it's made.

I was prescribed it back in college... I didn't really like it though. It really worked for shooting nerve pain, but it fucked with my head a little too much. Made me feel dissociated and confused to a certain degree, possibly even messed with the ole happiness transmitter, our good friend serotonin (not in a good way). This is just my experience of course. I think unless you have serious nerve damage/pain then you might be better off without it. You say "try it again", did it not work well and/or did you have negative side effects before?

Yeah I've tried gabapentin in the past and pregabalin too extensively. My pain is not coming from nerve damage, which is why I am surprised my PM doc advised it. I asked for muscle relaxers to replace the Soma they took me off and they offered me methocarbamol, cyclobenzaprine (ew), gabapentin (??), baclophen, zanaflex.

None of these are a good substitute for carisoprodol IMO

Yeah, Oxycodone itself is bitter.

I think the dr play a sick joke with prescribing gabapentin. They know it decreases opiate levels and they try to give you the drug when your on opiates. I hear they give you a buzz but it's short lived. Idk. I would take it for opiate wd if I had too.

really? that is insane! i have been on it for a year. plus opiates.

I'm so desperate for my new pain specialist to treat me I think I might take my Dad with me. It has helped before with other doctors so I think I will give it a go.

I do that as much as possible.

I was a little wrong. It decreases hydrocodone levels. Increases morphine and doesn't say either way with oxy. Those were the ones I checked. But still in my case I think the dr was trying to mess with me.

Hmm, I take oxy not hydro, but I don't think I want to be taking anything that decreases the level of another opioid, and oxycodone is pretty close to hydrocodone soooo yeah, I'll err on the side of caution.

Hey hows everybody doing? Correct me if I am wrong but they prescribe vallium for bad muscle spasms?

I was supposed to have an appointment with the specialist and it didn't come through. Panicking and wondering why.

What do you mean, "didnt come through"? They called and made you re-schedule?

yeah they do, but that's really the worst medication to rely on long-term for muscle spasms.

Yeah they called and we had to reshedule, and whats a good medication? I was looking into palates to help my back out too. jeez advil doesn't do shit for my back.

Pilates will help.

Well it depends, what kind of spasms are we talking about here?

What's the cause? I'm currently taking methocarbamol (Robaxin) and it's a skeletal muscle relaxant. There are others like Skelaxin, Zanaflex, Baclofen, etc, each have draw backs and benefits.

I don't think diazepam (Valium) is a good decision at least not as first line treatment, and certainly not for long-term or regular use unless absolutely necessary and your doctor thinks the benefits outweigh the risks.

When they untethered my spinal cord it was stretched 5 sections . So its like I am going through a huge growth spurt in a tiny ammount of type.
