NO LISTING OR ASKING FOR SOURCES

Read the OD Guidelines. The link is in my signature.

And just so you know, quoting the link doesn't help us at all, and is almost as bad as posting it originally. You're just spreading it even more than a single post would, and making more work for the staff of the forum.

To the person who reported it, thank you. You know who you are. I appreciate you doing the right thing.

I apologize, won't happen again.

i have thought about that alot lately. how this reform will affect buying pharms illicitly.

it is hard to tell cuz ppl on this forum in the UK and kinda the rest of europe seem to have trouble gettin good opiods, maybe this is b/c of universal health care and doctors being able to look at everyones past but even in canada they have universal health care and most canadians on this website still talk about oxy and HyMo and shit so who knows.

it is interesting to think about though

Damn tolerance to opiates makes nothing besides oc work really. Im not hooked on it by any means havent done any oc in almost 2 weeks now but for some reason on sept 5th when they come around again i know my tolerance wont change for shit! I used to be able to do a 10-20mg line n be just great now ill do 20 and just be alright. Shit last time i did we where just blowing 40 lines by the end of the bender. I guess maybe the problem is that ill use oc for 3-4 days not heavily. Then ill stop for 3 weeks n bam tolerance is the same damn level...

Switch from Percocet to Oxycontin + Percocet Questions/Advice Needed

So I visited my doctor today - - - -
I'm kind of nervous about what he RX-ed me, so I wanted to know if anyone had any similar experiences and perhaps, could share their thoughts with me.

I am currently prescribed 2 - 7.5/325 percocets 4x daily (have been on percocet for about 2 years constant).

The doctor has now switched this to 2 - 20mg oxycontin continuous release daily, plus 1 - 7.5/325mg percocet 4x a day - for breakthru pain daily.

Has anyone had experience with the two medications together?

I also would like to know how the Oxycontin CR is..... Is there any euphoria to it? Will the percocet increase it? Does it make you sleepy? How often does it REALLY last? Becuase as with percocet - they say 4-6, but it really only lasts 1-2 MAYBE 3 in the very beginning.... Will taking a perc here and there throughout the day give the euphoric feeling, being as it adds to the Oxy CR? Even if I am used to taking 15mg VS 7.5? I think you guys get what kind of information I'm looking for here - basically how they interact and how OXY CR effects you....

I've only heard rotten things about Oxys and I have never taken them and I'm honestly kind of against it, BUT my doc said "it's not anything worse than what you're taking already, it's just a continuous release" - anyways - I am really looking for anyone who's taken the 20mgs CRs, taken percs and oxy CRs together, or similar situation as me....

Any advice or predictions on how this will work are welcomed..... Any advice or experience as well.....

Thanks guys!!

You know they are both the same exact drug, right? So what exactly are you worried about?

One time when I broke my leg I was on oxycontin 2x/day and percocet every 4-6 hours, pretty much the same exact schedule as you. So I've done it too. Hows that?

Again: Oxycontin is exactly the same as percocet. You can't be against oxycontin and not against percocet. Same drug, slightly different amounts.

I understand it's the same, just CR. The horrible things are more often said about OC than percocet. Guess that is what made me nervous.

But does a Oxycontin CR 20mg give you a euphoric feeling? Or no, because it's 20mg over a span of time.....?? Does the percocet, even if a smaller dose, push the euphoric feeling? I'm really just wondering if there will be the euphoric, fuzzy feeling that I *SOMETIMES* get with percocet.... rarely tho anymore now-a-days....

So what was your expierience with taking them both together? Did you have any euphoria? Did it last as long as it says it should? Do you really feel it working for those 12 hours??

20mg of oxycontin will give you the same feeling as 20mg of percocet.

That is, one 20mg oxycontin = two and two-thirds 7.5mg percocet. (ignoring the time release, which makes it last 8-12 hours depending on a persons metabolism)

THEY ARE THE SAME, EXACT THING. Does percocet give you euhporia? Then oxycontin will too. Its that easy.

Finally, the reason you hear more bad things about oxycontin is simply because oxycontin comes in pills up to 80mg (and used to come in 160mg), which are huge amounts of drugs, thus highly abusable, thus they get the most attention.

The feeling will be exactly the same. Its the same. The same. Same drug, no tylenol, with a time release. Both oxycodone. Just different formulations.

Ok sorry for asking this again, but you wrote - "ignoring the time release", what does that mean?

I just want to know if it will give me the same euphoria even tho it is continuous release? I would assume it would NOT, because it is 20mgs over 12 hours, instead of 20 mgs all at once..... Is there something I am not understanding??

And I completely understand its the SAME thing, I am just wondering if the "continuous release" version makes it hit you LESS than taking 20mgs of percocet....

I understand 110% that it is the SAME thing, I just want to know HOW the continuous release works, like in my last post, I would ASSUME it would be weaker, because it is 20mgs over 12 hours instead of all at once.... And I don't understand how something UNDER the amount that my normal dose is - would give me euphoria? If 15mgs of percocet give me euphoria (sometimes), how can 20mgs of it OVER 12 HOURS give euphoria. It seems like it would dispense a little over 1 mg per hour.... NO? Is there something I'm missing here????

Well this forum isn't about euphoria, its about harm reduction. It sounds like you're mostly concerned with whether or not your new meds will get you sufficiently high, and I'm sad to say that I have no further information to give on that subject.

I will politely bow out now. Someone else will probably come along and assist you with the rest.

Doesn't the answer seem obvious?ofcourse it wont come on as strong as instant release Oxycodone.if you're using it for pain and you still get euphoric from percocet it shouldn't really matter.just do some searching around, you'll find everything you need to know about Oxycontin on bluelight.but again if the percocet get's you high, then just take the Oxycontin as prescribed and it should just add to it.It is pretty hard to use Oxycodone for pain without catching a buzz.(If you have no/low tolerance)

Lucky guy, wish I still got high on percocet...I gotta CWE 50 or so of the 5/325's to catch a buzz these days :(

Thanks Ontario - for some reason the other guy wasn't understanding my questions.

Johanneschimpo - "Euphoria" is part of harm reduction. The euphoria definitely helps my pain, I don't take this stuff for fun. You are speaking to me like I'm some kind of junkie and you don't even know me. I don't know why you have hositility towards me, since reply one you've been making jabs at me. I just wanted an few responses from ppl who've been in the same situation as me. I wanted to know if it worked as effectively as what I was on before. The euphoria is SO helpful when dealing with the medical conditions I have. You really have no right to speak to me the way you have, I haven't said anything terrible to you, I just wanted some advice from the community. Perhaps you should go respond to a thread about people taking the pills with potentiators and go bash them.... I am asking this because I am prescribed them for severe pain, I'm not asking because I take them recreationally.

^ You're blowing things out of proportion. I came in and graciously answered your questions since no one else had. I gave you correct answers but you kept asking the same question(s) repeatedly. Then when it appeared euphoria (not pain relief, euphoria) was your main goal, I lost interest (I see now there is more to it).

Although it may be the case for you, around these parts we don't consider euphoria to be a part of harm reduction. You may not take them recreationally but you do seek out recreational effects. To me thats somewhere inbetween therapeutic and recreational use. Sure its natural to enjoy the feeling even if you are taking it for other reasons, but in your post I just saw "euphoria euphoria euphoria" and only a passing reference to "pain." Its not personal; its my view on these issues applied to your post.

Anyway, for the record, I wasn't judging you as a junkie nor was I being hostile. You probably just aren't familiar with the way I type. If I was "angry" or "didn't like you," I wouldn't have answered your questions in the first place.

So, I have no hard feelings, but if you do, I can't stop them. If you'd like I'll refrain from helping you with your questions from now on.

well u got the Rx for it, all you have to do is pick them up and see how good it works. then and only then will you know.

Hey bro, what part of SC are you in?

OC lasts 6 hours or so when taken properly for me, for friends of mine with chronic pain who take a lot of opiates they say it only lasts 4. However we are talking way more than 40mg a day here...

I don't see how you figure he was bashing you bro - as far as your situation: I've had the oc XRs (the new ones like the big blue xanax xr - you'd need a solid chemistry setup to break the time release, no more two seconds in your mouth and spit). They helped w/pain but what I think you will find is that when you take them you won't feel it as strongly, BUT, adding in the percs you have scripted for the flare up will be bolstered by the originating long acting source of oxycodeine in you already. I've had this affect w/alot of the new XRs that are harder to get around.
