Opioids **The Oxycodone Mega Thread.** - Can't find your thread? Its in here.

8 days into OC withdrawals is pretty damn good. Hang in there, the insomnia should get better each day. The only other thing you have to worry about is post acute withdrawal symptom (PAWS).

Thnks for all the advice you all Ill try the seroquil tnite and pray I can last a few more days. I realize a lot of u have been in the same boat

You can do it man, if you need anyone to talk to just hit me up or post about your problems in this thread. Most regulars here have been addicted to opiates in various shapes and forms. There's plenty of people to help you out. Don't give up man.

That sucks that even benzos are not helping your insomnia! My hydro habit was at about the level of your oxy habit, and when I had access to them, benzos were always something I could count on to at least help me to sleep through some of the worst of the w/ds. When I kicked for good a year ago, I didn't have any benzos, but would have given my right eye for some.

Are you dpong this kick while still trying to work/function normally during the day? If not, just stay up till you can't stay awake anymore! Forget about sleeping till it catches up with you. Read, surf the net, watch movies, etc., till you feel yourself becoming sleepy, even if you are awake 24 hours or more. (If you are working or have any other responsibilities, this is obviously not going to work for you.)

Since I had no benzos to help me sleep during my w/d last year, I resorted to chamomile tea. I didn't have much faith in it, but I was amazed that it really did help my body to relax so I could get a little more sleep than I would have otherwise. Celestial Seasonings markets one called Sleepytime, and that is what I used. I would use two bags per cup, and would let it steep a good 10 minutes before drinking it. It is very tasty and it helped me immensely. I still drink it to this day.

The above suggestions of exercise are also good. That is the best thing ever for w/d, along with Imodium.

I hope you are feeling better and able to sleep soon. 9-10 days out, you ought to be getting past the worst of it about now. Feel free to PM me if you run out of other people to PM! :)

Best wishes and God bless.

xo Justine

I'm currently getting over a ≈160-200 mg oxy or 15 bag of Heroin 4-7 days a week. also tried suboxone (worst decision ever- kept me functional through 1 semester in college, tried to quit-should have just spent spring break kicking the OCs/H.) Made the decision to purposefully relapse to give my system a bit more time to clear itself of the box. I'm on day 18, doin well overall but still kicking. Clonidine,K-pins, and wellbutrin have helped tremendously although I as well receive no help sleeping with any of the aforementioned rx's. My particular cause for insomnia is RLS- just received an rx sample for "Requip". Last 2 days are the first full nights reset I've had in weeks. My doc tried my on a couple atypical antipsychotics (such as seroquel) against my advice...but of course few docs will even consider I know what I'm talking about-wound up with akathesia (sp.) lasting three days after taking Abilify. Same with all the others. Ambiem works well for me, though the docs don't wnat to prescribe it fearing abuse (though they hand out benzo's like candy)....

My advice, stay away from antagonists of any sort. OTC sleep meds exacerbate the restlessness (if you're goin through what I am) and do not drink alcohol of smoke cigs except for earlier in the day- both make rls/insomnia worse IMO. (It takes me a shitload of booze to crash out and I'm lucky to get an hour or 2 rest before I wake up feeling like Michal J. Fox (bad joke-but I've had periods so intense they were best described as Parkinsonism < a listed side effect of anti-psychs and occasianaly opiate W/D>)

^ great point. I forgot to mention even diphenhydramine can make RLS worse in some. I've kicked a 200+ oxy habit and RLS was the worst part for me too. The first few days I end up laying awake curled into a ball just watching the sunrise. It sucks but its the price we pay.

Not sure how it works for other people but weed always helped me with insomnia during opiate withdraw. My habit wasn't quite as big as yours but it still helped.

I have found that exercise is the best way to make your body so tired that you can't stay awake anymore. Nicotine helps me if i smoke a cig right before i goto sleep the nicotine buzz I get will sometimes put me to sleep, but not for long....

I was thinking that a small glass of wine or beer or a shot of spirit early afternoon (2pm or something) usually makes me feel tired. It's all about the time that you ingest it as to whether it will help you sleep or keep you awake. But if others have suggested against it then maybe I'm wrong to suggest it.

Valerian tea - Lots of it.
Valerian and Hops Tablets - Lots of them. That should help the sedatory effects of Benzos increase.
Definitely try the Seroquel.
Basically mix as many sleep aids together as you can. Diphenhydramine along with the Benzo should stop the potential of it making your RLS worse.
Exercise - very good idea. Again, this should be done early afternoon instead of late at night.
Large doses of Loperamide might help some. It depends on you personally if it will help or not. It'll atleast stop the god-awful diarrhea.
As suggested, Weed might help. A good Indica rather than Sativa perhaps.
Warm milk as well as the Melatonin.
Try get some Clonidine from your Doc - Should help with the cold sweats (another personally worst part of the whole sleep thing) and it should sedate you a bit.

And like everyone else said, you're so so close to it getting better. Fucking well done for getting as far as you have mate :) Good luck! Keep it up.

Capsacin (sp?) is the chemical you speek of. I did read something about this not to long ago. The thing is this shit comes and goes all the time. Every 3 months or so they say they are making "abuse proof" oxy and they never do. It wouldn't be just for insuffalation either. The idea supposedly works on IV users as well which I imagine would be worse.

...or plugging hahaha. Ow.

Where's all the info about smoking oxy? Just did this last night for the first time and to me it's a complete waste. Smoked 80mg, would have rather just busted it, but it wasn't mine so w/e...

Here's what I'm expecting:
Smoke is more tinfoil fumes than drugs.
Opiates don't vaporize at a temperature achieved by a Bic lighter, so you're wasting the pill.

AMIRITE?!

^You cant tell people that they have wasted their money for the past year or w/e. People just cant accept that they beleived the hype so they would rather say it fucks them up.

I wonder if Oxys WERE made completely abuse-proof, how much their value (as in stocks, and as a product to the pharmys).

I suspect quite a few people would request that they got switched meds.

I've used : Oxycodone, Meperidine, Codeine, Morphine recreationally and I vastly prefer oxycodone to the rest.
It's my favorite opiate, I notice with it a stimulating like effect, kind of like a small line of cocaine type effect. It also causes alot less nausea, itching and constipation then the classical morphine types for me, which I can't stand.
I actually only need about 10 mg orally to get me off, but i'd usually have a low dose benzo in me at the same time.
Oxy is bomb for sure.

I agree and think most people would 'cuz Codeine and meperidine (demerol) are very, very, VERY weak (oxycodone is like 10 times stronger I believe, sorry don't have an equivalency chart up). The codeine and thebaine derivatives (oxycodone, hydrocodone) tend to more "speedy" than the morphine ones. I prefer the strong morphine derivatives: hydromorphone, diamorpine (heroin) and oxymorphone. I love that dreamy, sleepy feeling! But OCs are great and abundant in my state.

Just have to weigh in on a topic up thread. I too don't understand why people flip if they can't get, say, an OC 80 but roxi 30s are available. They're still pure (as in no tylenol, aspirin or ibuprofen) and IMO way easier to deal with. Whether you're shooting, eating or snorting there's a lot less work involved because there's a lot less bs filler. Ugh, just thinking about OCs and the time release matrix irks me! The only time i'd get a time release pill over an instant release is if there was a decent difference in price.

What do you consider a decent price difference?
Cause I get my generics (the ones that gel) for 50% of the cost of the purdue (legit) OC's.

(No prices here, just a comparison.)

I'm talking about street prices. With my own 'scripts I always go generic because of the huge difference in price you noted. Unfortunately, everyone's favorite local dealer charges the same whether its generic or brand name. Where i'm from, I get a better deal with oxycodone IRs than the time release. So with prices equal, i'd always go with the instant release (less filler). If the oxycontin ended up being cheaper, though, I would obviously get it.

But i'm just speaking as a recreational user looking for a buzz. Time release pills are too much "work" (scraping the coating, grinding it into powder, heating and removing gel if used IV) than the instant release and, well, i'm lazy! ;)

Hey, I've been searching around this site and others and I can't seem to find much on the time release mechanism for purdue OCs.

How much oxycodone is generally released per hour? Do they really last 12 hours when taken properly?

Also, I read that the time release still works when you break the pills? Is this true? I'm not talking about crushing it, just cutting one in half or something.

I'm trying to make my OCs last until I get some more. Funny that I've been using OC for years on and off and this is the first time I have actually tried to use the time release.
