Opioids **The Oxycodone Mega Thread.** - Can't find your thread? Its in here.

ah, yes, removing the coating is key. That wax shit will just clog you up. Try it again without it, although I dont think it will make that much of a difference (its still good to remove it though). Try 25mg instead, maybe even 30mg if you feel you can handle it based on your recent experience with 20mg. Or, just redose with another 15mg. Redosing isnt as effective, and its often better off to just wait till you come down and try to get high again, with a clean slate, but if you feel you must, you can redose.

oxycontin patent

so has purdue pharms lost its case that was supposed to take generics off the market?

Last Month Was It For Generic OXYCONTIN

I called every pharmacy you can think of

CVS
Brooks
Walgreens
Target
Wallmart
Stop & Shop
RiteAid
Osco
Medical Centers

And they all said bascially the same thing. Purdue won the law suit and we've been given out generics that we've had in stock but most of them are out so NO MORE GENERCS. CVS, Rite Aid, Walgreens, Walmart all said they will ONLY be caring Purdue Pharma name brand from now on. Its going to cost more but atleast there wont be any of those Impax (with the G logo) Teva (Foot balls) etc..

My question is insurance still going to cover my Oxycontin, i meant there is NO generics availiable i think that they have to. Obviously its going to be more money but thats ok.

consider me a beginner, but i don't understand how generics can be considered so much worse than the real stuff. other than the size of the pills (extra matter up your nose or what not), can the high really be different?

^
I don't have first-hand experience but apparantly some of the generics gel up so bad that it's impossible to completely defy the time release mechanism causing a less intense / more drawn out high

i found out that if i mix percocets with warm water and drink it, i can feel the effects in 10 to 15 minutes. It usually takes me around 30 to 45 minutes to feel it.

Im surprised it made such a difference, even if i chew them up a little and swallow they dont hit me that fast. Ive also done this twice and both times didnt eat anything 3 hours before i took them. anyone else do this?

I used to be prescribed oxycontin and found that the teva brand generics are not only bigger, but like bingeboy mentioned, they turn in to a gel when they come in contact with moisture. It majorly clogs up your nose making it substantially less effective and pretty nasty as well. I have also tried the ABG generics which for me seemed pretty much identical to the name brand ones although I only had the name brand once because my pharmacy ran out of generics.

Generic Mallinkrodt Oxy Questions

Hi all, yes I have used the search function but it seems to be a bit vague (a bit of a grey area if you will) as to whether or not these pills (10s, 20s, 40s, and 80s) made by mallinkrodt contain the wax matrix or any other anti-abuse methods.

I know the majority of mallinkrodt's pharm's are complete crap but since they made a specific deal with Purdue for a limited distribution time frame I was hoping they would specify how exactly they would be chemically created.

Has anyone had any luck railing/IV'ing these things? Also, what about the Malli "OxyIR" 5mg tabs...same question.

Thanks in advance :)

I'm still surprised that the wax matrix hasn't become the "gold standard". You know how those pharmacutical assholes like to fuck with us junkies.

I never seen the Mallinkrots but damn I used to love those capsules.... I remember the day when I could take two of those and be in high heaven.

i got the 5mg mallinkrdt ones prescribed. theres no wax matrix just like the roxys and u can snort them very easily. iver never had the capsules but if u get um prescribed u may want to look into the ethex brand oxy. theyre harder to crush and dont taste very good but to me they are actually noticably stonger than the mallinkrodt. ive read the mallinkrodt generics carry the fda regulated amount which for 30mg pills is actually about 27 or something. i dont know what the change is for 5mg pills but to me if ur insurance covers it why not get the better one. or get some of one and some of the other and see which u prefer

Greenadam, do you know if the ER "oxycontin" tabs contain the matrix? I am scripted both the ER and IR and the 5s would be a ton of powder for a shot.

^ I've had the 5mg IR's before. I agree there would be too much powder if you had to shoot more than 15-20mg's. I never shot them for that reason (It would've took 20 of those pills for me to get a good shot, waaay too much powder to deal with.)

I think all current forms of Oxycodone ER contain some form of wax matrix (except for the Purdue's of course). I might be wrong because I don't use anymore, but I still try to keep current on the scene. But I'm 99.9% sure anything on the market will be more tamper proof than the Purdue brand

Update!

No official documentation or testing yet, but according to a forum on spine-health.com, the new mallinkrodt oxycodone ER tabs do not contain a wax matrix.

I really hope they're right!
