The Old and Overgrown 2C-E Thread

I would not say that 2c-e has a 'dirtier' feeling than 2c-i. 15 mg of 2c-i sometimes gives me tightness in the chest, while 15mg of 2c-e makes me quite shaky. The character of these two materials is quite different. I enjoy the experience of 2c-e more thoroughly, but I could do 2c-i more often because it is much more....easy. The visuals on 15mg of 2c-e were quite remarkable, even rivaling the best of which I've seen, though my accomplice only noted very slight visuals. Mileage may vary.

I have experienced both 2c-i and 2c-e many times at various doses and I would have to agree with most comparisons made by eric987235.

Being able to function in public on either of these materials is simply a function of how much you have taken. I can do 10mg of 2c-e in a public setting and enjoy myself without letting on to anyone else that I am on anything. Everyone is different. My wife tells me that my personality does not change, no matter what material I'm on.

But on a more constructive comparison: 2c-e is not the type of material you would want to experience in public, while 2c-i can be a very socially enjoyable and encouraging experience.

I think someone should put togather a FAQ for this chemical. I know MGS did a post on 2C-E a few months ago, but due to the minimum character factor I was not able to search for 2C-E. A basic description of the trip, and information on if it should be kept in a dark place / freezer would also be very much appreciated. Is this chemical alcohol or water soluable ? Also, can this substance be insuffilated ? Below is some basic information taken from Erowid and PiHKAL. Please post any other information that you have on this chemical.

Onset 20 - 90 minutes
Coming Up 15 - 30 minutes
Plateau 3 - 7 hours
Coming Down 2 - 4 hours
After Effects 2 - 6 hours
Hangover / Day After 6 - 24 hours

Oral 2C-E Dosages
Threshold 2 - 5 mg
Light 5 - 10 mg
Common 10 - 15 mg
Strong 15 - 20 mg
Heavy 20 - 25 mg

QUALITATIVE COMMENTS:

(with 16 mg) There was a strange devil-angel pairing. As I was being told of the ecstatic white-light ascent of my partner into the God-space of an out-of-body experience, I was fighting my way out of a brown ooze. She saw the young Jesus at the bottom of a ladder drifting upwards step by step to some taking-off place, and I saw all the funny gargoyles around the base of the ladder surrounded by picnic bunting. For me it was the 4th of July, rather than Easter!

(with 20 mg) The view out of the window was unreal. The garden was painted on the window, and every petal of flower and tuft of grass and leaf of tree was carefully sculptured in fine strokes of oil paint on the surface of the glass. It was not out there; it was right here in front of me. The woman who was watering the plants was completely frozen, immobilized by Vermeer. And when I looked again, she was in a different place, but again frozen. I was destined to become the eternal museum viewer.

(with 25 mg) I have a picture in my living room that is a stylized German scene with a man on horseback riding through the woods, and a young girl coming out to meet him from the nearby trees. But she was not just 'coming out.' He was not just riding through the woods. The wind was blowing, and his horse was at full gallop, and his cape was flapping in the storm, and she was bearing down upon him at full bore. The action never ceased. I became exhausted.

(with 25 mg) Within minutes I was anxious and sweaty. Each person has his own brand of toxic psychosis--mine always starts with the voices in my head talking to me, about all my worst fears, a jumble of warnings and deep fears spinning faster. Twenty minutes later this complex chaos passed as quickly as it had come. At lower dosages 2C-E has been a truly enjoyable esthetic enhancer. But it really has a steep dose/response curve.

EXTENSIONS AND COMMENTARY: Here is another of the magical half-dozen. The range is purposefully broad. At 10 milligrams there have been some pretty rich +++ experiences, and yet I have had the report from one young lady of a 30 milligram trial that was very frightening. My first experience with 2C-E was really profound, and it is the substance of a chapter within the story. The amphet-amine homologue is DOET, which is not only much longer in action, but considerably more potent. Several people have said, about 2C-E, "I don't think I like it, since it isn't that much fun. But I intend to explore it again." There is something here that will reward the experimenter. Someday, the full character of 2C-E will be understood, but for the moment, let it rest as being a difficult and worth-while material. A very much worth-while material. One Tweetio of 2C-E is known. The 5-EtO-homologue of 2C-E is 5-ethoxy-4-ethyl-2-methoxyphenethylamine, or 2CE-5ETO. The nitrostyrene intermediate had a melting point of 110-110.5 °C, and the final hydrochloride a melting point of 184-185 °C. The effective level of 2CE-5ETO is in the 10 to 15 milligram range. It is gentle, forgiving, and extremely long lived. Some 3 to 4 hours were needed to achieve plateau, and on occasion experi-ments were interrupted with Valium or Halcion at the 16 hour point. After a night's sleep, there were still some effects evident the next day. Thus, the dose is comparable to the parent compound 2C-E, but the duration is 2 to 3 times longer. It was given the nickname "Eternity" by one subject.

Sorry to rain on your parade, but it wasn't 2c-e that was labeled Eternity, it was 2CE-5ETO. Read the Extensions and Commentary more carefully next time.
 
you probably already know this, but from the research I have done 2c-e is-

very profound, very deep, considered to be one of the best 2cs by many

not recreational

it is one of mgs' favorites, which says something right there
 
Hype aside... the people that I personally trust who have tried 2C-E have found it to be rather generic, nondescript, and far from "the best 2C"... good stuff, but nothing special.
 
Excellent, any word on insuffulated dosage ? I'm not planning on it, just gathering information. Also, is this chemical soluable in any liquids ?
 
buuuuump. michael ~ that is definitly the case for me as well, at least with 2ct2.
 
I had 25mg of 2C-E this past weekend, its good but gave me a dirty evil feeling high... I liked it tho, mad visuals and huge body buzz, its great, but theres just *something* about it that makes it ehh.. im not sure, id definately do it again tho

Perhaps try a little less. I would never take more than 20 mg. That amount blew my universe away. 14 to 16 mg is a nice dose. With many materials, less is more.
 
havent gotten to try 2-ce.... anyone have any comparisons to 2-ci with it??

since 2-ci is obtainable legally.. i have experimented as much as possible and i absolutely love it.. definately the second best chemical trip ive had... i still think LSD trumps all
 
I've never worked with 2C-E, but I stored 2C-i dissolved in water in a cool, dark place, and it kept pretty well. The total duration was around two weeks.
 
From what I've tried (and there are more serious ones but I have not tried them), I'd consider 2C-E, MDA (in a gentle way), 2C-T-7 (in a somewhat gentle way), DPT, DMT, LSD, 5-MeO-DMT, 4-Ho-DiPT (usually gentle), and baby woodrose seeds serious. At least those are in my "best" list.

I've got a seperate "favorite" list. Some psychedelics are just plain good (best of list), and some are good and also enjoyable to do (favorites).

I can't really say DPT is all that enjoyable, except at the end when you are done (for me). But it's still DAMN good. It does what a psychedelic is supposed to. It just does it with a bite. 2C-T-7 is also damn good, but I enjoy it. The emotions and visuals are beautiful. But back to 2C-E.

I don't think anyone should take more than 14 to 16 mg of 2C-E their first time. 16 mg SMASHED me. 2C-E is definitely no toy. Take it in the right place. Take it with the right person.

I wish to add one more reference point to the toxicity discussion of 2c-e. A friend of mine has taken 2c-e several times and happened to ingest 100mg (this is NO joke!) of 2c-e once. He survived and didn't have any "bodily toxic" signs of any kind. This is, however, not encouragement for anyone to take this amount. He commented that it was one of the most complex and difficult trips he had taken. That is a lot said, since he is quite a hardhead psychonaut. So, I advice no one to take this amount, but from this point of view, 2c-e cannot be severely toxic since it can be "overdosed" with such whopping amounts.
 
It would be a good thing if some of these people taking large/repeated doses of 2CE would put up some trip reports, we could do with a few more accounts of this one.
 
I asked my friend about his high-dose 2c-e trip and this is what he said about it (in loose translation, filtered through my understanding of his accounts):
He had taken 50mg and 100mg of 2c-e (on two different occasions), apparently both trips had essentially the same main points, since he didn't bother to distinquish between them. He had seen all possible future outcomes in each space-time contimuum points and he had to choose one "branch" of space-time events in each moment. After those experiences, he had got a very strong feeling that this universe is not deterministic, but our choices make a difference here. He said that 2c-e effects focused most on the concept of time on those high-dose sessions. He was not eager to repeat those experiences and said that even 20mg of 2c-e was "quite a lot, especially with cannabis".

I urged him to write a more detailed report, but I doubt he gets to that anytime soon.
 
The most 2C-E I've taken was 20 mg (orally) and that was one of my strongest trips ever. I can't imagine ever taking more. I don't even think I'd do 20 mg again.
