I'd say BHO is at least 5 times (depending how it's made) more potent than flowers, so if you tend to get too high with flowers and don't like it, I wouldn't suggest it.

Just as I wouldn't give BHO to a first time smoker.
 
I think I might have asked this before in a different thread but can skillets lose their heating properties? It seems like my skillet takes longer to heat up after a year of heavy use.
 
You could have worn down the titanium plate a bit with constant torching, though Im not a metal worker so dont quote me on that. I understand what youre saying though, ive seen skillets and titanium oil domes lose their "magic", so-to-speak, after years of (ab)use.

As for getting a skillet even with no tolerance - get one.

I call skillets the tolerance builder, andd thats especially true with Wax or BHO. If you like concentrates and respect their awesomeness, a skillet or oil dome is really the way to go. Youll get the most out of your concentrate, and youll be way more satisfied. Its also quite economical. Instead of wasting a grip of hash by smoking it, youre going to be using way less to get much higher.
 
anyone like budder? my roommate makes it, he takes BHO and continues to whip it until the butane is completely out. he says it unfortunately destroys the terpenes.. whatever the fuck that means. im a dope addict, and nothing helps WDs like a few rips of his butter out of the toro with Labworx skillet

which brings me to my second question, which i have also asked in OD but i figure might as well be asked again here.

have any of you oil heads tried vaping other drugs on your skillets/bulbs? if so what, and how do you think it compared to more traditional methods of vaporizing/smoking it? i've got a few things laying around (DMT, crack, meth, BTH, and shard) that i don't really do but keep around and slang. any ideas?

EDIT: Im somewhat new here and don't know etiquette, im certainly not trying to thrust hard drug use on anybody, just figured if there were experts to be found they might be in here
 
Budder, or Wax, is my absolute favorite concentrate. Beautiful and powerful stuff. A Skillet rip of wax will cure most illnesses, imo ;)

As for vaping other chemicals, ive found an oil dome or skillet to work well for many compounds. Ive smoked opium (real opium, not heroin or red rock), and DMT and have found both to work beautifully in a skillet or oil dome.
 
I doubt butane gets out of your BHO from whipping it, I think it gets the moisture out of the oil. I believe terpenes are what give the plant it's flavor.

I never made Budder because it looks really hard to stick to a dabber and I heard it's potency decreases faster than non-whipped BHO.

The only other drug I tried on a glass nail was some poor quality hash and it didn't work so well... But I heard it worked really well if you have a full melt hash.
 
you can make full melt hash with 99% alcohol i prefer smoking iso over bho as its less harsh and easier to purge and make over all put some herb in a jar shake put alcohol just over the herb level shake for one minute pour thru a coffee filter into pyrex dish let that dry - 2-4 hours later scrape taht and smoke on ur skillet/vapeswing/curve/dome lol its the best :) bho is okay too but i feel it has more impurities and is much more harsh
 
whoa just read you smoked dmt with a skillet/dome not sure how the fuck you would do that - dmt is like a powder normalyl or whatever so i mean how would you grab it to apply it to the skillet im not sure how you would spread it .. and i was also told its bad to burn the dmt or actually apply flame which i think it would be more than burned its like cinged however i dunno never done dmt figured id use a meth pipe and roll the bowl if i wanted to smoke dmt

pretty much impossible to get anything but weed around here though

and anyway i don't want to build my tolerance up, i deliberately don't smoke regularly enough so i don't build up that much of a tolerance which means i get hiiiiiiiigh as fuck usually.

Yeah I really don't know much about the actual science or whatever. He has mentioned that he only makes small batches at a time because it loses potency far faster than BHO. Depending on the quality, i think my favorites are full melt and budder. It's funny because I am so spoiled, I have no idea how to make any of that shit, I just have a roommate that's ALL ABOUT THE CONCENTRATES. he calls nug "flowers" haha

I think im going to try smoking tar and/or glass out of it. should i use the quartz or the titanium skillet tray thing?
 
Haha I feel you, when I showed BHO to my friends who had no idea it existed, I was refering to "flowers" or "herbal material" for buds and it made them laugh a lot, especially after their first dab hehe ;)

In my opinion, although I have only tried glass and titanium first hand, titanium is the best. I heard you can get some bad flavor with quartz if it's not heat at the right temperature.

For the guy who said he can't get anything but weed in his area... Cook your own that's what I do!

What you get by whipping it up is you purge the butane from the gummy paste, though youre not going to fully purge it by using whipping alone.

The best method for purging your budder/wax/whatever you wanna call it, is by sticking it in a toaster oven at the lowest possible setting (which is like 100F I believe) and letting it sit and bubble in there for 15-20 minutes at a time. At each intervall you take it out whip it up, and either put it back or even put it in the freezer for a wee bt to harden it up. Id then let it sit out in the sun for at least a week so it can further purge, whipping it up at will.

BHO or any other concentrate really is easy to make if you have enough bud (flower is a totally acceptable term for the peron above who seemed a bit taken back by it - the buds are the flowers of the plant afterall), and you can even make nice BHO/Wax/hash/etc with trimmings.

Its the same concept really. Youre not using a direct flame, youre using a heated medium. What we did to smoke the DMT out of a skillet was we torched the skillet as per usual, and then dumped in the DMT all at once onto the heated skillet. I cant say it worked better than using other methods like the "machine" or my personal favorite, the atom smasher, but it did the trick.
