Upset prediction of the week:

UDub will take out the Buckeyes, further sending the Big 10 into meaningless oblivion. Oh if only UNLV had taken care of their lead against the Badgers...:D

well i havent see uw play yet, but i gather that a lot of the buzz surrounding them has to do with their quarterback........ their freshman quarterback......... their freshman quarterback who has thrown only one touchdown pass this season =D

i could see how this would be a "trendy" upset, particularly for pac 10 honk, but i dont see it happening for you this week bra

whatever. Ask around OSU's campus and I promise you'd be hard pressed to find any Buckeye fans who see it your way.

if i formed my opinions or lived my life based on what osu students thought i would've been in jail for arson years ago :D

btw did you get your app state hoodie b4 they sold out?!!!

;)

^since you don't know much about UDub...I'll let you discover for yourself how competitive they will be. Let it be known that Husky Stadium is a very difficult place to play when the Huskies are amped up, and believe me, the excitement in the air up in Seattle is as high as it's been since 2000 with Locker showcasing some incredible ability.

Sure he only has 1 TD pass...but he's also the second-leading rusher on the team with 164 yards and 3 rushing TDs so be prepared to deal with a multi-dimensional QB with speed...something the Buckeyes have had trouble with recently, which includes better Buckeyes squads than the current one we're seeing.

And after playing a legit team unlike the Bucks, I think UDub's a bit more seasoned at this point than OSU, who can only be so prepared after playing scrubs like Youngstown State and Akron in the comforts of the Horseshoe...;)

Anyway, I smell an upset...and if I'm wrong, it won't be the first time. :D

Rankings may say it, but I wouldn't see UW > OSU as an upset. I don't thing OSU is that good either.

I'm a bit sad heading into this weekend as I could imagine nothing more enjoyable than both UMich and ND going 0-3 to start the season, but it just isn't possible. Unless....unlesssss.......whomever wins the game later is investigated and has to forfeit all their wins. :) One can hope.

how can next year's recruiting class have you in the top 10 two weeks into the highschool season?

It's a top 10 recruiting class. I didn't mean to say that a freshman class would immediately put us into the top 10.

i know what you meant pal.... is recruiting already over? either way i'd guess that miami has a pretty solid recruiting class every year.

What? Even your non pac-10 watching self thinks UDub is as good as OSU, if not better? :D It's probably more that you think the Buckeyes aren't that good...rather than UDub being better than advertised heh.

It would have to be considered an upset given the recent records of these teams the past 5 years or so... and I see that OSU is at -4.5 at the moment.

We used to. But the reason we suck so much now is because Larry Coker tried too hard to recruit out of state, and neglected all of the homegrown talent we have here in Florida. Not to mention the #1 recruit in the nation, Kyle Wright, turned out to be one of the largest busts in college football history.

I also predict that UF will go down the shitter pretty soon, since Meyer isn't doing such a great job recruiting. I think he was overrated and he definitely won his championship with Ron Zook's old talent, just as Larry Coker won with Butch Davis's. Which is nice, because I always love to see all other Florida schools fail :p

Have you looked at who is ranked in the top 3 recruiting classes each of the past 3 yrs? Yes, he won with Zook's talent (something Zook couldn't do, but that's Big10+1 problem now :p), but his coaching staff was able to take talent that didn't fit his scheme and make things happen. Also, how much has he relied on freshman and sophmores for his Nat'l Championship season (you know, his first two years of recruits)? Now, he's got the talent to fit his scheme (top 3 classes, mind you), so we'll see just how good his scheme really is.

I'll agree the big 3 schools in FLA are down, but mostly due to Miami being so horrible and FSUcks failing - UF coming off a championship, embarrassing OSU? Not so much down. USF is growing, and I give them a good shot at being a future Big Easy contender more consistently than L'ville or Rutgers.

Jefe - yes, more a disdain for OSU than any knowledge of UW. But in my heart I've always like the Huskies, too. <3

Or how about an even bolder Upset Special...

Miss St. over Auburn

You're smoking something wacky dude....

UF is a close second behind USC in recruiting since Meyer has been at the helm

I will have to also point out, regarding Meyer's recruiting, that HIS first class to come to UF (currently Juniors) is down to about 8 out of a bunch. Transfers, washouts, etc. So his first 'top recruiting class' vanished in a puff of smoke, but the next two are still around.

I'm not saying that Meyer's first couple classes sucked or that he did a bad job. I am stating that he is far behind in recruiting for THIS upcoming class, with only 4 or 5 commits so far. It's an error that a lot of good schools make, including Miami, where they become contented and seem to think the talent will just come to them. I understand that it is early, but you have to start early if you really want a chance at nailing a good class.

When you are as hyped as Meyer was, talent tends to come to you for a short period of time, as it also will with Saban and to a lesser extent Butch Davis. Eventually the novelty wears off and you have to bust your ass again in order to get recruits.

Yea but dont pay much attention to the early, early recruiting rankings for this year....

The big time recruits who'll pretty much define a programs recruiting success usually hold out until right before signing day in Feb

Fair enough; let me rephrase it: Most fans enjoy seeing a powerhouse school like UM lose, it's part of what makes college football exciting. No one here, except USC fans, can't tell me it wouldn't have been fun to see Idaho beat them. Big 10 or not, I like seeing huge upsets. Like I said, as far as OSU's concerned, weather UM's 0-11 or 11-0 when they play each other, the formula for any Big 10 team is simple: win out and your in the NC.

Games this week:

Tennesee Vs Florida
USC vs Nebraska
Ohio State vs Washington
Michigan vs Notre Dame
Louisville VS Kentucky

Anyone else excited this for this college football weekend?
