the official NCAA football thread

Yeah it might be bad for the Big 10, but any Buckeye fan should take great joy in seeing Michigan get embarrased by a Div 1AA Team like App St.
It's so funny because just a couple weeks ago SI's cover featured Mike Hart with the caption saying "MICHIGAN" The Big Run for #1

hahahahahaha! UM SUCKS!

i'd expect that kind of attitude from you smotpoker. i want every big ten team to perform well in non conference play. every loss like this devalues the eventual beating that michigan will receive on their home field from the buckeyes in november

and did i catch that 1st 1/2 score correctly:

I would just love to see them upset Oklahoma next week :)

Yeah....

That didn't happen lol. 51-13 haha.

And it's not looking like Michigan will beat Oregon, unless they come back for the second half as a different team lol.

One of the halftime show commentators during the GA-SC game said it best about Michigan.

Maybe what we're finding out is that they just aren't all that good.

Rofl. ;)

It's true; Michigan has a BAD squad this year. And this is coming from a recent UM grad and a huge Wolverine football fan. I don't know what the preseason scouts were thinking; we have no defense and no real O-Line. Despite this, Lloyd Carr should be fired. I've been saying it for 2 seasons and that Appalachian State game is proof. We should've been able to play with our 4th string and beat any 1-AA team. The Oregon game is just further proof of how weak of a squad we have. It's depressing.

Oregon looked like a top notch team, they were great. Dixon looked awesome, and Michigan looked like a second teir team. Florida, I can't say, since they haven't played a real team yet. LSU looked great, and South Florida barely lost to Auburn.

Damn, this season is going to break many opinions.

I'd say it's embarrassing that Aub lost to USF, but then I could say how USF is the sleeper of the Big Easy this year and try to comfort my SEC bretheren....but the fact remains, it is embarrassing :\

Mich...what can you say? I like how the TV showed Duck fans with t-shirts that said "BIG OUR HOUSE" =D The only two other thoughts I had from that game were that they should call it "The Fun House" as all the visitors have a great time, or change their team fight song to "Hail to the Victims" as they keep getting their asses runover.

FLA still hasn't played anyone, but Troy showed how vulnerable our defense is going to be. Now THAT was embarrassing. Again I could try and point to Troy's showing against other schools, or their offensive scheme would fuck with anyone - but they run a spread, same as our defense sees every f'n day at practice, but run with lesser athletes. No excuses - just embarrassing. :\

I think VT has run out of 'mystique' and won't get any further poll voting based on sympathy. Their hollow rankings should be to an end. Yes, LSU is tremendous (I look forward to seeing who they face in the BCS finals, because they looked good enough to take ANYONE). Truly the best in the SEC based on what they've shown thus far. And sticking in the SEC - SCar over UGA....@UGA? C'mon atlas, tell me it isn't the second coming of the evil genius. Tell me SCar hasn't finally gotten off the cellar floor, that they aren't actually going to challenge for the SEC East? Not that the rest of the East impresses me much at this point (FLA included...another "over-ranked"). One last question on SCar - I heard a video showed up of Spurrier talking shit to Lee Corso, who then had a caniption fit on ESPN gameday picking against SCar again. I wish I coulda seen both of those, especially Corso losing it. Better yet is to see what kind of crow he's been eating since then. :)

And one, last, parting laugh. Thank you Miami, for showing the world how truly far you have fallen. Someone please flush the OB before that stench reaches Dolphin stadium.

whatever. Ask around OSU's campus and I promise you'd be hard pressed to find any Buckeye fans who see it your way.
It really doesn't matter what UM's record is when we play them in November. The formula for the Big 10 is simple: Go undefeated the whole season and your in the NC game. Always been like that, always will be.

Simply put, I want every team in the BIG 10 to do well also, but as an OSU fan I don't get how anyone couldn't take joy in seeing Michigan in misery.

Upset prediction of the week:

UDub will take out the Buckeyes, further sending the Big 10 into meaningless oblivion. Oh if only UNLV had taken care of their lead against the Badgers...:D

ah, leave it to jefe to prove my point ;)

If there is one good thing I can still say about my 'canes, at least were not Michigan :p

But seriously, fuck Larry Coker and everything he did to this team. It's illogical to me how one man can recruit so poorly. The good news is, next years recruiting class has us in the top 10. Now if only we can find a QB...
