The Official NCAA Football 2005 thread

^Dont forget about Vince Young. The Horns would be dead in water without him. Mack Brown would be w/o a job by the end of season w/o him. Atleast USC can still go to White, who has been just as productive, even more productive on occasions, than Bush. If Heisman is about MVP, then Young should get it hands down . . so far any way.
Bush is the most talented college football player since Vick though.

To Wild

Hey now... what does that mean!

Im a buckeye till i die.. but Penn State losing to U of M is a good thing for sure

Brady is amazing... if the bucks had a QB like that we'd be incredible

I know it's easy to count chicks out with football, but you have no clue how hard-core Ash is, sick puppy.

everyone in Columbus bleeds scarlet and grey - and the ladies are certainly included. Wild1's football fever can top most dudes - ask Rollin-to-Oakenfold %)

Aww... that brings a tear to my eye! :D

It was a joke douche

You mean someone other than yourself laughed at that? :)

sarcasm...so easily used...so selfishly amusing.

Oh yeah...there was the most exciting weekend of the current college football season happening just hours ago.

Those Trojans just continue to amaze. Even when teams execute their game plans well enough to win, the men of Troy just find a way to ruin their opponents' hopes and dreams. Three tough road games...three tough wins. My hat's off to Charlie Weis, who has officially returned The Golden Domers back to the elite and should continue to keep them there for many years to come...unless he find the right NFL suitor. They left their hearts on the field and really earned the respect they deserve.

Bye bye for now Florida State. The road doesn't look much nicer.

The Big-10. Unbelievable. Northwestern's got a solid shot! :D

and FINALLY...after 4 humiliating years, the Bruins pull off a win against Wazzu and win in Pullman for the first time in 12 years. How nice it was of them to build a 21-0 hole to start off the game, and still trail by 17 at the end of 3 quarters, but somehow these guys just find a way in the 4th quarter to pull games out with some offensive flair. They're somewhat of a poor man's Trojans...slow starters but incredibly resilient in the 2nd half of games. The defense has issues with injury and that's reflected their play, but 2nd half adjustments keep them winning. Heck, Maurice Drew is a smaller version of Reggie Bush.

It seems like every game could be an adventure with these last-bite killing bruins, and with ex-QB Matt Moore making his return to the Rose Bowl, I expect the OSU Beavers, hot off an upset over Cal, to give the Bruins a good challenge. They're out to make their season shine through league play, and so far they've shown strong improvement since early season trouble. It's been two years since they last faced off, and the Bruins hold a 2-game winning streak.

I think yesterday had to be the greatest day of college football I have ever seen
USC v ND (with no time left)
Min v Wis (blocked punt to win)
Michigan V Penn State (with no time left)
UCLA v Wash (in OT)
Michigan St v Ohio St (that play to end the first half)
Florida St v Virginia (huge upset)

never seen so many close games with crazy plays. glad the Horns manhandled a ranked team . . .

Yall see the stats for the Texas Tech QB vs. K-St??!?

Texas Tech QB Cody Hodges completed 44 of 65 passes for 643 yards and 5 touchdowns with 2 interceptions.

Four Red Raiders finished with over 100 yards receiving with Joel Filani catching ten passes fro 255 yards.

WTF is up w/ Texas Tech's unbelievable passing game in the last 5yrs or so? Those stats are fucking rediculous!! Looks like Madden 2005 stats...

hodges in the game up 52-20 with 7:30 left is fucking ridiculous. i hope texas tech gets bitch slapped and the winner(texas) is throwing the ball when they are up 32 points and the starter is in the game(granted, i don't mind throwing if it's the back up)

i would have to agree. i'm started to feel more and more like texas is the best team in the country. i hope both usc and texas go undefeated because that will be on hell of a game.

um, b/c they have a weak scehdule overall, and they like to run up the score on undermanned teams after they already have the game in hand. lets see Cody predict 100 points against UT later this year like he did earlier.

<<< LD.

I had a dead email for that screen name, so now it sits in limbo.

Fuckin' Maryland...they had a shot to give the Hokies some trouble and stunk it up offensively in the second half. VT can't make those kinds of mistakes against 1st-tier level opponents.

SEC kids...where's the talk? Isn't this supposed to be another big weekend?

^that was an ugly game. I really feel for that fullback...that bastard ;). It doesn't look like neither Georgia nor Alabama will survive if that's what they bring to the table. Maybe they'll overcome the injuries, but there's enough competition in the SEC to dash their already slim national title hopes.

Texas No.1 in the BCS? What a joke. Beating up on arguably the weakest major conference in college football is not deserving of such a ranking when the No.2 is holding a 29-game winning streak, have faced 3 ranked opponents on the road so far with the strong possibility of facing 6 (that's right, half of the schedule) ranked opponents, and just happen to be 2-time defending champions.

Texas...the team that couldn't beat what has been the biggest fraud in college football history...the Oklahoma Sooners of the past two seasons. It looks like the only hope left is A&M with weak-ass road trips to Ok. State and the up-and-coming Baylor Bears (haha!).

Frankly, if Virginia Tech stays undefeated, they'll be a much better No.2 with the schedule they will have gone through than Texas. Granted, their toughest games will be at home, but those matchups will be more than one measly game at Ohio State for the Longhorns. Justice will not be harmed if the Longhorns are assed out of the title game since th Big 12 always received the breaks with the BS err BCS since its inception. I'd love to see Mack Brown whining when he doesn't get his way.

UCLA's road trips to Stanford and Arizona will not be easy. The Cardinal have bounced back nicely after arguably their worst loss in school history and Trent Edwards will present some problems for the Bruin defense. I was quite pleased to see the Baby Bears come out strong early though this past weekend and control the OSU game from the start. The defense will continue to be an adventure, but as long as they make the necessary stops and the offense keeps rolling along, UCLA will find themselves right in the middle of the national picture at the end of the regular season with a date against the hated crosstown rivals.
