Post your tips and tricks for growing and keeping long, healthy, and thick hair! For girls and guys. :3
My boyfriend and I have been trying different things to keep our hair looking full and healthy. I was actually inspired by this thread: http://www.bluelight.org/vb/threads/773112-Thicker-Looking-Hair-Naturally!!?highlight=hair+thread which linked this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1v2PRuxoMp8. Basically the guy talks about using natural oils (leaving it in hair overnight) to keeping your hair thick and full and even possibly growing back from areas where you're balding. I'm not sure if it is specifically for men.. so I did some general research on these oils and here's what I found:
His "formula" was:
2 oz almond oil - thickening hair
2oz. castor oil - Helps with hair regrowth and hair loss, makes the hair richer and darker, prevents split ends, treats dandruff and dry scalp moisturizes the hair and makes it shine, works in an antifungal and antibacterial way
1 oz coconut oil
1oz. jojoba oil - easily penetrates scalp, antibacterial properties (dandruff, etc), hydrates hair, adds volume, adds shine, elasticity, and softness, encourages hair growth.
1oz. emu oil
Sounds pretty good, right? My boyfriend and I mixed 2 oz of almond oil, 2 oz. of coconut oil, 1 oz of jojoba, and 1 oz of emu oil and let it soak overnight. Results? Extremely soft and plush hair! Pretty amazing and that was only one time! We did it again this week and same results. I'm thinking of adding some of it to my conditioner... and applying it to my eyelashes.
I'm still waiting for the rest to come through on amazon.
1. Soo.. what type of shampoo/conditioner do you use? I've been trying to find some good ones but havent really had any luck. I use Head and Shoulders for my dandruff but I don't think it's doing anything great with my hair. I've recently switched to Dove Nourishing Oil care and I really like it.
I've been thinking of purchasing some leave-in conditioner and read really good results with this:

2. What type of leave-in conditioner do you use?
3. What type of heat-protectant oil/spray do you use? HSI Argan oil
4. Do you use any specific treatments/oils on your hair?
5. What type of styling products do you use? Men & woman
6. How often do you cut your hair?
7. Any general tips and tricks for healthy hair!
