The Official Flatmate wanted/needed thread

<3

Moving out in March - - - I've followed up a few leads in this thread already, just putting the feelers out. :)

I'm 22, female, non-smoker, with four years experience in shared living arrangements.
I'm after something in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne, or something elsewhere which is reasonably close to the city.

Please PM if you have any information for me.

wow.. time for me to look at moving into the city(ish)

okay..

i'm looking for a place around hawthorn, richmond, kew, malvern area (melbourne)..

looking for a house / apartment... no cats (allergic..) preferably with car space..

wanting to share with 2 or 3 people (mixed sexes..)

i also have some furniature if needed (2 new couches, washing machine, coffee tables, wardrobes and cabinets) and of course my own bed.. ;)

looking to spend up to $600 pcm..

me:
- 26 year old male..
- professional worker (not a hooker.., i have a f**king cool job that pays me well so i am never short on rent)
- have lived in share situations for 8 years
- i used to be a block supervisor at uni (in charge of a block with 36 people..) so am acutally quite responsible (despite what you may read online.. ;) )

^Well, flatmate number one is moving out this week. 8o

I'm now looking at either getting a couple to maybe move in here [two bedroom place], or the original plan as quoted - - - although time is of the essence now, I'm looking to do this within around a month.

Ok! Looking for a place to live...
Want somewhere close to the city...

Melbourne...

Rent not really an issue.

Would prefer a place with a secure car spot.

I'm mid 20's.

Please drop me a message!

Thanks,

F

Looking for a place to call home...

ideally inner city/ north/west (Abbotsford, Collingwood, Northcote, Inner Brunwick), i'm flexible on location for the right house but have somewhat of a fear of suburbia. Desired housemates are fun easy going peeps who are housetrained and have their shit together.

I have my own fridge, coffee/dining tables, couch, general house and kitchen stuff, which can be stored or used, if needed.

I'm 23, have lived in share houses for 4 years, am professionally AND creatively employed, always busy and often known to provide light entertainment relief to housemates (usually involving the aquisition of another bruise due to my perpetual clumsiness;) I LOVE pets, have a rent budget of up to $130pw and am needing a place by the end of march.

PM me!

well it turns out that my 'friends' are weak girly men who reneged on the 'guaranteed free spot', so i'm on the lookout for a place to live/sleep/etc (try not to think about the etc too much)

im 21, a liiiibra (in case you're one of those people who believes household harmony is based on the alignment of stars), work from 4pm till midnight so you'll never see me anyway, actually employed (gasp!) and am a master of the five-point exploding palm (in case you don't have a burglar alarm)

looking for something in the sub-$130 price range in the inner city. face it, i'm new to sydney, you could say cherrybrook is pimped out and i'd believe you. so for a gullible housemate who you'll probably never see anyway, msg me.

Ok had better get around to this sooner rather than later, our third opted out so now a new house mate we require...

About me...
22 year old male
working full time (8:30-5:30 M-F)
Non smoker as of recent
Vegetarian
Currently have g/f and am not home all that often for the moment at least until she gets bored with me

About the other...
23 year old female
not working but looking
artist (usually unfinished artwork is scattered about)
On the verge of being a non smoker or so she says
Vegetarian most of the time

About the house...
Inner east of Melbourne (border of Carnegie & Ormond)
Walking distance to Ormond station
3 bedrooms, yours would be located pretty much in the centre of the house so natural light sucks
The house itself is a relic and looks fairly run down (which is a good thing if you are concerned about security)
Shared bathroom, toilet and laundry (we don't have a washing machine yet)
When home we both love to cook and would prefer more of a communal feeling too the house (one cooks everyone eats)
Currently there is a small needy spanial living with us and possibly a kitten in the future.
A love of cartoons is basically essential (or we just won't get along)
A love of psytrance, bad martial arts movies and an open mind are recommended :)
There is a 512 DSL connection which you are welcome to share

The all important price...
Asking $75pw plus even split on water, gas and power (depending on how you use them)

If you have questions email me at work [email protected]

^^^sounds perfect, suits me to a T.
I was to be moving down at the ewnd of the year with work!
After talking at work today sounds like I be down within a month or 2.
My work is in Tullamarine, how far is that area form there?

They're on opposing sides of the city...

You'd be travelling against the flow of traffic for about half of each leg, though, if the idea appeals to you.

Cheers Moe.
Roughly how long would travel time be?
Office is about 5 mins from the airport.
Thanks

Bad part of town to live in if your working in Tulla, dude. I'd say it would be closer to a 45 minute trip.

You're better off looking at the inner north/west suburbs like carlton, fitzroy, brunswick, northcote, clifton hill, flemington, kensington.

45mins?
45mins to the city through traffic maybe.
Another 25-30 to Tulla from the beginning of the Northern Link on the West Gate Fwy.
Although, get someone to try the drive for you through peak hr traffic and give you a better idea.

Cool - thanks.
I'll keep those suburbs in mind when I start looking for a place. Up here I'm used to 15-20 mins to work.

Sorry MoeBro I misread your post as saying half an hour per trip (I don't know why).

lostNfound, those suburbs I mentioned are just the inner city ones, if you want to go further out it gets you closer to work, and cheaper accommodation, but you are also further from entertainment (well, decent entertainment anyway)
