Shahid Afridi is a gun, but he misfires too often. He once scored a cnetury off 37 balls (a record at the time, but i think since eclipsed by Jayasuriya).

Clarkey played a good innings, but showed his immaturity with that reckless shot on 97. Any schoolboy coach would have cringed seeing that.

^^^ Yeah his innings definitely deserved a better ending than that. I think the threat of rain halting proceedings might have had a little to do with it. I must say as much as i love Boof, his timing and footwork seem to be so poor at the moment, even though he played the innings he needed to today i keep waiting for him to unleash one of his blistering innings of old.

Australia lost? WTF?

Oh well, I didn't get to see the match fully, but saw the last 3 overs or so.

If clarke was opening with gilchrist, and possibly haydos at first drop then we would've seen a whole different match.

To drop or not to drop Haydon.

How horribly out of form is Haydon at the moment?
I wonder if it's time to bite the bullet and drop the great man? With Clarke doing so well in the opening spot i can't see how much longer the selectors can resist the temptation of going with him and Gilcrhist at the top of the order. This would leave Katich to fill Clarke's spot lower in the order.

If they retained Haydon but not as an opener the only other place i could see him in is the no.4 spot. Ponting Owns no.3 and i don't think you would ever move him down the order, which leaves playing Martyn at 5 a spot i think he could fill juts as well as he has batting at no.4. I just wonder if they stick with Haydon as opener and he continues with a horrible run of outs what it will do to his prospects in the long term. :\

Oh well whatever happens i hope a huge innings is just around the corner. Anyone else have any thoughts on what the selectors should do with Haydos?

They killed it. How about Afridi's 6 into the top tier....that was a monster!

pakistan deserved something. they've been ground into the, er, ground the whole tour... that shot alone seemed almost worth it.

What about martyn in last season? He wasn't performing at all, and now look at him.

Haydos needs some time on the pitch, but I do think he should be in the no 3 or 4 position. Clarke is going excellent and with him and gillie there, there is no doubt that we will get off to a flying start! Haydos could be the guy that if all goes wrong, he can clean it up.

He has too much pressure on him, being an opener. Especially when his form is not where we use to seeing it.

We shouldn't drop Haydos, that would only make it worse for him. On the other hand, we should make it easier for him to find his form.

The thing about the australian team is that the media will pounce on any player that is getting out of form. We have such a rich source of players that if someone is out of form everyone can say, "well this player is in form and he should be there not him"

Damn Pakis!

I wanted them to win one of these so they'll play the third match here in Adelaide! They really should have won yesterday. Hmph. Oh well, they still have a chance tomorrow, I suppose.

Well done Ricky for gashing your own knee.

Wasnt a bad match today, Pakis were still no match for the Aussie might :)

McGrath got 5 wickets, good effort

If our batters don't win the match for us, our bowlers will!

Gotta love the aussie team!

So the upcoming ashes tour, I'm possibly able to actually be in England for that tour!!

The best thing is that my mum's boss' dad is a member at the lords, which means I could watch the ashes at the member's stand at the freaking Lords baby!!

Yes that's right, envy me! :p

The only reason Australia has been winning so incredibly comfortably over the summer is because they haven't been playing good teams with any spine. Bring on the Kiwis. Should get some more exciting cricket then!

Hey wasn't yesterday the 2nd year anniversary of Australia beating your unruly mob 3-1 in the only game that counts? :)

But seriously dude.. see you have to stop believing your tabloid press. this is the over-hype that they do every time before anything - be it a world cup, euro championships, the ashes, tiddlywinks.. so maybe.. just maybe.. you could have more fun just having a wait before gloating in the unlikely chance england does actually manage to pull somethign special off here.

otherwise much <3 to your attempts to stir shit. =D

edited some incredibly disturbing typos.. :\
