ND 14 - UNC 24
OSU 41 - Mizz 52
LSU 31 - UF 27
PSU 24 - Wisc 10

texas oklahoma was definitely fun to watch... if you're not a fan of either team. no defense and @ least 3 huge blown calls by the officials. good times though

really michigan? really??!!! big ups to my alma mater

I was thoroughly enjoying this Florida ass-kicking of LSU until about 20 seconds ago. LSU scoring with 5 seconds left in the half to make the score 20-7 totally changed the tone of the game.

God, I hate Les Miles. He might be in the running for "Biggest A-Hole College Football Coach in America" two years in a row...

^^

Yea that TD at the half was HUGE!!

Hopefully this is a replay of the '04 LSU @ UF game where LSU came back after being down 17 - 7 at the half :)

We've ignored our running game thus far and we need to start out the 2nd half with a heavy dose of Charles Scott...He looked good on the few runs he's had in the first half

Pick 6 makes it 41 - 14....Game

I knew our Fresh QB would lose one for us....

LSU needed more run game than we've gotten....I cant believe we went away from it from the get go

Our Defense is way overated

FL completely outplayed us

Wow....

Should be interesting to see the rankings tomorrow...

#1, 2 and 3 went down....

We're in for another crazy season thsi year

In-laws were here, expecting me to flip back from UF-LSU over to PSU-WISC since they are JoePa fans (and my bro-in-law went to PSU). I gotta say, I really like their quarterback - he just strikes me as being in the moment and knowing what's going on, handling it well. I can't say I'm going to discredit him for beating WISC @ Camp Randel and making some comment about WISC being 'oooh, scary' is overhyped BS. Regardless of how legit, or even half-legit, WISC is this year, PSU's QB is getting it done quite well (though he's not alone, and shouldn't have ALL the credit).

It was nice to stop flipping to PSU for the 4th quarter and making OSU-MIZZ my 'other' flip-to game. Pulling for the cowboys, but primarily to knock off #3 and to root for an underdog. I'll agree the last interception was a bad replay call, but I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. Mr. Heisman wannabe shouldn't have been in that position at that point :|

UF....I'm not going to sing praises of 'back in' whatever picture they might have fallen out of. I think they were ready and brought their A game, whilst LSU may have eaten a little of their hype, but more importantly just didn't come out ready to go and never found a way to really build any momentum. Yeah, the end of the 1st half and the beginning of the 3rd quarter made you feel like they might have something to say in the game.....but between their dropped passes and our defense shutting down the run, they just weren't in the game. FWIW, I'm so glad we've actually started spreading that freaking ball around, and we've actually got 2 running backs worth a shit. Even a run between the tackles tends to squirt for 1-3 yds, rather than a Tebow no-gain, so that's an improvement; plus they both have the break away threat :)

Ah, past midnight on a day full of fun football (wish I'd have gotten to watch TX-OU). Looking for more in the weeks to come. At least I'll sleep well tonight.

UGA doesn't rise. I guess I can't complain. The polls are frustrating, though. Texas Tech is unbeaten, but does anybody think they have what it takes to win any of their games against ranked opponents. Can OSU beat Penn State? I'd like to see it happen.

UGA vs. TENN

The only game I watched in earnest yesterday. It was clear that Richt started cracking down on penalties, and Fulmer went the other route and tried to get his squad energized. Personal fouls cost the Vols on a couple of key downs, on both sides of the ball. I hope the Dawgs took a lesson away from that. Also, we learned that when a defense trains to isolate Moreno, UGA just runs fade routes and puts the ball high and slow in the air. Good news and Bad news there. Stafford would rather stick to the plan, than put the ball away from coverage. The INTs were, IMO, really unforgivable, 300 yards passing be damned. That's not going to work when they play UF, if it even works against Vandy et al. I hope everyone's promise that if UGA can get through the season with 1 loss, they still have a chance to play for the NC; the way they're sitting in the rankings currently, there look to be better cases in the Big XII, and farther west.

I didn't see much of the LSU vs UF game, but I'm shocked. I see Tebow throwing bullets to those two freshmen, and to Harvin, and its like the Tigers didn't come up with an effective scheme for dealing with the passing game. I wonder which Florida team is going to show up in Jacksonville: the one who played Ole Miss, or the one who played UF. The gators would be interesting to watch in the Conference champonship, and if they hand UGA its ass, they will have earned NC consideration, for sure.

The Texas vs. OU game I missed completely. from just looking at the box score, it looks like a typical Big XII game where it was a race to see who could score most before the clock ran out. Its my huberis, but I eagerly await a Big XII vs SEC championship, where we see if a Tide, Gator, or Dawgs front 7 can ring Cody's bell enough to completely stun them.

This season is, of course, still completely unsettled, but I'm already seeing the making of a "bad" year for the BCS system. Utah and BYU may go unbeaten, and unlike the ECUs and Fresnos of the world, have programs that play well year after year. If they get shut out, its going to be icky. At least I wont feel personally wronged like when it happened to Auburn.

OK State will be exposed soon enough. I think Georgia should be #7 and OK St. #10, not just because I'm a homer, I just think the Dawgs are a much better team. Too bad we lost Vince Vance, just another loss for us in the trenches. Tenn. has found a QB, bec. Stephens looks a lot better than Crompton. The Dawgs did very well against the run but looked pretty exposed on pass defense, which scares me when I think about the UF game. I think we will beat Vandy in a close one, but UF is up for grabs, with us possibly coming out with a loss. LSU and Auburn have shown me NOTHING. Kentucky can give us fits but we should dispose of them. Georgia Tech is no gimmie this year, so we've got our work cut out for us, but at least we are in control of our own destiny. GO DAWGS!! Sic em!

I wouldn't worry about a Big12 top heavy poll, that'll sort itself accordingly over the next few weeks. Personally, I kinda thought UGA would be 7-9 as well :\ but whatever...there's time.

I'm still curious how things will pan out for the top few spots in the long run. Penn State could go undefeated, but I doubt it, so that would send PSU-OSU over to the Rose Bowl....USC is creeping back up and while nobody expects them to drop another game, I can't agree with the talking heads that they can play their way back into the NC - their competition just won't beef them up enough to get there unless the other Big12 and-or SEC champs come out with *2* losses, then maybe I could see USC eeking ahead of them. Still, I'd prefer to see the 'grandaddy' have their stupid affiliations and host USC-OSU/PSU....a game I can plan to skip.

I dunno what'll happen with BYU and Utah going undefeated, perhaps they can get the two open bids for the BCS bowls, but more than likely only one (whichever ends ranked higher) will be given the nod and the other left out....again :| I'd hate to see BYU make it to a BCS game then get matched against the weakest autobid (most likely BigEasy or ACC) and end up winning. I mean, I appreciate their 'streak' but something inside me would enjoy it getting ended (handily) by a truly strong team.

Im sorry but USC shouldnt have jumped that high.....And no way they should be ranked ahead of UGA who lost to the current #2 in the country....

The way the polls are looking, USC has a good shot at making it back to the NC if they win out.

alabama got the shaft imo. a team with quality win shouldnt get jumped in the polls on their idle week... then again, being ranked number one hasn't necessarily been a blessing this season.

True, #1 isn't faring so well :\ Still, if you look down the remainder of ALA's schedule, they'll have faced:

#9 Clemson - road win obviously overrated, poll points aren't worth much anymore
#3 UGA - a beat down on the road, so poll points earned
UK - squeaker, at home...looks good originally, but let's see how UK stands later in the season :\
@#13 LSU (Nov 8) - assuming LSU climbs between now and then, this could pump them up a bit.

Bottom line, ALA doesn't have quite the 'gauntlet' that UGA has, nor what TEX has. While UGA and TEX stil have to wrangle their way thru that schedule, I could see ALA not getting the top spot until TEX loses, and even then I could still see Texas Tech (facing @#16, #1, #4, @#8 ) jumping USC, ALA, and several other top teams should they win out (unlikely, but possible).

Point is, there's a lot of football to be played, I wouldn't get too miffed about where anyone is in the polls at this point (though staying out of #1 does give a breath of 'not us losing this week'). I like Coach Brown's quote - nobody remembers who was #1 in week six last year, it doesn't matter....what matters is who is #1 in Jan. :)

Seconded. Watching the polls and trying to figure a complex matrix of potential strength of schedules is just promoting my already evident baldness. If a team plays up to its goals, the will be taken care of when the dust settles. (excluding Southern california ;))
