The new skin has ruined Bluelight... (say some)

I like the new skin much more, to be fair i haven't been a member for that long so I never really got to grips with the old format! I hated this one for the first few days but now I really like it!
 
I like the new skin and functionality, the only thing I miss is easily being able to find threads that I have posted in. I may just be doing something stupid but when I search my name or click my posts it organises them by my post date or something not by last activity... :|
 
It's definitely quieterbut doubt thats got much to do with the skin, it's not the greatest skin but it's not much different either. I remember what BL looked like when I first joined, I don't think I liked when that changed either but soon got used to it.
 
In true 1984 style I've forgotten what the old BL even looked like...

I said it earlier in the thread, but just click 'settings' in the top right. Maybe not logical, but it works :)

I reckon so, i have the same problem if i don't have the 'remember me' box ticked, let us know how you go on :)
 
Am surprised this thread is still here to be honest, it is just a whinge fest and there are adequate places to voice and real concerns that you actually want fixed or answers to in the support forum. I have to remind myself though that 99% of posters in EADD don't even realise that there is a world outside of EADD :\
 
I'm not being a cock, just pointing out the truth, which you seemed to quickly sidestep. I did go and speak to my flatmate, is a guy called Ky if I remember correctly. He is only going to be here a month.
 
The thread isn't just a 'winge fest' people are saying what they think of the new skin, what they don't like and if they prefered the old one or not. They are perfectly fine in doing so, they don't have to go to any other part of BL or the support board to make these comments. Outside of EADD is shit, FACT, so why would I want to go there?

There is really no point in even considering trying to explain things to people that have already shut their mind off to anything else. Not really in the mood to "argue" with you about it. I know that I am right and that is what matters to me.

This is a whinge fest, it is just people whinging in an area where nothing can possibly be done about it.

Support is a forum where your complaints that would be seen as a whinge here but not there are actually answered giving you a full and detailed answer as to why things are not the same, and keeping you updated as to what is still trying to be fixed and what is not going to be fixed.

Does something have to be capable of change for it to be discussed and debated?! - surely "whinging" as you so intelligently assess it is sometimes necessary, and I love Bluelight for this very reason. It's a place where you can vent, sometimes irrationally, about this and the next thing. As long as it's in the right place, and appropriate to theme of the tread, then who gives a flying fuck. No-one's making personal attacks, and everyone recognises explicitly or implicitly the work that the tech team do.

I respectfully encourage you to review your comments in this thread, and revert with a more considered response.

I have a lot of respect for mods and work they do, but you're out of line imo. You 'knowing you're right' is actually not enough; for me anyway.
 
Am just saying that if this wasn't EADD then this thread would have been moved to support after the first two posts. It seems that because EADD lives in it's own little bubble then it is allowed to have threads on every single topic.

I have no problem with that, it would just be nice sometimes for people to see that there are places where the things that they are whinging about have been brought up before and in some cases, things that are being done to fix them are being done and other things are not going to go back to how they were before.

I have no problem with EADD or it's members, even the ones that never leave EADD, it is not as high a % as I first said, it was an exagerration, I thought that would have been implied :\

Have no idea why you felt you had to bring up that I am a mod, whether I am a mod or not is irrelevant to be honest. This is a discussion about where is the most appropriate place for a thread that is based on the differences on bluelight during the upgrade.

It's just the same lazy attitude with people in real life, they willl whinge until they can whinge no more but will never take any action themselves, and here, people will be just be happy to whinge and whinge in this thread instead of actually posting somewhere where their issues could be heard and considered.

What is the point in having an opinion on something if you are too afraid to actually voice your opinion in the most appropriate place???

The comments above were not aimed at every single member of EADD, please do not take any personal offence. There are a good amount of people from EADD that do post elsewhere and I was overly exagerrating when I said 99% stay here. A lot do stay here though, I'm really not sure why either as the rest of bluelight can be pretty great too.)

I'm hopin this wasn't an offer that you misunderstood ;)

Agree with the rest though Mugz the support guys are there if you need to report a problem, the site needed an upgrade, people have short memories it wasn't that long ago that you could hardly use for the endless timeouts.

Lets all move on and embrace the change=D
 
I like the new skin. Funny to look at old versions on WayBackMachine when it was still bluelight.nu, I definitely think this is an improvement overall.

The logo needs updating to match though. I did a first draft of this and posted it in the Support forum when the upgrade was first done, and got a message from an admin who seemed keen to implement it, but he never got back to me with the changes he wanted making, despite me pestering him a few times since then :(
