The new skin has ruined Bluelight... (say some)

Anyone know of another way to see all the posts I've replied in? With this new skin I'm now clicking on "My Profile" at the top and then going to "Find All Posts" on the left hand side. I mean this is not inconvenient or anything but just wondering if there was another way.

Thanks

The main thing that twists my fucking melon is the search function no longer has the option to bring back posts containing the term you searched on. It just brings back the thread. So if you search for a phrase you just get a 15 page long fucking thread back that you have to look through every post. What a load of cock.

Just click on Thread Tools at the top right (under the page links) then Search. You can still search within threads!

For those on Firefox, did you know... that if you press the / key a "quick find" box appears at the bottom of the screen to search within the page. You don't need to click on it, just type what you want find. So to find MDMA within a BL page just type /MDMA and the first match will be highlighted, then F3 will find the next match. Ismene made me think of this with the "looking through every post" talk, it's not necessary. If you want to find MDMA somewhere else you'll need a different method.

Of course, IE gives you a search dialog with CTRL+F but it's clumsy. The quick find in Firefox comes from the mystical world of vi.

I didn't like the design of the new Mini at first... :)

I was with you up to that point, there is no "new Mini" you can get a BMW with a mini badge buts thats about as far as it goes, the new car just trades on a classic mark, of which i had 5, 3 I built from the chassis up, so make no secret of my bias.

As far as the upgrades concerned I'm, more than happy, very few time out issues and a nice fresh look, many thanks to all those people who put in the work to get it done, the old system was clearly on its last legs.

Just like there are no 'real' adidas Franz Beckenbauer reissues. Okay, I agree on that point. Just like the design of the car that wears the Mini badge these days, though at first I thought in the same terms as I think about trainers.

That was me being a pain in the arse by the way...in case you didnt notice...in a more subtle mood today;)

I see what you did there knock, but what if I'm looking for all the posts that person x has made that mention drug y? If it brings me back 15 pages of threads do I have to open every page of every thread and search for the drug name?

In the old days you could ask the search to either bring back the threads or the posts so you could see the exact post you wanted.

This happens every time anything is revamped... Gmail, facebook etc. The trick is to just keep using it and eventually you just forget how good it used to be.

yep

>>>>when I saw the thread title I thought, "what new skin", it hasn't changed for me, then I remmebered after i started reading the thread that it changed afew weeks? months ago? and I was mildly irritated at the time. You will get used to it people.

Yea yer all being pussies ;)
The only gripe I have with the new version is that the option to put up pics doesn't work unless you type out the code (aka.
)
But sod all that, it's fine and yer all being wusses :p =D

I don't know what I was on about with my reply earlier, I've never even used the Advanced Search (until now).

But, I've tried it and I do get the option to have posts returned rather than threads.

I think the new Bluelight is nice, to be honest i don't really notice the difference all that much?! The only problem that i have with the new Bluelight is one that i also had with the old Bluelight, but its happening more regularly now on the new one.

My problem is that if i take more then about 3 minutes to write a post then i can't post it at all. When i go to post it it says this:"Errors- The following errors occurred with your submission. You do not have permission to perform this action. Please refresh the page and login before trying again" But i am logged in, sure i couldn't write a post if i wasn't logged in! I have tried many different ways to get around this problem, but i ended up accidentally deleting my whole post a few times :( So now the only way i can post my posts now is if i 1) Write post. 2) copy the post. 3) log out of Bluelight. 4) log straight back into Bluelight. 5) Paste my post & post it quickly!!!

This seems like a lot of hassle so i don't post that much anymore. But its probably not Bluelights fault at all!!! I'm not all the knowledgeable when it comes to computers! I don't have a clue really! My Son is 20 so normally when i have a problem with the lap~top i ask him about it & he sorts it out for me, but i don't want my Son knowing about what i get up to on Bluelight!!! What happens on Bluelight stays on Bluelight!!! :) But i thought it should be as easy as, write a post & then hit 'post' to post it. It can't be my lap~top coz i have a new lap~top, & its a really up to date one, it has all the bells & whistles on it!!! So it must be just me doing something stupid, although i have come across one or two other Bluelight users that have had the same problem. Does anyone know what i'm doing wrong? Does this ever happen to anyone else? Is there anything that i van do to fix this problem? :)

But other then that i like the new Bluelight! It looks good & the layout is nice!!! Its all good!!! :)

P.S. I bet you anything that this post won't post when i go to post it!!! It'll say 'you are not logged in so you can not post, re-fresh page' But if i re~fresh page then my post gets deleted & then it still doesn't let me post it!

P.P.S Hahaha!!! It didn't post!!! Now off i go to copy, log out, log back in, paste & post!! Is it worth it?! What am i doing wrong??? GURRRrrrr...... :(

i totally agree . Not with just the skin change but the whole upgrade of the site also .

im not sure if im correct , as i am new to this new blight interface but i have noticed...
1) you cant see if a post u have made is the last one in a thread when viewing your own posts/replys . There used to be a small envelope which was either open, closed, on fire etc . I found that very helpful when wanting to know if someone had written something after u in a thread .
2) The new blight doesnt work on my ipod touch or windows phone , which is what ive used 85% of the time to make posts . So now i guess i dont use blight as much .(im on my pc right now :( ) .. lol i usually use blight when on the shitter lmao .

But yeah i know you guys are just trying to make things better . But i think it would be better if we went back to the old bluelight . Or at least still keep some of the features from the old bluelight .

Thanks :)

Here are the new icons that replaced the envelope.

I prefer it, a lot more modern and with really handy features that weren't available before.

click on advanced search at the top right of the page

then select the 'search single content type'

then if not already displayed click on "additional options"
