The New Powers of the Victorian Police

People need to learn the laws that govern us! :) We are ruled by sea law not a land law based system.. do your research and watch a doco called "Kymatica". It is a bit out there but the law section of the film is spot on! Know your rights when it comes to these things %)

^ Hey there! Thought you might pop in again.. %) Its not like that at all, you just need to know how to work the system. No balif is needed and just be prepared to spend the day in court!! No cost! All i will say is that they need to be able to understand the law themselves, if they cant explain it to you they cant serve you ;) This has been tested in court .. and they won :) And in saying that, its not like you can kill someone and get away with it! It just works with some laws.. spose i needed to spell that out :)

Bottom line is..


Whenever government says they want to protect you, it means your gonna loose some more freedoms..


I'd rather have my freedoms and face these so called "terrorists" then have no freedoms at all!


(The god damn CIA STARTED the bloody al qiada! look into that. They are also big into opium. BIG! They even ran a fox news story the other day saying "Well we gotta grow the opium otherwise the terrorists will get the money...")

Well organise a protest. Start spreading the word that there will be a protest somewhere in the middle of melbourn on a date, put posters up everywhere, stick them on the back of the doors in clubs and pubs.

There are probably heaps of Melbournites on BL, all of you decide on a place and time and start spamming infomation. Send a couple flyers to the media and they might even report on it giveing you a free shout out (unintentionally). Sit around and do nothing but clog up a public area and let the police arrest you and clog up their resources as well.

Do it on halloween or something so everyone will wear a mask (thanks colbert)

Last I heard the bikie's are set to go to the high court over this. Not sure of the date but I reckon they would have won, they were being discriminated against and the high court SHOULD rule in their favour.


As far as the topic is concerned, if we can be searched any where any time. I've seen the posters and adds but it was portrayed that it was entirely for weapons search which I'm not entirely against, depending on the levels of the search. I would be pro a quick metal detection search but would be furious if they deemed it neccesary to search my wallet for a weapon. I do not carry a pocket knife and I keep personal items in there, not just drugs but also things that it's no one else's business.

A very grey area law indeed.
 
If they are allowed to search randomly for weapons, its only a matter of time they will be allowed to search for drugs.

They just use that as their excuse and then say "look what we found while we were searching you for weapons".
 
If you have any idea of us living in a democracy throw every belief you have out the window. Real democracy has never existed, only a slightly more democratic republic as corrupt as any other system of government.

The people rarely have and probably won't hold any significant power ever again. Those who have less money=/=influence will continue to get fucked over by the powerful and rich, most of the time behind closed doors without people even noticing.

mmm, maybe the police could use these laws against the most undesirable of 'organised gatherings' which are in the business of procuring crime.... A sitting of politicians in Parliament!
 
I've been saying it for a long time, to have a true democracy our entire polictical system needs an overhaul. Inwhich people vote for policy's within parties not just parties themselves.

They just use that as their excuse and then say "look what we found while we were searching you for weapons".

As I said before I'd very much like to know how extensive they're searches can be. A quick metal detection and rub down I can understand. But if they are going through personal belongings etc. I think it's very unethical and also insulting.

Wow thats pretty harsh man, im use to seein all this crap tho. Its all over the world especially where i lived (Europe). They have the right n power to search u anytime without a consent. I constantly think why cant they do better things for the communities? Busting criminals like murderers, rapist and burgalars etc etc. Dont see what harm ur average Joe would cause with his half gram weed in his pocket. I know sum will say but addicts will commit crimes, well i spend my hard earnt money with work so can most of the people.

True, we need to organise a national day of protest. You can only get so many people in regards to some laws so the day of protest should include anyone who feels hard done by the government. If they have been ripped of with rates, tax's, abandonded after a war or what not.

This would just lead to populism in which laws would become even more harsh.

I'm sorry but this sounds ridiculous. This is also what our elections are supposed to be.
Remember anything the government imposes on us is supported by a significant percentage of the population. Plus the protest would just consist of mulitple counter protest (angry at the government for allowing abortion, angry at the government for not giving full access to abortion)
