Megathread The Netflix Mega-thread vs Netflix Originals Suck

I absolutely cannot STAND people who abuse animals also!
That show was heartbreaking for me to see the animal abuse.
It made me cry and I cannot believe that it was legal in any way for anyone to keep animals like that.
The Exotic pet trade needs to stop.
I was glad that Joe Exotic dickhead got 21 years in a cage.
That should give him some time to think about what he did!!

OMG! I couldn’t even finish reading your story about the dolphin. 😩😩😩☹☹☹😢😡😡
I love dolphins so much. I love Tigers, Lions, ALL animals!

I would aggressively attack anyone I saw keeping animals like that!
I agree with how you feel so much.
I hate to see animals in cages.

When they showed that beautiful snow leopard or clouded leopard that guy had in a tiny cage just locked in 120 degree van, I wanted to strangle that guy! I cannot believe the other guy who saw that and did say something about it just let it go.
I want to kill them both for that honestly.

Is it against the law now to own exotic animals like that???
If it is not, We should be speaking up for the animals.
LOUDLY!!
same exact reaction as me sister dont worry atleast when they go to heaven they will be at peace and be with their families again take care painful one if its really effecting you mentally feel free to pm me if you want to talk about it x

hey anyone know if Netflix have got any offers on because of corona like amazon prime who now are letting people stream for free while were in
lock down I only like Netflix though but dont want to spend money on anything other than my doc if I can help it, I used to use my girlfriends account but she cant afford it now apparently

Thanks for letting me know about the free amazon prime.
I might be able to watch The Walking Dead on that! 😁

I do not know if Netflix is having anything free. I have Netflix and Disney.
My daughter hooked me up with those for Christmas.

Merlin is excellent on Netflix.
I highly recommend that one.

What can people like us do though maybe if we got a petition or raised some money to pay for them to be put back in the wild your post made me sad because it reminded me how much it effected me like it still does beleive me but the first time I read and seen it I think I didn't feel right for days I felt just as angry as you I wish I knew you irl because I can tell you are genuine in how you feel you are a very nice person but please pm me if you need to because i know how badly it can effect you something so despicable and shocking and evil to happen to an innocent happy dolphins the worse for me was dolphins are smart fuckers so she probably knew 100% what was happening to her and humans were responsible that's why she attacked and killed her trainer in a show I dont like even talking about it but it annoys me how little people know what goes on behind the scenes or stage

their is a lot of evil things in this world I have seen lots of fucked up things that is one of the worst other people woldnt agree they probably wouldn't even see the big deal this I think secretly is the reason I do drugs mainly opiates mainly heroin

What we can do is check out the laws in our state and country and call our House of Representative and Governor or write letters and demand that people cannot keep exotic wild animals!
I think the Law did get changed over all those Tigers and Bears and cougars and stuff being let out of their cages and they were all over the freeway and neighborhoods and the police had to kill them.
I remember when that happened. I heard it on the radio when I was driving to work.

I am pretty sure the laws got changed and tightened up when that happened.
People were outraged.

I also support PETA and Greenpeace.
I send them monthly checks.
They actively hunt down poachers and are a large group of people that stand up for animal rights.
They have huge resources at their disposal.
I have seen them with a whole lot of high tech boats out catching people who whale hunt. Etc.

Also, we can not support places like Sea World.
I shame any family member or friend that goes there.

We have a voice. Use it!
You would be surprised what changes you can get to happen.

That show Tiger King was good because I am sure that many, many other people felt the same way as we did my friend.
Lots of people together can get things done!
I am sure groups like greenpeace are all over that now.

People like us are highly sensitive to abuse of any and all living beings because we are connected and we feel their pain.
When we hurt other creatures (creations) we hurt ourselves.
We are all connected.
Anyone who knows WHO THEY ARE (and there are a lot of US) will not tolerate this kind of behavior and ignorance from others.
It is good that we feel this so acutely. I know it is painful. I use morphine for chronic pain. I know exactly what you mean about maybe this is the reason I use heroin.
It hurts our very soul. I have not figured out how to shield myself properly.
Maybe there is no way to shield ourselves from it so we numb ourselves.
I am still working on that one.
I do not have an answer yet sweetheart.
I think we probably feel maybe a little close to a “normal” level of what most people feel when we are numbed quite honestly.

I also support PETA and Greenpeace.

Why PETA? They kill around 90% of perfectly healthy animals in their "shelters".

On topic:

Been watching Community and Brooklyn Nine Nine since those popped back up, but I'm gonna get to watching Tiger King soon, hearing a lot of good things and it seems right up my street.

I wonder if Netflix will do a dramatisation of the life of John McAfee? I'd watch the shit out of that...

Had to reply for the +1 on the McAfee. My wife doesn't really enjoy much of anything in general (MDD) & McAfee's antics are one of the few things in life that I can show / tell her about & make her :). I'd love to see them make something out of it. She'd love that shit. Great idea. (y)

As for Netflix I'm on a slight hiatus. Switched over to Hulu to watch Hellsing & Hellsing Ultimate. I watched part of Hellsing back in college but it's been enjoyable checking it out again. Ultimate definitively has much higher production value but I enjoyed the original as well despite the quality / resolution.
I'm looking forward to watching the last 2 episodes of Ultimate tonight actually. :D

In terms of Netflix the last thing I watched was as some others in the thread mentioned; How to Fix a Drug Scandal. It is indeed quite bat shit how long & what she got away with. Not to mention the court systems reaction & corruption but honestly that's to be expected. The getting away with shit like she did for so long is more surprising to me. I must admit I laughed when she couldn't remember if she had tested / filled out any drug forms on the day she decided to try some liquid LSD on top of her crack. I was surprised that apparently yes she did the paperwork at least while rocking that combo. Some shit is just humorous regardless.

Seeing as I don't know if everyone posting on about the show has watched the final episodes (I think someone mentioned being on S1 E3? My memory sucks & I'm to lazy to hit the back button ;)) I won't give commentary on the final conclusions. As I believe most of the wrap up stuff was in last episodes IIRC.

I haven't decided what next to watch on Netflix. I'm considering Surviving Escobar: Alias JJ. Jhon Jairo Velásquez Vásquez was an interesting individual. I've followed various things he's been involved with over the years. Being autistic & not fully understanding others that well has left me quite fascinated with humanity. How various environmental (social, economic, etc.) factors affect human development & such. Most of the content I've consumed in the past documentary wise has been foreign language. I haven't seen much English content involving him. This drama might be the first English work I've considered watching involving him. I generally prefer to watch documentaries that are natively produced in their respective countries of origin. I find American documentaries tend to overly sensationalize things. Though any documentary can be guilty of that. :\

Though in this case the show is a drama as opposed to a documentary to the best of my knowledge. I haven't looked at information regarding a lot of Netflix titles besides a quick overview. As for today I'm gonna give Hulu a whirl again & watch a episode or 2 of 'Bong Appetit' while I'm stuck sitting around for a bit. Get some inspiration & ideas to pass along to our edible hook up as they take custom orders. Anything from custom ice cream flavors to full dinners they do it. Not to shabby for living in the middle of nowhere on the East Coast in a non recreational state. I digress though.

Cannabis & food porn all in one is relatively entertaining regardless of how much I like / dislike (or am intensely jealous of =D) the people consuming it. 😁 Some of that shit looks pretty damn tasty even if I couldn't eat it ATM. Between this off-topic foray & the chocolate thread I think I need to get off BL & grab a snack. 🧁

@Buzz Lightbeer decided to give Mad Men a second chance since I hadn't in 6 or 7 years; am really loving it right now. In the third season already. Wife and I are binging it together. Also gets us excited for some uh, well... you know, man and wife type stuff after lol.

Nice :)
I miss Mad Men, wish I could forget it and watch it all over, or that they still made this kind of dramas.

Yeah it's like... a drawn out 60s period piece. I love the 60s, it was my favorite period to study when I was in school for history. I really hate Game of Thrones (they never give you an INCH to enjoy) but luckily Mad Men doesn't make every good character lose all the time. I love seeing Peggy come into her own. I love seeing Pete cry like a baby. I feel a genuine caring for many characters, and they don't just get killed off, and the ones I hate seem to be getting their comeuppance from time to time and that helps keep me interested.

Exactly. I liked the latter half of the series even better than the first half. It's so atmospheric and the writing and dialogues makes it so that the pacing of all scenes is almost perfect. I always thought it was a very funny show too.

I've been watching Better Call Saul (which is an amazing new season) and the third season of Twin Peaks, which I have mixed feelings about. I feel like I'm just taking a ride through the deepest depths of Lynch's brain and by now I've given up on trying to make sense of it all. I'm not even sure if I enjoy it that much but I've gone through all that, there's no way I stop watching.

I felt exactly the same lol. The original two seasons and Fire Walk With Me are wayyy better imo. The Return I consider to be almost separate from the rest of it. Like an alternate timeline or something. The ending was decent though. Well, two endings ;)

Started watching “you “ on Netflix, it’s a mix of sex in the city and dexter, pretty good .

Started this the other day, now up to s1e5.

Forget it. Netflix made it into 13 ep each for S1 & S2. By S1e9, we started in with the soap opera romantic drama aspects and lost the quick paced mind games. I made it to S2e5 before saying 'fk it'. IMDB ratings told everyone to ignore S3 & S4 as it went downhill, and if the last 6 ep I watched are an indication....seems the writers had a great idea and no way to wrap it up or milk it well for a multi-season tv series. Moving on.

That one annoyed me at times (idiotic rich Americans) but it was good enough that I had to keep watching.

The second season is actually better than the first imo. I guessed the ending right from the first episode but still enjoyed it. Plus it has more drugs.

Totally agree. Becks annoyed the hell out of me .

Yeah it made it very hard to feel any sympathy for the characters. Which I guess is kind of the point, but it made it more difficult to engage with the show.

Beck's friend, whatever her name is, was fucking horrible and I spent the whole thing hoping she'd just get killed off already.

It makes for a decent psychological thriller though. The way they did Joe was very good, one of those "get inside a disturbed mind" type things. Not anywhere near the same level as Joker, which absolutely killed that whole genre, but still it was decent TV.

Watch The Midnight Gospel if you've ever felt you needed to be watching Waking Life, Yellow Submarine, and Evangelion all at the same time.

  • Haha

Started watching Final Space the other day, decently amusing when you're stoned. I also wanna check out that proper trippy looking one, Midnight Gospel.

Oh and I'm sure it's been mentioned on here before because it's a year old but How To Make Money Selling Drugs Online is decent. It is dubbed from German (iirc) but it's good. You got these two kids who set themselves up as DNM vendors selling MDMA haha.
