First show I ever went to was a Tom Petty show
Stevie Nicks came out and they did American Girl

Was amazeballs

in 8th grade i won tickets to the into the great wide open tour on the radio. it was the first show i went to without an adult. my buddy's dad sat in the car while we took sips of beers from the high school dudes next to us on the lawn. it was fun as fuck. i rocked my tom petty shirt at school the next day.

Mine was Smashing Pumpkins in 96. The day before the show Jonathan Melvoin OD'ed so it got rescheduled to sometime later on in 96.

my parents took me to ray charles and willie nelson when i was like 10. fucking epic. it's their fault that i spent most of my youth chasing bands around the country.

^ Lickin' dat ChickenSnatch.

My first concert experience is easily the lamest one. When I was 7 or 8 my school had a Christin-influenced, Anti-Drug Hair Metal band perform at an assembly and they gave us all a really bright pink t-shirt that said something like "Keep on rocking above the influence" (which makes it my first concert tree, I guess). Incidentally, that may have something to do with why I'm an atheist stoner now.

This was your peak.

All joking aside- gnarly.

first show i ever went to was deftones in 2000. taproot opened for them if i remember correctly. it was pretty awesome.

^ that's pretty cool. how much of it do you remember?

alasdair

i remember being there, and i remember the feeling the music gave me. i was too young to really know many of the songs, but the feeling was something i'll never forget. i do remember the Georgia on My Mind encore. and i remember riding home with my parents in the car just glowing. it was like experiencing your first orgasm, or something. just a really good feeling that i'd never felt before. i know this is some serious sappy bullshit, but it's real talk, yo!

Willie and Ray were just perfect together. I spin the stuff they did together on the reg.

:chillbumps

I remember my first musical performance. My best bud, Abraham Q. Wentworth, had just gotten over the zings and we were watching a picture show starring a young up-and-comer named Buster Keaton. It just so happened the speakeasy across the street was hosting none other than Mamie Smith herself! Abe, being the muttonheaded fogey that he was, decided to hit the hay early so I gave him the ol' wet sock and high-tailed it around the bend. Was jitterbuggin' til the wee hours of the morning. Best five cents I EVER spent.
