The Most Visual Psychedelic Thread

Hey there everyone, I'm a very long time lurker (maybe 4 or 5 years) and virgin poster. So, consider my cherry popped! xD Although pointless because very few people will actually read or care about this, but thank you BlueLight for always having a thread that pertains to just about every damn question I have about substances, no matter how obscure or seemingly idiotic! Haha, I've found info from the countless threads I've read very useful at times in the past so thanks for having my back!

Back to the topic, though! I'd say 5-MeO-AMT takes the cake throughout all of my experiences with psychedelics which includes LSD numerous times, same with psilocybin, 2C-B a few times, DMT a bunch, 2C-E, 2C-I. I always research what I intend to consume but what 5-MeO-AMT taught me about my research was that at the time in question, it was fairly biased and I'd often overlook numerous warnings about body load (which I thought I had experienced the worst of with 2C-E, but oh man was I wrong) if I found a couple "glowing trip reports." After I had snorted 2mg and my visuals had started to increase in frequency, variance and all out level of distraction past anything I had tried before this point, I soon had trouble or could literally not distinguish what certains things or pictures were. Also, I found this to be mainly true in things that occurred in nature such as plants, I would perceive certain things as basic and utterly perfect geometric shapes. In more of a way than has ever happened to me on LSD where I'll notice the coincidental placings of my cigarette ash are in the shape of a david star on the ground or something haha. Then again, when taking LSD and all psychedelics for that matter, I tend to dose low to avoid uncomfort so maybe the same is achievable. But besides that remarkable visual tangent, I only recount similar rhings to which many others have already noted for a number of drugs like geometric/mystical shapes engrossing your entire field of vision to the point where it interferes so badly that you can't proceed with a planned movement or something like that. Definitely a very educating experience, something I wouldn't like to repeat or even similarly replicate.

As mentioned before, DMT is easily the most "in your face" in terms of visuals.
Then again, I'd say that my most impressive visuals have come from mushrooms or combnations involving them. As someone stated before mushrooms seem to cause more morphing in objects and the surroundings. First time I ate some cubes I was walking in a forest that first became a swamp, and then a dessert.
Combining mushies with 2-ct-2 gave some nice eye-candy, although the experience lacked depth.
My maybe most mindblowing experience was last weekend, when I ate 2 hits of acid 2,6 grams of syrian rue and 0,7 grams of mushies. It was my first time combining acid with shrooms (first time using a MAO-I too) and it lived up to the hype I've heard.
Usually I get more visuals inside than outside, but this time was different. When we went outside the ground kept forming troll faces. We walked to some nearby woods and started climbing a steep hill. The path we climbed had roots all over it, and they formed humanoid faces with open mouths. At the same time the boulders and plants around us started forming dwarf heads. It was like climbing up a hill made of dwarf head statues with eyebrows of moss. The highest ones were around 2 meters in height, crazy shit. =D

I also feel LSD and bromo-bragonfly are worth mentioning in terms of visuals, although acid starts off with colour enchancement and gets more visual at higher doses.

who has seen a white light, kind of like a camera flash while tripping? Tryptamines seem to commonly produce that visual at high doses for me

That seriously sounds like a typical 100ug+ LSD trip for me. Interesting though because I find I don't really get closed eye visuals as I mentioned, I must be really sensitive to open eye visuals though.

I've seen things man :P

I found 2C-E lacked a psychedelic headspace. For me, it was repetitive/loopy visuals with nothing much else. Hence the reason I didn't enjoy it. For some though a trip filled with only visuals and nothing else can be more enjoyable though.

Hmm. While this is about the visual aspects of substances, in this context where a person is "not on the right set of mind" and thinking of taking 2C-E, i just have to say it:

It does have quite a bit of 'mindfuck' and a noticeable headspace. It's just extremely different. Mushrooms and LSD can easily range from "fun adventures" to extremely confusing and difficult. 2C-E is profoundly neutral and coldly logical. You seem to gain a purely 'objective' perspective of things, beyond opinion so to speak. That is to say, if you're having problems in your life, you will analyze it. With pure logic. It is less scary than having similar thoughts in most other substances, but it does tend to be more profound. You might actually learn from it. Or it might trigger a strong depression.

I once overheard a very, very bad argument between two people during a 2C-E trip and i seemed to be completely detached from it, looking it through an objective viewpoint. I understood it perfectly, i saw both sides but it caused no emotional distress: I felt like a robot.

But it's when you come up to an objectively and logically beautiful idea, that's when 2C-E truly shines. Not even MDMA can trigger in myself a stronger empathogenic state in such an event. The massive synesthesia that commonly occurs on higher doses makes this even more ineffable. My first experience was completely ridiculous: I spent it with two friends in a log cabin in the middle of the summer: Here in the north it doesn't get dark during the night so a better part of the experience was spent on a dusk-like environment with a very colorful(and not-so-blue) sky. I don't intend on making this a trip report so i'll be prompt: The very symmetric geometric visuals(such as tree leaves turning into a repeating pattern) coupled with the profound auditory hallucinations(with good music) and the logical and analytical mindset basically caused me to cry from happiness. And i don't cry from pain or sadness.

It'd be incorrect to say it can't be as profound mentally as any other more classic psychedelic such as mushrooms and acid. It's just different. It's neither scary nor fun. It feels objective and logical. Scary things will be appreciated on their own merits, the same with 'fun' things. I find this neutrality to be the very best aspect of the substance and i need to repeat that it is very profound. Very. I'd say it's perhaps the most setting-dependent substance i've tried. Good music, good things to watch(movies, nature, whatever) and good company = You will most certainly experience something beautiful(but perhaps not fun) mentally.

Maybe i'm alone with this but i specifically enjoy 2C-E because of its mental effects. I've certainly had more mindfuck with it than with LSD or even LSA. Not always though, it really depends on the set and setting. At the very least i honestly cannot suggest ingesting it if your mind isn't ready for any other psychedelic.

Still, things are subjective and this is my opinion. Now, to make the discussion more on-topic again:

I'd imagine the most visual substance to be DMT. I've never tried it though but i know its reputation very well. I have tried Salvia and while i have difficulty categorizing it as a true psychedelic(the 'visuals' are far too realistic and life-like) that'd probably be the answer.

From the more "regular" ones i'd put my order as: DOC = 2C-E > Mushrooms(liberty caps, the others tend to be less visual for me) = 4-ACO-DMT > LSD > 2C-T-7 > DOI. I've tried others but not recently enough to fully remember them. Out of those, i'd say a +2mg dose of DOC and +18mg with 2C-E have easily rivaled over 500mcg of LSD for me in the sheer intensity of visuals. I do find more to visuals than intensity and strength though, which is why LSD is probably still my favorite. 2C-E on the other hand is both very intense and quite enjoyable, i'd put that as my close second in that regard.

I will be trying DMT next month so i'll see for myself. I have expectations of it but somehow i feel they will be shattered completely.

The thing with DMT is not that it's not only "visuals" in the classic sense, there are real hallucinations with doses that don't have to be heroic. The first few times I smoked it I wasn't too impressed (based on my excpectations), due to smoking a quite low dose and not really mastering the smoking technique. But the first breakthrough, man, there are no words. It's more like images than visuals for me, like real imagery of beings, plants, landscapes etc with breakthroughs. And they feel so real, so in your face, it's unbeliavable.

With other compounds the doses often have to be (very) high to get spectacular visuals, with DMT this is achieved with moderate doses (sub-breakthrough). There's no need for heroic doses to see otherwordly things.

Yeah this is what i hear a lot and it's what interests me in it. Salvia was very intense as far as realistic hallucinations go but i can't say it was profound: The entire time i understood that i was under the influence of a substance and that whatever i saw were hallucinations. Completely realistic and different from the reality, but i still knew. It's a hard-to-explain feeling: How can a "true" hallucination even be understood as one? It kind of goes against the definition.

I expect DMT to be contrary to that. In any case, i feel whatever i imagine it to be, will be proven wrong once i do try it. For better or for worse.

I'll keep that in mind. I've actually read people going on about how DOC isn't very visual unless you take beyond 7mg or some other such nonsense. For me 2.4mg feels just as intense visually as ~570mcg(give or take a few micrograms) of LSD. Or even more so. So, not a fan of heroic doses in general. :)

Up until this week, I would have agreed with the majority who have tried DMT and consider this to be the most visual. But then I smoked 500µg of 25i-NBOMe just after the peak of a high dose 5-MeO-MiPT trip (9mg rectal). I experienced the morphing of clouds etc that I have only seen on LSD and post-orgasm, the closed eye visuals were richer, more complex and more solid than anything I have seen on DMT.

DMT still takes the biscuit though when it comes to open eye visuals. On the way into a breakthrough once, my cat and I both had twice as many arms as we should have and both of us were amazed by this fact.

Next time I will try 1000µg 25i-NBOMe earlier into the 5-MeO-MiPT experience.

DMT - although I'm rather convinced that instead of, you know, seeing visuals, whatever shit I see is actually there. It's a metaphysical orgasm.
A breakthrough hit of salvia can also be just as visual (though it's hard to compare).

Most other psychedelics will pull you into dissociative ego-death territory with high enough doses, and these can be pretty comparable in some ways to the DMT sensorium, but these are higher doses than most users are willing to take. With DMT, an active dose = hyperspace.

I've noticed that with some of the 2Cs increasing the dose tends to increase the visuals in a very... linear way. The visuals intensify proportionally to the dose - at higher doses they obscure the whole visual field, but still look exactly like the stuff you see at lower doses. Not as impressive as DMT or high-dose LSD, for example, and much more problematic, as the visuals do not sporadically appear and disappear - they persist until the comedown.

3mg of 25i was so visual, that the visuals didn't even really matter anymore.
There was just so much I couldn't comprehend it.

The amount of scenery slicing was beyond me.. And the tracers were so intense, my whole visual feild was tracering.
So I'd look down 1 street, turn around and see the same thing for 30 seconds.

I couldn't even find the door to my own house, ebcause there was 2 doors!
I just aimed inbetween both doors, and made it.

I can't really explain the visuals, because they were too intense that I stopped noticing them. I just lived in my mind.

who has seen a white light, kind of like a camera flash while tripping? Tryptamines seem to commonly produce that visual at high doses for me

I have, on 2 occasions. These were both ++++ on Shulgin's scale.
Eyes wide open for god knows how lang and it was like closing my eyes slowly, only instead of getting black everything became white, and my eyes *were* open, apparently.
Reminded me of LOST Season5 ending.

i have, but oddly enough, only on MXE, and once at the tail end of a LSD trip. but what a trip that was :D never ahd it with tryptamines though...

Among those familar with dmt, I guess there would be no agrument that dmt is BY FAR the most visual psychedelic...but visuals aren't everything in a psychedelic.by a long shot. I've received more rewarding experiences from dpt, lsd, mescaline, lsa, 5-meo-dmt, dxm, mxe, amanitas, other mushrooms (you know the kind) ayahuasca (mainly vine) but that;s just me.

Second to that would be A.P. extracted vaporized bufotenine...actual I might put this first in terms of sheer visual intensity...but the color palet and variety of visual themes are more limited (then dmt). But again I did not find this chem very rewarding.

Question ..why do I need to log-on every five minutes in order to stay logged on? Does this happen to everyone, or is it just me? Very annoying!

I vaporized 25i-nbome and i gotta say its quite the contender to something like dmt, definitely

What do we mean by 'most visual'?

highest ratio of visual to other effects?
highest ratio of visual to mental effects?
most prominent visuals at the high end of well tolerated doses?

ebola

^It's whichever you want. PDers like the shoot from the hip, so even if you asked one question you'd end up hitting the others. It'd be nice if people explained in their answers just what they meant though. Or maybe the OP just didn't think of asking.

Here let me distract you with a lil' something from my book of translated Korean poetry:

The night has sallowed the village.
The frog sounds have swallowed the night.
One, two, three...
The lamplight dashes through the frog sounds.

At last the drunkard moon
Sneaks out and vomits
A landscape painted in silver.

(Poem of the Old Garden, Jong-Han Kim)

In terms of short-acting psychedelics, I would definitely rank DMT at the top. For a longer trip (2-4 hours) DPT is quite visual. I've read that 2C-T-7 can have insane visuals for some people. LSD is up there for certain.

I believe DOC deserves a strong mention. In addition to being incredibly visual phenomenologically, the visuals (for me) are strongly influenced by the mental effects. I've had "transdimensional visuals"--in the sense that normal 3D space seems to have a fuller dimension, more depth, and time seems visually manifested--on a number of substances (2C-E, DMT, and MXE), but this took an added character on DOC. I had a peculiar sensation of existing "in between" time (existing in between individual moments or somesuch) and this was embellished by visual sensations. Additionally, while sitting down and spacing out at my hand, the normally mountain/desert landscape was transformed into a divine, lush jungle. Finally, while laying and daydreaming, visions similar to conscious dreams would often occur.
