The most disturbing film you have seen?

oldboy.jpg

Old Boy. While not the goriest, it is still very disturbing.

I forgot about Old Boy, yes that was a pretty disturbing film.. I like how Asian culture can make western movies about revenge seem laughable in comparison.

Ive been on a hunt for the most disgusting and vile movies I could find, and so far these are the ones that take the cake:

A Serbian Film
Gummo
Pink Flamingos
Martyr
Grotesque

My favorite out of all of these being A Serbian Film. I felt the need to take a shower after watching it.

Im pretty sure most people in here have seen the movies you listed. Sadistic killers in movies are easy to emulate because they are always in control. Im sorry you were bullied/abused. Take control of your own life in a positive way, pick better role models.

^Seconded.

Ya, they are mentally challenged by the sounds of it. I could feel myself going postal just reading about it. Very Sad for those poor victims Familys, geezus that was such a depressing read let alone watch the damn thing. NO, every fibre in my being doesnt need to see people/Animals get horribly murdered/tortured IRL.

Definitely not advisable to watch the thing. I unsuspectedly watched it at a friend's house when it was first 'published' online, and truly have been haunted by the mental image of that helpless man with screwdrivers stabbed into his abdomen and his eyeballs. Undoubtedly the sickest human act I have ever witnessed...

ok how about Antichrist, Irreversible, Dogtooth,Valhalla Rising, these are all really good too, slightly disturbing...and for a documentary "the wild and wonderful whites of west virginia"

I recently saw Angst. The most amazing thing about it is probably that it was made in 1983. It's definitely a first of its kind -- of the uncompromising, brutal, nihilistic, killing innocents for the hell of it genre (not that I've seen a lot of that genre, I'm just pretty sure there wasn't anything else quite like this in 1983)-- and it's actually pretty impressive. The experimental camera work reminds me of "Pi," of all things. Originally it was banned all over for violence, though I think what people were really objecting to was the matter-of-factness of its presentation. I think that it was done artfully enough that it couldn't reliably be called exploitation is part of what makes it unsettling. Reportedly Gasper Noe drew inspiration from it. There's nothing in it that's really dated, either. The only place you're likely to find it without buying it is on torrent sites...
