The Mega-Merged Buprenorphine Thread!

I felt a slight high the first day I started on suboxone, but that quickly ceased to be.......they have me on 24mg/day which is, by many people's standards, pretty high....I don't get high off of it at all now (been on it for almost a month).....just makes me feel mentally stable.....no cravings or anything.......I think you'll find that it can take up to a week for your body to get accustomed to it.......for the first few days, it was giving me constipation, difficulty urinating, and making me a little drowsy, but that all has subsided....
 
yea, I find that the mild highness you might feel is because (a) you went from a poppy seed habit to a strong drug, and (b) the drug tends to have a different feeling, more noticablely different from any of the different opiates and opioids...it subsides pretty quickly and you will still have the positive mental perks involved with taking this drug. Meanwhile, it is a deterent to try and use other narcotics, since you have to wait 24 hours (at least, and I would think it is more like 36+ hours)...

Anyway, I wouldn't up your dose at all, especially if you have no WDs. In fact, try and lower it (for economic reasons, etc). Though, I am not sure--are you trying to quit for good or just going through a WD period.

If you are trying to quit, don't try and take more to get high--simply take as directed and stay cool. BTW, 16 mgs is high, even if you had a decent habit (aside from the seeds, since I remember you saying you did other PKs)

thats my PROBLEM with these so called "miracle workers"..yes, ty eliminate withdrawals and even make ya feel kinda good, BUT the docs seem to want to get you hooked on it so they have their solid source of cash...i see no reason why they wouldnt offer SUBOXONE to addicts in 5- day supllies..reason is, most addits cannot afford to pay for a 6 month stay on the drug, and they dont want to go the methadone route, so they continue to live a fcked up, dopesick lif...

t you guys on suboxone, do your doctors seem to WANT you to detox eventually, or do they seem to content with upping yer doses??
 
How long after suboxone dose until I can use opiates?

Ok its been 24hrs since my last recreational dose of suboxone. I have used 2 8mg pills in the past week or two. So my ? is how long is it until I can use regualr opiates like hydrocodone and be able to feel there effects?
 
probably not long since you haven't been doing them regularly.....I'd give it 48hours, but you might even be able to get high NOW, who knows???
 
i have a few buddies that are on SUBOXONE and they have told me they wait until AT LEAST the 24 hour mark, and then slam down some dope..i will say these people are heroin users, so im not sure if using VICODEN or some lesser opiod would do the trick...

i thought suboxone killed cravings and gave people a nice, but mild "mood lifting" effect???
 
How many mg's was your last dose? If it was1-2mg you could just go ahead and take the hydrocodone.

I am one of the strange people who enjoy bupe. If I take it for lets say two days with 2mg each time early in the day I can take an full agonist after 24hours with good effect.

actually HASH4life from what i gather, MOST people on BUP maintenance seem to enjoy its mood-elevating effects..

question to you subozone users, how often can you piss dirty before you kicked off of treatment???or is it lie methadone clinics, u can piss dirty as long as ya want, just so you give them the cash??
 
Subutex/Suboxone Rx mistake by doctor - reply ASAP

Innitially, i was Rx'd Subutex 2MG tabs. when i went in today to get my refill script, I was Rx'd Suboxone 8MG/2MG . I know that subutex contains no narcan, and my new Rx contains 4 more MGs of bupe and 2 MGs of narcan. My question is - will I be thrown into withdrawl if i take this new medication? I think he made a mistake and instead of Rx'ing me subutex 2mg , he Rx'd Suboxone 8/2MG. So - will i be thrown into WDs if i take the new meds? Should i tell my doc, or just take the 8s?
 
If you are taken the pills orally then there will be no problem. Naloxone only works when adminstered via IV.
 
so i won't get acute WD symptoms if i sublingually administer the 8mg Suboxone? Will i get high?? I was on 2mg Subutex --- so maybe the extra 4 will buzz me? thanks
 
If you take the suboxone sublingually than you should be alright. I don't think you'll get high because you are already on the medicine..

maybe, there's no way to tell......I would break an 8mg in half and take it subligually and see how you feel....

The naloxone in suboxone is ONLY there to prevent IV use.....when its taken sublingually or even insufflated, the naloxone won't do shit......you'll be fine......just dont shoot'em!!!!!!
 
Thanks. I took one about an hour ago and i feel a little bit high. Do you guys think my doctor made a mistake in writing the prescription? Because before i was taking 2MG Subutex.... and he was saying "yes i think this is a good maintainence dose for you" ..then he left a RX with his nurse for me for 8MG Suboxone.. just seems weird that he'd do that - so im guessing it was an error. But a very good error i suppose :) I guess i should just play dumb until the next time i need to get it refilled and say " well the last one was 8MG i thought you Rxd me that intentionally ...for a reason" or something like that

doesn't seem like you should increase your subutex dose. kinda defeating the purpose?
 
^^^yeah If you're on em for maintenance you shouldn't be taking them to get high......If you feel that you are getting too much, you could always save some for a later date, you know??
 
The whole point of Suboxone relies on the poor bioavailability of the naloxone via sublingual route.

You will soon get a tolerance to the higher dose of buprenorphine if you take it every day - better to stay on a 2mg dose (1/4 tablet) if that's holding you and save the rest for special occasions.
 
break it into 4s and only do your prescribed dose. No reason to increase your tolerance--take it from people who know.

And--I may be wrong, but sublingually, naloxone is partially active, meaning, with high nuff doses, you can throw yourself into WDs. I don't know about the literature, but it happened to me. Anyway, consider yourself lucky.
