the market: stocks, bonds, options, whatever

I'm still convinced somebody, or a group out there, is manipulating these prices to try to get rich.
When all that's going to happen is they get scammed.

liquidations.

the Fed chair pick might have been the trigger but it's Friday at the end of the month, probably a lot of people jumped in to buy during the small dips with leverage then KABOOM on Friday

remember what happened with Bitcoin in October

leveraged trading has really taken off since COVID

Dunno why auld Trumpton had to lie about 'catching his hand on a desk' or something like that, with that bruising to his hand.

It's obviously bruising caused by a medical injection into a vein on his hand. (I had a few not too long ago, in the exact same spot, and I presume that it's a commonly used site for certain types of injections) And old people just do bruise so much more heavily and for so much longer. Especially if he's on other meds, to as he alluded to. (My bruise was tiny in comparison and cleared up completely within a couple of days IIRC. And I'm in my mid 50s.)

An injection is nothing he needs to hide, but of course his ego wont allow any admissions of potential weaknesses, as I'm sure he's the fittest, healthiest president ever in his own mind, and won't have anyone else thinking otherwise.

Not sure how to make this on topic, other than by questioning the effects on the markets if Trump was to be taken seriously ill at any point during his term, or if something even worse were to happen.

I guess it depends entirely on the competence of his deputies and stand in people, which I admit I don't know anything about.

I hope it doesn't sound too cold to speculate about such things. I'm sure I'm not the only one wondering about such things though. I'm not exactly a Trump supporter, especially in terms of many of his policies and statements and actions, but I can't deny that there is never a dull moment when Trump's around. (News stations viewing figures proved as much, with viewer numbers well down after Trump lost the previous election, and fell out of the spotlight, and I'm sure they would have risen with the run up to the most recent election, and everything Trump's been involved in since. His self-publicity abilities, and ability to dominate the news headlines all around the world, are obviously one of his key strengths. All he needs to do most of the time is to just post anything on his social media stream and the worldwide media is all over it. It's really no wonder he has such an ego.)

Would be crazy if silver actually recovers and makes a new all-time high within a couple months or less

I'm still in the black on silver so gonna hold it and see what happens.

I just crunched the numbers on my options account and not only was January my first profitable month but I also smashed my targets with a 50% total gain. I only trade 0-10 DTE so it was all just January trades.

Most of it came in the last two weeks from all the volatility, I locked in and churned contracts like an animal.

I was back on the grind today, slow start to the month but a few bucks profit is still better than a loss

JP Morgan apparently closed their silver shorts right at the bottom, lucky or engineered crash

U.S. needs an inflation hawk now so yeah markets might take some shocks but what are you gonna do when food costs alone are blowing through the CPI

fuck off with cheaper iPhones, give us affordable burgers made with real meat and no hormones and antibiotics and cows fed with Skittles and garbage :S

$AMD down in postmarket despite 16% EPS beat, going to be watching this in premarket
$SMCI posted a 40% EPS beat and looks set to rally tomorrow
