Shrooms are your best bet ;)

I bet, tis the season now...plus I love MDMA, and all other serotonergics I assume (LSD being a positive exp.) So maybe Ill switch over to psychadelics for a while :)

lol Someone has beef with EN!

IME, opiates don't lose their "magic." If a certain dose isn't working out, a higher one most likely will!
IME once tolerance develops, to get to the same level of euphoria, you get a lot more sedation and some other side effects. also that level of euphoria just doesnt feel as 'clean' as if you are at baseline tolerance

The magic is definately gone for me, after 2 years of daily use and needing 200MG to catch any type of euphoria it has became a pain in the ass. Living in fear of withdrawal while trying to maintain a career and a marriage gets old quick. The key of course is to do it in moderation which is hard with something like OC, paticularly when you have a few hundred in your posseison every month. Maybe some people have the willpower to control their use; not me.........................Peace

Well to say drug use has no positives at all is to be as blind as the kiddies that say it has no negatives. Its just up to you personally to decide what value it has to your life, does it add or detract?

So I've read through the whole thread and keep asking myself, have opiates lost their magic?

I certainly remember the numerous times I've been sick, that awful, awful feeling where you can barely pull yourself off the bed/couch to go to the bathroom cause you are so sick. The magic is certainly lost on me there.

Then there's the times when I'm so fucking broke that I'm eating ramen for a week straight and don't even have gas money to go meet up with my friends to hang out. The magic is certainly lost on me there.

Sometimes I'll do Oxy/Heroin a couple days in a row, but not enough to get me very sick when I quit doing it. However, then the depression and anxiety kicks in. It seems when I've done enough Oxy/H enough days in a row to get sick, the sickness seems to cover up a lot of the anxiety/depression. The magic is lost on me here as well.

However, when I think about when I go and score some dope, especially when I haven't done it in a couple of days.....Damn I love it. The magic is still there.

In fact, that's all I can wait for, tomorrow, when I'll have some money to go score.

The only time I'd really consider using opiates these days is (A) during a really nasty stim comedown... anything that makes me feel better is welcome

^ Agreed. I've lost interest in opiates as well. Not to say they've 'lost their magic' because I still can get good and high from a relatively small dose. But, it's definitely not the same as my first few experiences with them, though. That was hella fun, probably owing a lot to their novelty; I mean, what drug isn't fun in the beginning? It's just that there are better drugs out there to be taken, IMO.

opiate beauty, just keep it to twice a month, and take a break in the autumn (for shrooms), and spring (for whatever else)

thens its all cool

ONLY TWICE A MONTH!!

I don't think opiates lose their magic per se, you can always get that mood lift even if you have to fight through tolerance. But something is only a novel experience the first time you try it and like any drug your brain and body will develop a familiarity with opiates and it becomes less of an amazing experience and more of a normal experience. Still pretty amazing though =D

of course. like anything, be it love, memories, or the paint on your house, the magic fades. you can never go back to the beginning and toally start over, and you typically have to keep upping the dose to get back to that special place inside.

As a low potency opioid addict (Tramadol, Codeine, Hydrocodone) I can say withdrawals worth it.
Opioids had crushed my wallet in the past -and still in the present, but it makes me *happy* and very functional, plus it helps me supress loneliness.
Some day, I may quit, but I dont realise my life without any opiate to be honest.
