Seitan bourguignon with baked creamy cabbage, decadent garlic mashed potatoes, sweet potato bake, green salad, prosecco and pumpkin pie and cannoli for dessert.

Happy thanksgiving to the Canuckian BLers out there!

Yeah, I hear you there. I think that DMT is pretty much the only reason I'm not still eating shit food.

By the way, do you think that I'd need a fairly powerful blender to grind raw oats into a smoothie? I think my blender is an average grade machine. Or, do you think I could try putting the oats in a coffee grinder, and then just mixing the powder into my smoothie with the blender?

Sorry man, didn't see this.

I bought the cheapest, shittiest blender money can buy (£10) and it does the job beautifully.

You put anything in that thing, a bit of liquid and ask yourself the real question at hand:

Will it blend?

That's when the real fun begins. :D

Thanks for the tips. I've got some interesting and oaty experimentation pending now! Perhaps worth a try: soaking the oats in the smoothie liquid overnight, and blending in the morning?

Oh, last thing I ate: some almond butter on a banana, and an apple.

Last think I drank: water, as always. ;)

Heheh honestly man, you don't need to soak them or anything. I just buy the raw, dry oats in 2KG bags and pile in about 2 or 3 heaped cups (2-300g) at least, then blend with the smoothie. Chuck a nice wee dram of whiskey in their for a nice bite too, during these cold mornings.
AS for the oats themselves, Scotland is infamous for our oats, we have the best oats in all the world, without a doubt. We're nae half keen oan oor porridge ken fit ah mean pal? Hell, just now I'm standing on a hill in a kilt playing the bagpipes and dousing myself in oats and whiskey.
But aye....what i'm trying to say is that I've grown up eating oats all my life and I don't think I've once cooked them. I actually hate porridge if i'm honest with you....I much prefer oats just chucked in a smoothie. Porridge, or doing what you intend on doing and soaking them, results in far too sloppy a texture.
Later today, how about you just chuck 100g of oats in that there smoothie of yours and see how you get on. You won't be disappointed...it adds a lovely texture to the smoothie. I'm fairly certain you won't die either....but if you do, can I have the rest of your oats?

Stir Fry and Beer :)

Heheh, sounds good my man. What time is it in Aussieland? It's 11am here...For a second there I thought you were having the breakfast of champions but then realised it must be night time or something! Isn't your summer jst starting aswell?

As for the thread, I can't eat, though I feel incredibly ravenous and downright nauseous with having not eaten in the 2 hours I've been awake. I don't know how ANYONE can go longer than 10 minutes without eating from waking up. I need to eat instantly upon waking, otherwise that's me fucked for the entire day. No matter how much I eat and how much energy shenanigans I have (ginseng, coffee, whatever) I am still lackadaisical and incredibly lethargic and just 'not right'.
I am in the midst of withdrawals though, and can never eat when in this state. Even water seems to disgust me at this point. It's annoying, because I want to eat. I've had a banana, but that's about all I can manage.

Curried Quinoa Salad with Mango (subbed peach for mango)

Mmm. Grains!

I made something very similar a few times over the summer and omg it was amazeballs. I need to make this again sometime soon. The citrus fruit with the spicy flavors blend so amazingly well. And everything in the recipe is healthful and full of vitamins and nutrients. Its practically just a meal in itself if you have a bowl of it.

I had spicy black bean soup, blue corn and flaxseed tortilla chips, and a mango for dessert.

I also created this weird concoction for breakfast in the morning. I don't remember where I read this idea, whether it was here on BL or on some other website somewhere. Anywho, what I did was put the following ingredients in a plastic container: 1/2 cup nonfat milk, 1 packet apple cinnamon oatmeal (I think it said to use steel cut oats, but that's what I had in my cabinet so yeah), half an apple chopped up, and a handful of raisins. Mixed it up and put it in the refrigerator overnight. I think the idea is that the oats absorb most of the milk and its just like a cold, fruity, chunky cereal in the morning. It could be gross, who knows lol. It sounded good so we'll see.

Flax, Pumpkin, Sunflower, Sesame seeds with Goji Berries, Theobroma Cacao nibs, Whey Protein, Whole Milk, 2 Banana's all blended in a FUCKING SMOOTHIE.

10 oz milk
several tbsp turmeric
1 tbsp honey
1 tbsp masala
(black pepper, ginger, cloves, cinnamon,
cardomom, nutmeg
)

poured into, shaken up, and drink-in from a water bottle.
addictive....
