The "I can't sleep" megamerged insomnia thread

Counting backwards from 100 helps...sometimes. I usually shy away even from mild sleep aids, as it's easy for me to oversleep with my usual medication.
 
Oh, you can also dive into the ancient art of dumpster diving. While this may sound shitty, it's actually quite fun and a rush if your a pansy like me who never lives on the edge.

I havn't gone in awhile but my past finds include a stack of 300 or so outdated porno magazines that were pulled from the shelf. About $700 worth of block buster gift certificate cards (yes, they all worked). Logins/passwords to company servers.. er.. wait, that one is a joke.. Yes, all a joke. Funny in office memos of people talking shit behind other employees backs. TelCo manuals and those spiffy orange hats they have as well as a Verizon lineman jumpsuit.

Just avoid locked dumpsters as that is breaking and entering. If your interested in the legaility of unlocked dumpsters call your local police department, they might laugh at you but they'll let you know.

It's really not gross at all if you go to the right places. Hitting up Bob's Discout Meat store obviously isn't a good target, however big retail stores and random businesses really don't have anything in their trash but paper and cool shit.

Kul69: your a bum. haha jk. i havent gone dumpster diving since i was like 14. good times though. i would always goto the Pacific Bell main building downtown and see what they had in there. I found some weird computer parts, endless prinouts of computer jargon. Onetime i went to a retail stores dumpster and found the thing they use to get the plastic anti-theft thing off of CD's they used to use years ago, it came in handy for the shoplifting of many cd's. =)

Or you can try and find someone to stay up with you. This thread is pertinent for me right now because I got wasted from last night until the morning. Then I slept, on and off, until 9pm. So I am fucked and I have to stay up for at least another 4-6 hours and that will fuck up my sleep pattern even more.

I look forward to more replies I think a lot of people have this problem. Although an obvious answer to solve this problem would be to got to sleep at a decent hour and wake up at a decent hour. 8)

Naturally Valerian does help. 5-HTP also helps with sleeping in me.

If it's really bad a drug called Stilknoxs works a treat. Available from your doctor, or an over the counter thing called Mersyndol! :D
