the guitar players megathread

okay, im gonna post a video of me jammin with some fellas but mainly because i want to know if someone can tell me what the exact model year etc of my guitar. its an ibanez - my best guess is the Artist series from the early 70s. pops bought it from a vintage guitar store in nyc about 6 years ago. the video is straight improv, we had fun.

We have no rules against guitar identification questions in NEMD. ;)
 
I own a Jackson DKMG from back when all I used to play was metal. Plugged into a big Line6 Spider II which sounds like shit to me now.

In fact I've given up electric guitar playing all together now. All about acoustic these days. I'm about 2 weeks away from being able to buy this. Can't wait!

yeah that insane channel is horrible. to be honest heavily distorted guitars hurt my ears now. it probably didn't help having a set of low end emg's in my jackson either, i could probably get a nicer sound out of it if i upgrated the pickups.

i especially like the straight "clean" channel and the "metal" channel on the spider ii

i had the 1x75 one, what size are the speakers in yours?

i sold my spider ii a couple years ago for cash to start my "herbal incense" business (which is now closed). i ended up making a few grand off of that endeavor so it was worth it, but i realllllllllyyy miss that amp.

i didn't say it was against the rules. i'm trying to help him help himself... it takes less time to type "dating an ibanez guitar" into google than it does to type out what he typed!

Yeah the hz's might be the problem. Actually the clean channel was pretty nice and I've had fun playing around with all the settings on it. I just feel like an amp that focuses so much on built-in effects may lack in over sound quality compared something by Orange or Engl for example, and using individual pedals for added effects could be a better option.

I think mines a 212, btw.
