Yeah, I'm definitely never going through that ever again. GBL was fun at first but I think that's the quickest honeymoon phase I've ever had with a drug... and it's the only one that has left me going through withdrawals! Some people seem to have drugs that just don't agree with them and I've now found mine!
The thing is though that I wouldn't say I was ever addicted to GBL mentally, I had urges to take it at points but it was something I could take or leave. I mean, during withdrawals I only really wanted to take it to be unconscious not to be under its effects.
I do feel I've built upon the experience now though. Kinda like after really introspective trips... I've got a new respect for alcohol now. I always used to treat it as the boring drug I'd do when nothing else was around or just drink because everyone else was drinking. Without alcohol there for me during the worst part of my withdrawals, I shudder to think what it would've been like. For someone that's never been through withdrawals before, it was an eye-opener. If chemicals can give you intense feelings of euphoria and well-being, then why not the opposite?
Good luck Aros2k
I know you remember how bad G WDs are (they're not something I'm going to forget, ever!)
