OMG, as a nurse for way too long, that made me cringe, wayyy worse than even the toilet..as I am sure everyone is aware, the human mouth has zillions of very dangerous bacteria...aww..hurts me to think about it.

You would probably actually be safer using the toilet water (seriously).

Well I dont really think anyone else who was participating did either, except maybe for the person who made that comment.

Rather than thinking about what a nasty bunch of people junkies are (as they are still people, with a very desperate need) maybe some should look at it like a starving person (I also think that it is very comparable-as when you are addicted I think most would agree that the need for your dope usually outranks the need for food).

When you think about a person that is very hungry and does not have the ability to get food and see them digging into a trash can (or whatever) and eating rotten and disgusting items, generally the average person may feel disgust at the act but who can blame a starving person? Generally, we dont say "oh, what a nasty effer that is!"..even if we think the act is disgusting who blames the person for eating whatever they can? You might feel sorry for that person and be disgusted by the action he is taking but can you blame them? So what is the difference? It pisses me off when other drug users feel like anyone who uses heroin and then ultimately becomes desperate when they are sick (and if you have never been sick withdrawing from a heroin habit..then dont even act like you know what sick is) is a piece of a shit. Just keep trucking down that road buddy, and one day you might have to walk in my shoes..see what you will do when you feel the desperate need. Sorry for rambling..one of those nights..thoughts are in there...having trouble getting them out due to exhaustion and frustration...hopefully you get the point..if anyone can word it better please feel free.

For sunshine sometimes, welcome to BL. I am so paranoid about contaminants (its from being a nurse for so very long) that everytime I IV something I use normal sterile saline. You can buy a can of it at walmart or a drug store and it is usually called Wound Wash or some such name. It says on the label "not for injection" but it is the same stuff we use in the hospital for IV solutions/flushes. It is normal saline (.9 percent or 9mg per ml) and it is sterile and it is also isotonic so it is about the safest thing you can possibly use. That eliminates any issues with the water. The one I buy contains 177ml...so that's quite a few safe shots for about $3-$4. It stays sterile also after you open it (unlike a bottle of water). It has a little pump on top that sprays it out.

I'll go on record...never heard of anyone...never heard of anyone that's actually heard of anyone who's had anything bad happen to them using tap water to shoot up with in the US....It's the least of my worries...If other people wanna have an HR gash-size debate over it, that's fine by me...I worry about things like not OD'ing, sharing needles or going to prison!

Tap water for me, too. Something better's available, ATM? Wondrous. But, I'm just fine with tap water and have also never heard about a fellow junkie having issues drawing out the tap.
 
In the TV show that I saw this done in, the guy flushed the toilet first. Presumably if one draws up the toilet water right after the toilet bowl fills back up, there won't be enough time for the stuff on the surface area inside the toilet to infuse into the water.
 
^That's effectively applying the 5 second rule to a toilet bowl instead of the floor.
As with the floor 5 second rule, I'm sure it would be found that while exposure time is more limited, the amount of bacteria that the object/water is still exposed to would be pretty significant.

I absolutely am not implying (if I did thats not what I meant) that tap water is not safe. Using the sterile saline over tap water is just a personal preference for me. The only reason I even mentioned here is that I have also heard a lot of people debate the whole bottled water thing and "sunshine sometimes" asked about what other options there were and if bottled water was safe. Personally, I know that what I am using is sterile so i never have to give it a second thought. I know for sure that normal sterile saline is probably the safest thing out there to use (besides being convenient for me) but that is not to say that other options are also safe. It is just my personal preference and I certainly wouldn't argue with anyone about the HR aspect of using tap water here in the US but will throw it out there as another option, especially for anyone who has concerns (such as the poster sunshine sometimes expressed).

Have I used tap water before? Of course. Is it my first choice? No. Like I said I guess it comes from being a nurse for 20 years...I also try not to think about the fact that my heroin is not sterile as I am injecting it. So for 95Land, I guess now you have met a fellow user who has issue with tap water..but of course if that is only option then no, wont stop me from shooting.

Water is special though: surface tension.
 
It seems funny to me at least that people can be so discriminating with their ampoules of bacteriostatic water vs bottled water, yet score dope that has been stepped on 50 different times with God knows what poison/caffeine/coffee creamer/etc etc and mainlining that shit without nary a second thought (!!!) I'm sure there's probably worse fillers for your veins in the junk than the difference between saline vs bottled water.
 
That´s one of the occasions when you realize you need to stop what you are doing and do something else.
 
Not proud of this but i've fixd many a shot up on the lid off the toliet. Sometimes that's all you got to work with, and your shaking to bad or the sink is at an incline. One of my buddys back home robbd the dilly dealer and got high in the woods,(by using creek water)! That water aint even clear, and just to IV thT shit like you know what your doing..lmao

Used water from an old ass water bottle to do a shot,instant headache.
 
I know, we all get desperate when hooked to heroin. We become slaves. Some people would do anything to guarantee their next dose. And 'how' does not really matter anymore.
The further you get from your history the heavier it gets. Sometimes I refuse to believe what I had done to keep up.

This is an excellent point.

However I would always choose distilled H2O vs fluorinated water, fuck dat shiz.
