Society doesn t exist it more like a concept imo.

Annoiting comes to mind, or human nature. It is annoying.
Making connection s with other s, even when it feel s right.
My gut feeling instantly says No. a sort of auto-mated response.
Can t go back. After doing it. Spontaneous on intuition.
Happened 3 times in 7 year s. Also on this site.

Bluelight is a great place to practice socializing skills, low-panic.



But practice with talk s with anonymous people about daily.
Random chit-chat s. Are like watering the plants.

"The Implicit Social Contract is an unwritten,, mutual agreement in which individuals, businesses, or groups agree to conform to certain social norms, behaviors, or responsibilities—such as abiding by laws, paying taxes, or acting responsibly—in exchange for social order, protection, benefits, or legitimacy from the governing body or community."

I assume you are on about "The West" here as in The UK, USA, Europe etc?........
Take India for example, their Society doesn't punish any Naga Baba (Naked holy man who is homeless & gets stoned every day) for example.

Isn’t the Naga Baba in this case adhering to a different social contract?

Conforming is not an option. (In my mind -- well certainly not MY best option). In contexts that make sense - I will wear black to a funeral im not gunna go against the grain "Just to do it", im not that guy either.
(If everyone felt that way it WOULD BE A PROBLEM -- I thought the 1% biker thing stood for the 1 percent of bikers in MC clubs that did not conform to the law. (Which isn't totally inaccurate but there is a whole mythos behind it I missed)

My behavior is dictated by principles and when conformity does not contradict with principles -- I gotta go by situational context.

Blah blah milgrim studies most ppl would shock someone to death if they believed 'legitimate authority' was pressuring them to do so.

The power of conformity is strong in the US right now. Conformity was a big problem in germany. Or a very useful tool for power -- depends how ya wanna see it I guess.

We were able to cut there soldiers down cuz they would step in the way of bullets opposed to stepping on the grass (In some/many cases) -- that level of conformity is madness.

1%ers are a great example that to be a nonconformist in today's society means you have to be an actual outlaw, but i think the reason is more insidious than social pressure

it's money pressure

not being able to pay for the ever-increasing cost of basic survival is punished brutally by western society

so people get more extreme in checking out, like how big vanlife community has gotten. they ain't paying no damn property taxes!
 
  • pause one breath before speaking. it prevents impulse blurting.
  • say what you mean, not what sounds impressive. clarity beats flair.
  • short sentences > long rambling ones. people process clean lines.
  • listen to the last word they say before replying. it stops cutting in.
  • match volume and pace to the room. regulation is contagious.
  • correct yourself quickly if you misspeak. “sorry — what I meant was…” resets everything.
  • compliment specifics, not vagueness. “that colour suits you” > “nice.”
  • don’t argue tone; adjust yours first. tone is half the message.
  • ask one clear question instead of three messy ones. focus invites focus.
  • leave space after important points. silence lets meaning land.
  • exit conversations cleanly. “good to see you — I’ll catch you later.”
  • protect your baseline. if an interaction destabilises you, shorten it or step away.

tell me if i'm way off base with this, htis simple communication stuff changed me to my core
