The EADD Mental Health Support Thread

There's also a nootropics thread in Psychedelic Drugs (not sure why haha) here :)

i have started to take interest in piracetam aswell. So no negative reaction with sertraline then?

I wondered how you got a tramadol addiction aswell Yella.Basically you are drug seeking blagging junkie.I jest <3.

Shambles is though, talking of Shambles, has he run out of electric?

Ah fuck it we are all drug seeking blaggers. A tooth abcess lead me to tram,i only took 100mgs and have loved it ever since. Mr jammy bastard also blags bupe.Mr jammy bastard is my friend.

I've said it again and again the antidepressant effect of tram is the best i have ever had.

It will never be scripted for depression though.Shame.
I am sure someone on here said the wd's can be worse than heroin wd's though.

I wish my friend would pop the trams out in sequence,he throws me three or four strips and half of them are missing, but not in sequence.

lol that reminds me of a couple of smokers that have to have their rizla roaches torn off in a system of perfect rectangles of sorts.. I've helped myself and torn a random bit of roach off and they go ballistic.. Its like an ocd thing, ive seen a few people with it.

Are you ocd?

Yup I am a drug seeking, blagging, addict scrooloose.

No. None atall. I am now finding that the effects i felt on day 1 are not being felt as strongly on subsequent days. But still getting the feeling of having more energy in general.

This seems right up my street. Gotta look into this. Thanks mdb.

Yella i know you are drug seeking blagging junkie,i was just trying to be polite because you are a woman that doesn't annoy me.

ocd? nah,just a bit odd.

Oh ok I feel flattered by the insult then scroobedoo :)

I'd prefer something like 'eccentric' to odd.

I'm often described diplomatically as a ' creative type' :D

Are ya walking the line with the pills now scrooloose or not? It seemed like they helped significantly for a few weeks.

Damn, just been reading up about the anti psychotic that I'm taking most evenings and it turns out that like etizolam it is classed as a thienobenzodiazepine, my doctor prescribed it to me telling me that it would help with anxiety after stopping benzos and would not cause any dependence or habit or tolerance. I'm beginning to think that she may have been talking out of her arse as if I knew that it was a thienobenzo then I probably still would have taken it.

I only found out about it when trying to find the american brand name for it when speaking to an american on AIM. It doesn't feel like a benzo, like etizolam does, it doesn't really feel like much, and it must be different to etizolam by a lot as it is marketed as an antipsychotic and effects dopamine too. Stupid fucking doctors. Everyone should treat themselves(ignore this last sentence)

Sorry, forgot to say the drug I'm prescribed is Olanzapine

Sounds a bit scary Mugz. Worth bearing in mind that the chemical classes refer to structural patterns, not necessarily activity patterns, although there is a relationship (SAR!) so just because it's in the same chemical class doesn't mean that it comes with the same effects (necessarily).

Having read the wiki page for the drug I think you're talking about (the one thienobenzodiazapine that is described as an anti-psychotic), it sounds like it may well cause dependence, though. If that's a concern, might be worth seeking a second opinion.

I don't know what I'm talking about, I really just want to put your mind at rest a bit! Hopefully someone who does know what they're talking about will come along.

Someone ought to know better :X. Flipped. Signed off for a fortnight. Why oh why?. Things were improving. Back to square one. Scripted 28 10mgs oxazepam.Always a fucking fly in the ointment. One person needs to shut the fuck up.

There's no GABA activity at all with that, so you're not gonna get any standard benzo withdrawals. You might have to taper off to avoid some form of discontinuation syndrome though, but that's just a guess.

after 15 years of heavy drug use and ending on a 2 week long bing wiith DOC LSD weed and butane gas my head just kind of snappped and i now can hear my thoughts out loud in my head!??!? it comes and goes now but after that biinge ii had it for 8 weeks non stop. went to the psycatrist he has still not been able to diagnose it and said its a drug induced psycosis but the voices have nott went away. he precribed me risperadone which did indeed help the voices and basiclay took them away but they made me feel like shit and i stopped taking them id rather feel fine and hear myself think out loud now and then than feel like crap all the tiime. anyways off everything now exxcept ma meth script and the odd bag every few months. gutted about it but what can i do? i also blaiim years of psycadelic abuse of every kind and before that years of xtc mdpv amphet weed abuse to the max

It may sound ridiculous, but try not to give yourself any extra stress and trust your psychiatrist. It sounds like you're giving yourself a rough time over this, and that's not going to help you in the slightest.

Have you told the psychiatrist you've stopped taking the meds because they make you feel bad? I'd suggest that.

Whatever you decide, I hope things ease up for you soon somehow.

Just been scripted 2.5 mg olanzapine tablets to go with my sertraline. Had meeting with my boss and he said he can no longer keep me on like this,so i had to resign.

The doctor has arranged to see a shrink and signed me off for another 2 weeks. I'm not sure what happens after the two weeks as in signing on,or wether i may be able to claim sickness benefit.

On a brighter note,he did sort me out 4 weeks wages to tide me over, which i wasn't expecting.

Sorry to hear your having such problems SL, you may be able to get Disability Living Allowance but you would have to meet the criteria, I'm not familiar with it at all and I believe it is going to change soon, best to talk to those that know about such things, do you have a key worker ? if not you should get in touch with the social and get things moving that 4 weeks cash won't last forever :\

You have to have had the condition/illness that you are claiming D.L.A for a year before you can even make a claim . So you would have to be on The Sick for a year before D.L.A is even a possible to claim. The only exceptions are terminal illness where a Doctor has given you a certain amount of time to live.

All this wil;l change soon as you mentioned & it's scaring the shit out of me & many other people that are in legitimate receipt of D.LA.. The stress of it all is making many of us with Mental Health issues even worse.

Are you sure about this? I've heard it before but I don't think it's actually true - I can't find anywhere in the guidelines that this says this explicitly.

Scrooloose, if you've been told you can't work because of the medication you're on due to an ongoing mental health condition, you ought to be able to claim ESA. It's tough, though, at the moment. Do you have a psychiatrist? If so, getting a supporting letter from them would be likely to really help your chances of a successful claim.

DLA is much harder to claim if you have MH issues but you might be entitled to it. Disability Rights UK have a really useful fact sheet on eligibility: http://www.disabilityrightsuk.org/f2.htm.
