I know! That's what the devil keeps telling me. The angel says that they obviously belong to someone, so I should leave them alone or hand them to "security".

Ha! Good call

I hate to moan about the glorious weather, but, I can feel my skin sweating beneath my cast. It is fairly rank.

Ongoing tale of pain med woes update. Update being that woes maybe finally be woebegone cos pain meds finally be sorted. Woop-woop! =D

Had my appointment with the DSP doc yesterday and he scripted me on the spot - didn't even need to give a second pisstest. Chuffed cos wasn't expecting it till next week at the earliest. So no more codeine for me cos got first instalment of shiny new bupe script this very morn. 4mg on day one, 8mg day two, 10mg days three and four then 12mg daily starting Monday and for evermore. He wanted to take me up to 16mg but I vaguely recall feeling a bit edgy on 16mg last time - almost as if the blocker side was starting to fight the Goodies side a bit. Will see how it goes. To be honest, I was only expecting 2-4mg or summat. Suspected I'd need more but would have to work up slowly over time. Seems like the doc decided I may as well enjoy the first week of me new script though cos the rapid upward swing of those doses should go down a treat =D

They do come in the worst blister pack ever though. Neither me nor the pharmacist could get 'em out their lil cages without crumbling 'em to dust. Needed to resort to scissors to break into the packaging in the end it's so bleedin' tough. As such, I'm fairly sure I wasted quite a bit cos was but drugdust by the time it got to mouth and mostly dissolved atop tongue as opposed to nestled neatly beneath where it actually works :!

Was actually sorely tempted to ask if he could just avert his gaze so I could snort it off the counter seeing as it was already but a small pile of powder on the counter at that point. Decided it may not look so good on first day of script though - or frankly at any time :D

Having said that, I am definitely far more perky than I was this morn. Prone to rather lengthy posts and rather frequent rubbing at very itchy nose. As far as pain relief goes, there is definite dulling of pain but still quite aware of it. I kinda suspect 8mg might be my sweet spot (cos vaguely recall it being somewhere around there last time) but not gonna bitch 'bout 12mg either :D

So Shambles, you get 12mg subutex just as a normal prescription? That is very good to here you are being sorted, for me 6-8mg was the dose.

My update is I'm decreasing the pregabalin as its messing with me memory and making me put weight on. My back is now stating to hurt again loads :-( going to ring my GP get a codeine script sent to my GF house. Would as for morphine but GP said that would have to wait till after my pain clinic app mid august. As its my second pain clinic app and have not had any luck with suggested meds she wants to wait a couple of weeks.....

So get my codeine script sorted cus my back kills.... Shit

About 5 minutes ago my left wrist joints started to really hurt - I've not pulled a muscle or banged it on something or it being a repetitive-strain pain injury (I've not done it by wanking, and I say as such because that would be the first thing said in return 8) )
It purely just started throbbing and has now moved up to the forearm a few seconds ago :|

This shit is Wree-Dick-You-Louse - I'm likely in only a couple or pain felt that people who's age has determined their pain.
Every joint has hurt over the past few weeks (oh cheers body, there goes my right forearm and shoulder).
I might take the risk of consuming more than my scripted dose of Codeine (I've already had some effervescent Aspirin) but that'd be silly and may not even help.

My left leg's calf muscle, that I was complaining about it being right painful, has just stopped hurting this morning and this pisses me off. It's like my body's pain receptors are having a fucking circus:
"Here's the Woman in a small box, next up we have a car that falls apart while 50 clowns get out of it! And later we have the knife-thrower and his glamorous assistant while everything is grand until the last throw of the knife punctures the veins and arteries in her neck!"
**Whinge whinge Whine whine**

Fuck's sake,

Well, the second op is over and done with. Was last Thursday, took 5 hours and thankfully my surgeon was able to do it all keyhole. I've had the rest of my colon and my rectum removed, about 18" of small intestine folded and sewn into a "j-pouch", and a new ileostomy from further up my small intestine.

Felt absolutely great after the surgery, god knows what I was on but I've been gibbering away like an idiot in recovery and then later on back on the ward. Same ward I spent 7 weeks last year when I has my first op, great to catch up with all the nurses again :)

Things took a bit of a turn for the worse on Friday and I had a couple of days of excruciating pain and plenty of vomiting, but thankfully this time it only seems to have lasted a couple of days and yesterday and today I've been eating small but regular meals, with a bit of bloating and discomfort. Just need good scores on my bloods and less than a litre of bowel output over the next 24 hours (surgery makes it go green bile insane) and I can go home! Still been a fairly shit week though!

Still got a 3rd op in 3-6 months time when they close up the loop ileo and the j-pouch becomes a functioning bowel of sorts. There will likely be less pain but maybe more of an ordeal getting it to work, pooping from my bum using muscles that haven't seen action for over 12 months. But I'll be ostomy bag free, and never suffer a bout of colitis again, so it will hopefully all be worth it.

Thanks for the messages of support guys <3

I was about to post some shit (if you'll excuse the pun) here but thanks RJ, you've just put things into perspective for me. All the very best to you sir.

Not at all, sounds like you've been through some shit too recently.

No pain is good pain so I don't think there needs to be any pperspective on the matter at all. We're all here to support each other so post away :)

Start clenching and doing yer kegels in advance, it might help a little.

You seem in an insanely positive mindframe considering all you've been through. Hope your recovery continues to go well <3

Nah RJ I'm serious, I'm not league-tabling the pain, I remember saying something similar to Atm23 that you're saying to me, but in this case I really do think you've helped put some perspective on things for me. Fundamentally, I need to get a grip and you've just helped me towards that. It's weird, someone told me last week I needed to get a grip and frankly I could have punched them at the time. Turns out they might be right. Funny old world.

That's actually very sound advice which I'm half expecting to hear from my consultant at some point.

Sometimes the weirdest things make you more positive though, I think my outlook on life has actually improved over the last 3 years even though I've had loads of health problems. You gotta have rain to see the rainbow and all that.

PS sorry for double post, faff to fix on my phone!
