The EADD a trifle annoyed thread.

I'm a trifle annoyed that my neighbour who suffers from anxiety issues amongst other things ignored my advice & went ahead and took out a Wonga loan.
He is on benefits,so doesn't have much cash coming in each month.
He came around earlier worried that his benefits payment goes into his account tmrw & Wonga are due to take £138 from him.
So his plan is to keep going to the ATM every 30mins after midnight to try & withdraw his cash before Wonga does.
I just wish he would have listened to the advice we gave him before he took out his loan.

Here's Jonty Hurwitz, one of the Wonga founders.

Looks like he knows how to spend all that money he quite rightly deserves to take from your empty bank account each month :)

Eroll is still not sure what he's going to pick up at ikea, though:

some people find it hard to take good advice, ive known even intelligent people succumb to Wonga, when its clear to see that the company are total rip off merchants preying on the financial desperation of people. I hope the cash machines in his area are safe to use after midnight. The ones round here are no go areas after dark, there's so many shady characters lurking, ready to pounce on you to mug you for your withdrawal.

I didnt know anything about this half hour thing. My bank has a £200 limit per day on withdrawals i think, there is no 30 minute limit. That seems very strange. :?:sus:

Sorry if I didn't explain it very well Mdb.
What I meant is that he is going to keep going to the ATM every 30mins to see if his money has been paid into his account.
That way he is hoping to withdraw his money before Wonga does.
No safety issues with going to the ATM in the early hours as it's only 2 mins away and is at a 24 hour Tesco.

he'll have to pay it back, and if he doesnt do that asap he'll make things much worse for himself. Their interest rates are like 3000% APR or something. A £130 debt could soon trun into thousands. :\

Diphenhydramine is a cunt, I can barely take one without getting restless legs.

It certainly seems to have a knock on effect that continues well into the next day. The stuff does its job of knocking you out more effectively than anything else i know of at the moment. I dunno if its possible to get addicted to it, i quite like the feeling once it kicks in and before it knocks you out, it's a perfect substance for a wreckhead like me, so i try not to take it too regularly. Once I'm off kratom, i suspect it will be a hell of a lot easier to sleep, as that is proving even worse than coffee in terms of keeping me awake all night if i wasnt taking loads of downers to counteract it.

i mean physically addicted.

from wiki:

Tolerance against the sedating effect of diphenhydramine builds very quickly; after three days of use at the common dosage, it is no more effective than a placebo.[12] Diphenhydramine can cause minor psychological dependence when used improperly.[13]

Yeah, that's the other thing. I used to use it a lot for hangovers/SSRI withdrawal because it'd kill off the sweats and anxiety but barely touch it any more cos I have no real reason to, or other options. I'm not sure if it's physically addictive. It has some SNRI action I think, so possibly in the sense you might get withdrawals from it after protracted use? Anyone? That's me guessing there.

Diphenhydramine has also been shown to inhibit the reuptake of serotonin.[35]

Diphenhydramine has been shown to be a potentiator of analgesia induced by morphine in rats.[36] Opioid users, report that Diphenhydramine potentiates any opioid drug, and not just Morphine. The mechanism behind this action is poorly understood. However, many hypotheses exist. Diphenhydramine could potentially have interaction with either the Kappa (κ), Delta (δ) or Mu (μ) opiate receptors. This is highly unlikely, but a possibility none-the-less. More likely hypotheses are based around diphenhydramine's antimuscarinic action, and its possible indirect antiglutaminergic and antiadrenergic effects.

Oral bioavailability of diphenhydramine is in the range of 40–60% and peak plasma concentration occurs approximately 2–3 hours after administration.

Fucks sake, 2-3 hours to peak. I didnt know that. I'll have to start taking it earlier in the night. My sleeping pattern is slipping again, not getting to sleep until 2-4 am and not waking up until 2pm ish. Last week i got up at 8.30 am and was all bright and breezy. I dont get why this has fucked up so soon. (Oh yeah, i remember now, friday nights all night stim session, and then 2 night of using peeve. That will explain it. :\)

Oof, that's a nasty pattern to get into, sleeping-wise. Stims are a cunt for that. At 26 I've only just about developed the ability to resist spending the entire next day in bed if I do stims or can't sleep. It's hard. Good luck sorting it out <3

I'm annoyed because I got up early despite a blinding hangover to wait for my parcel, got a text saying it'd be there between 10.31 and 11.31 around 10am. Left the house at 2 sans parcel. Fucked off. It contained a book I need for tomorrow and one I'll need for next week. No text or 'sorry we missed you' card or anything so they blatantly haven't even been and I'm busy the rest of the week.
