The EADD a trifle annoyed thread.

I am eating the last of the teeny tiny alcoholic christmas chocolate bottles ..I am a trifle annoyed that the booze seems to have absorbed into the chocolate in every other one. The famous grouse being the best so far with it being both liquidy and the chocolate not having not gone soggy...sigghhh.

Annoyed about handing all the details to my savings account to my mother cos I need to pay for my hair cut this afternoon and I have to get all my money through her or it'd have gone on drugs and I'd probably still be comatose. And bills are probably important.

I'm more than a trifle annoyed today, more like the whole damn sweet trolley.
Was expecting my fortnightly ESA payment to go into my account today but it wasn't paid in.
I rang them up & they say they haven't yet received my sicknote. I posted it a week ago first class so no reason why they shouldn't have it yet.

cheers, its so dissapointing as on paper i was almost entirely an exact match for their requirements, and i dont think i did badly in the interview either.

I am eagerly awaiting the feedback on what i could have done better. It's interview number 4 now, i could accept the other 2, as could easily see that others might easily have had more technical knowledege and skills, but this one, i had it all. Is really quite disheartening. I havent heard back about interview 3, but am not feeling overly optimistic about that one. I had no idea it would prove this difficult to get a job. Will have to get myself remotivated and start hunting all over again. And it will be without kratom or any other opis next time. Maybe it is for the best that i now have no time pressures to get off these things and recover. Getting off them, i know i can do, allowing time for a full psychological recovery isnt something ive done yet. But I have the opportuntity to do it now. Having a job may or maynot have helped in this.

Commiserations Mdb,you really wanted that job as well.
I hate it when you feel the interview has gone well and then you don't get the job as it leaves you wondering why.
Hopefully the agency give you some useful feedback as to why you were unlucky on this occasion.
Don't give up, keep trying and eventually you will get a job that you want.

cheers Max. Hopefully the feedback will be helpfull and I'll be able to put it into practice. I may have been doing something i was completely unaware of. The good news is that my CV is much improved, so on my next batch of applications i should be getting a much better response rate. Out of the ~50 jobs i applied for, i think i had about 5 call backs, and 2 interviews. Just got to keep plugging away. I can be very stubborn and persistent, i need to apply that to my job hunting.

Are you job hunting Max, or 'on the sick' ? If you are looking for work how long have you been trying ? (if you dont mind me asking)

I'm signed off sick at the moment since December.
Before that I was claiming JSA since September 2012.So was trying to get a job for about 15 months before getting signed off sick.
Used to be easy where I live to go from one factory job to another but since being made redundant I have discovered that it is not as easy as it used to be to get a job here.
Once I am well enough again I will be back trying to get a job as I hate being broke all the time and having to rely on and deal with the DWP & JCP

yeah its tough. I dont believe that i come across badly in interviews, i heard through the grapevine that one of my team leaders was very impressed with an interview i attended for a promotion, in fact he was shocked and surprised at how well i did, he didnt know that i had all that in me. I spent a lot of time preparing and rehearsing questions and answers for that interview. I am not doing that so far this time round, maybe i have it in my head that 'i know what to say so dont need to prepare' and this isnt helping, and i should be doing more preparation so i can speak more fluently and articulately. Wish they'd hurry up with that feedback so i can stop speculating, maybe they just needed a disabled Sikh lesbian single mother to fill their equality quotas or something. It could be something as ridiculous as that.

Yes, hopefully the feedback will be good and constructive so you know what went well and what maybe didn't go so well.
Preparation can only be a good thing before each interview as it stops you being caught off guard with an awkward question etc.
Look on the positive side Mdb,the more interviews that you have the better you will get at them.
From what you say you do come across well in your interviews but there is so much competition out there for jobs now so employers can afford to be as picky as they like.
I read about an electricians job that had 600 applications for it, that's how fierce the competition is.
You will get there I'm sure, try not to get disheartened.

aye, you're right. It's got to be down to persistence, preparation and interview technique. Sooner or later i will get something. The economy and the number of jobs available is meant to be gradually improving, so there is that to try to be positive about. It's during the autumn and winter that i really most want to work, tbh im happy not working and having free time in the nicer weather of the spring and summer. I fear if i dont get something soon, then Spring will be here, and my motivation to get a job might decline. I was glad to be unemployed last summer, as i was able to take advantage of being able to be out and about in the nice weather for prolonged periods, for the first time in about 20 years.

Opioid users, report that Diphenhydramine potentiates any opioid drug, and not just Morphine. The mechanism behind this action is poorly understood. However, many hypotheses exist. Diphenhydramine could potentially have interaction with either the Kappa (κ), Delta (δ) or Mu (μ) opiate receptors. This is highly unlikely, but a possibility none-the-less. More likely hypotheses are based around diphenhydramine's antimuscarinic action, and its possible indirect antiglutaminergic and antiadrenergic effects.:\)

I'm trying a diphen with my kratom this evening to see if it potentiates that in any way, as according to the above it should do. For the first time i was getting a bit of a nod off my kratom earlier. With the 2-3 hour onset of the diphen though the timing may not work, the kratom will probably be wearing off by the time the diphen kicks in. 8)

MDB, there's a lot of competition for jobs at the moment.. you're doing well to get interviews. I've always found that no matter how ideally suited you are to a job description, there's always someone slightly better suited. Get the feedback and hopefully it'll be constructive, and then use that to improve your next interview.

Cheers Swampy. I expect the agency will have some constructive feedback for me, and hopefully it will be something i can do something about and put it into action. I think i need some feedback now at this stage, 4 interviews - 0 jobs. Even the job center course said it is normal to have to attend 5 or 6 interviews before landing a job, i guess its even worse at the moment, so its not quite destroying my confidence yet, but some feedback would be a great help, as to whether im doing OK, just others had X Y or Z that i didnt, or if im getting something badly wrong.

MDB, I hope you do get feedback, but I applied for a job with the Citizen's Advice, and I could have done it with my eyes closed, but I never got an interview. I emailed CAB asking for feedback, and I didn't get any sort of reply whatsoever. I would have thought CAB would be a bit more helpful than that, being what they are... so I wouldn't count on getting useful feedback.

Sometimes you don't get a job because there is someone lined up for it and they're just going through the motions.

If it helps, my interview to job ratio is probably about 1 in 5, and I'm awesome.. ;)

Yeah, I think this happens a lot. :/

aye, from what i gather the 'protocol' is you can ask for feedback if interviewed, but if you dont get shortlisted they arent obliged to say why. I usally apply for jobs online, and just get the email saying 'thanks for applying, if you dont hear anything within 7 days unfortunately you have not made the shortlist'

Yeah the being able to do the job well thing makes it even more frustrating when you dont get it. Next time, im gonna prepare much more, and go for a very hard sell, whilst trying to steer clear of anything that could be construed as bullshit.
