Amphetamine and Music Appreciation/Creativity

MY most favoured effect from amps - music enhancement and appreciation goes through the roof! Im a big fan of listening to my music, mainly EDM with the occasional dubstep but also rock, I find amps make rock absolutely insane and can play guitar for ages and literally orgasm the whole time playing it, then again I love to play guitar and amps just enhance the love 1000x fold

Amp+Guitar = Some insane fuckign jamming sessions thats for sure! Deffintly in agreeance without amps and coke we wouldn't have some of the great rock/metal songs we have

Share your experiences!!

Maybe I should rephrase it to any dopaminergic + music = insane music creativty haha, so good!

I remember the first time I ever pulled my guitar out and I was on meth... memories oh god that was the time I mentioned in my first post, bloody fingers and bloody fretboard :P

Listening to Elliott Smith on the O once again.

Good times.

After about 6 months of semi-forced sobriety, tonight the darker side of me is back and I'm laid back listening to Either/Or having myself a grand old time.

What kind of music do you guys listen to on your shit?

i went through a phase of listening to that album as well when i was using xanax, valium and oxycodone pretty heavy a few years back. i wasn't really depressed as i was living with a good mate at the time and we were always up to something decent. overall life was decent and i wasn't depressed. it's just the kind of music i like and associate listening to while doped up so fittingly, to me, it would be high on the spin rotation as is a lot of early 90's grunge shite like alice in chains, pearl ja, faith no more, soundgarden, temple of the dog, mudhoney, etc, etc. the list goes on.

no, and for quite a few years now, i'm turning to bands such as explosions in the sky, god speed you black emporer, pelican, russian circles, god is an astronaut and just a lot of different post-rock music in general. i'm addicted to marilyn manson too as i wanna jump his bones, that sexy man.

but generally speaking as long as it's something that's kinda catchy, just easy on the ears and a joyful listen which appeals tp almost anyone and i'll enjoy it. i guess you could say i'm meaning the more mainstream/pop shit, but i don't go out of my way to acquire it and you'll only find me listening to it if someone else is in control of the music or it happens to come on the radio or what have you, ya dig?

there's already a thread almost identical to this so i won't be surprised if this is merged in with it, dude.

>> Oh well. I'm new.

But yeah, I feel you. I'm just attached to his early works as they helped me through a lot of rough patches and periods. Personally, I love a lot of folk music, progressive rock, post-hardcore, emo, acoustic, funk, and so on. Got a lot of variety in my iTunes. Ever heard of Cursive? Great oxy music.

Yeah, love that album. Good to see so many Elliott fans. The man is so underrated it's sad. One of the best songwriters of the 90s and of all time.

^His music is kind of just a little bit out of reach of the mainstream, but he was uncompromising as an artist, as do it yourself as you can be without shooting yourself in the foot....

And what he's most known for is FAR from his best material....All his albums are full of absolute gems and everybody seems to like different songs!

The only album of his I'm not too fond of is XO, but even it has a few diamonds on it. I personally love his first album and New Moon.

My ex-girlfriend was a huge fan of his, she pretty much got me into him 5 years ago....the songs she likes are kinda the weird obscure ones.....Yeah, New Moon is great, and a lot of those songs are outtakes from previous albums, which is hard to believe because there's just so many great ones!

It just goes to show how good Elliott was, the fact that his album of B-Sides is almost as good as his canon albums is crazy.
