The Drugs and Music Mega Thread

The first 4 or 5 Megadeth albums are classic. I don't care for many past the Rust in Piece days. That album was a thrash metal masterpiece.

I was chillin at my buddies house and his druggie roommate got a sick record player and had started a collection. He had some awesome old-school punk stuff, the kinda things you randomly find that are a jewel. I wish I could afford to start a collection.

Also, some awesome BASS from DeepMediMusik http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qs9eaMQf9kM Mala - Miracles

I'm in love with Mala's music. His duo with Coki -- Digital Mystikz (DMZ) is amazing too. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Mystikz

Rust in Peace is the only Megadeth album I really listen to anymore. I like Peace Sells and Killing is my Business, but I just can't enjoy them knowing how much better RIP is.

Whenever I do coke or speed at my house, RIP is the first album I put on. Such a fucking masterpiece.

Haha. Yeah? When I'd do speed binges I'd typically put on my classic megadeth playlist. All the early albums up to RIP. Figured the music fit the mood, given how much of a drug crazed person Dave was back in those days.

I looked up my old friend's band Tyrannosaurus Dracula and found this gem. Regularly updated all the time with all types of great free music under creative commons license, or whatever.

Ultra Tech - bell-E-Ve
Tatanka - Africa
Alpha Twins - The Darkside
Zany - Sky High
Blutonium Boy - Acid over Sydney

To name a few...

when i'm on drugs: classic rock such as led zep or floyd. that or electronica, such as DnB, garage, "chillstep" whatever. most of what comes out of the UKF label is great.

when i'm off of drugs: interestingly enough i love the grateful dead when i'm sober and anxious. their music is so hopeful that it's hard not to be uplifted when some of their better songs are playing.

Jeff Buckley. I listened to Grace again today (amazing album) and it brought me right back to years ago when I was on a huge using run where that was all I would listen too. Downside is that it gives me some serious cravings.

how about some rebelution and iration anyone?! Good vibess alwaysss..

Thats actually my go to withdrawal music ha.

Anyone have songs they associate with different drugs or times in their life?

Okay so I don't know where to post this (DC?) or even how to search to see if a thread like this exists so here I go. Does anyone have songs that they associate with certain drugs or phases in their lives? I have a theme song for alot of drugs, mainly psychedelics and the music tends to be EDM, with the exception of weed as I was smoking long before I got into the rave scene and "harder" drugs. I'll start with a few.

MDMA: benny bennassi- change style (http://m.youtube.com/watch?p=PLBD1CD0E2C2A8F72F&feature=plpp&v=9li1hBii5_g)

MDA: Commix- Talk to frank (http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8x0mKh87kvc)

2c-i: Dubsidia- Kill Humans (http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JHIHA5uqylg) & Rusko- everyday(Dj Q remix) (http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6TYVtIhDOww)

aMT: Decon- Holy Shhh! ( http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=xXANlzN9Fd0) & Crookers- The Cat (http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=W5rdFVTnda4)
Weed: 311- Amber (http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=fY3ATmNPtWI) & just about every sublime or slightly stoopid song

I've got more but I can go on forever, especially when it comes to music associated with certain "dark" periods in my life. feel free to add your own list.

EDIT: mods can you fix the title please, the first word should be *ANYone* not one.

I love music all the time its almost like its own drug. But while attending shows/festivals and just bumping music I enjoy to consume mushrooms lsd mdma oxycodone heroin and marijuana. Id also love to try some 2c b in this situation but have yet to try it. Think ill get some soon

Mine don't vary much by altered state, except I'm usually not too partial to metal while tripping.

ebola

On Meth: Decent Rap, oddly enough something screwed. That or RATM or Muse.
On Cannabis: Classic Rock and 90's Rock
On Mushrooms: No idea, I remember playing "Lust For Life" over and over and over again while tripping once.
On DMT: Silence, that or some form of chanting would be okay.
On Benzos: I like all Music better
On Opiates: Pink Floyd, Jazz
On Suboxone, Benzos and Marijuana (my current cocktail): I seem to be especially into Radiohead and Pinback

I basically listen to the same kind I listen to when I'm sober nowadays.

Moved this to DC and merged it into our existing thread.

There are bands/songs that I actually cannot listen to now without being high on a certain substances. The associate is too great. And on the flip, there are certain substances that seem to demand specific groups/songs.

For example I have a hard time listening to my late 90's ALT faze: APC, Tool, Alice in Chains, System, Incubus, Sublime, Smashing Pumpkins. They just bring me back to those days where I was a tweak-addict-pre-opiate/benzo-discovery. Miserable. Which totally sucks, because a lot of that is still great music.

And for some reason my ultimate favorites Miles Davis and Pink Floyd seem to be reserved for nodding out.
