The Doof Thread

Am I gona see any perthlings at mario party this saturday in perth? Few djs from victoria are on the set, ill try and find setlist
 
^^ Some mixed up genres in there. A dude in Sydney often throws parties including hardcore, hard trance, happy hardcore & hardstyle dj's aswell as your typical mix of doof genres.. Kinda weird vibes.

Dancing. How/What do I do? I'm fairly certain I have mild anxiety and it's hard for me to 'get loose'. Cheers

Position yourself front and centre, stand and nod your head in time with the music with your hands thrust deep into your pockets. Occasionally remove hands from pockets and stroke chin, but do this sparingly in case you are mistaken for someone who is enjoying themselves too much.

Or find that sweet spot of being just high enough that you don't care what anyone else thinks (for the record no one will care if you jitterbugged), but not too high that you strip naked and start masturbating.
 
Just do whatever you want/feels good. With any luck there will be some nice vibes from people who are already too deep in their own little dancing world to care what your doing. I'd much prefer being with people who can't dance for shit and are having a ball than people who are "too cool" to dance.

For example a dude at a recent Adelaide DnB show. 4 hours non-stop of simpily punching the air and stomping his feet was without a doubt my favorite person to watch.

shut up n dance doof went off!!! was quite dif to my first doof ( all pych trance and about 40-50 hippies) this doof had a easy 400-500 people n was made up of all sorts of people.i personally didn't have any problems but was told that people were breaking into cars n on the way out of the doof we counted like 3-4 ransacked cars one of em fliped over with all the glass smashed.what the fuck would posses somone to do that!?but yeah everything besides a group of dicks cutting down a live tree with a chainsaw while tripping and some dirt bike riders rocking up in the morning thinking there hardcore ripping around everywhere it was the best doof eva really really cool people (well the ones i met)great druugs n greaaat beats made it a awsome night!

drink and pop some MD i've been told i have social anxity (and other things) by a doctor but get some piss and a good ammount of MDMA into me and i'll bust a fat move! wouldnt give a shit if people laughed at me at least im giving it a go.just think who cares what these people think of you ur never gonna see most of em again just get out there and do what feels right and have a good time for YOURSELF dont care what anyone thinks of you.trust me people will think more of u for just giving it a go rather than being the bloke standing in the mosh not moving with his arms folded...
 
Yes! Shut up and dance was amazing. Met so many people and danced all night.
I think I'm addicted to doofs since I lost my doof virginity from long Easter weekend, been to every one since then and hang for them every day of the week :) All I can think about is the next one haha
 
Looks like it will be a little damp at Harmonize this weekend. Nothing a set of gum boots and a snorkel won't fix.

At least it means the nights won't be as cold.

fuuuucking spewwwing there was a doof on tthis friday in perth i got the text like a hour before it started n fuuuuuck no way we could get our doof equipment together n drive all the way up to north perth then party we'd be buggerd
 
I'm gonna be leaving the shit English weather behind to jet over to you guys soon, on August 1st in fact! I'm a big fan of freeparties here in the UK and have been raving for 5 years now and I'm keen to go to some doofs during my time trekking around Aus. I'm planning to be in Perth for a few months (hopefully) working and partying so will be sniffing around for info for sure. However, if anyone from the area wants to help a brother out that'd be sick! I know how it is with newcomers to the scene here in the UK (ie. trust no one with party details unless you know them well), I presume it's the same down under. If you go to doofs though maybe you could drop me a PM and we could chat. I'm not expecting to get any info straight up, far from it, but it would be good to chat to people involved and find out how the scene works and such. In addition it would be cool to just chat to some residents of Perth, maybe we could have a few beers at some point, I'm always up for meeting like-minded folk!
