The Dive Social v. CHEERS! 🍻

I created this forum because CEPS was an echo chamber. (Liberal)

I think things are more interesting/fair when all viewpoints can be shared and discussed.
And a great idea it was ❤️ Forgive me, I was being flippant and attempting to be amusing. But I've noticed that instead of having a liberal bias, it seems to me often tilted towards the antiwoke/right- from my limited perspective based on skim reading over the past few weeks. Which I concede is certainly only a tiny snapshot of the forum.

I put myself in the "antiwoke" or woke sceptical camp for the most part but, for a number of reasons not the least being how my views have changed over the last 4-5 years based on exposure to counter arguments, I am really interested in seeing all sides of a debate. At least, I aspire to that but probably disregard conflicting arguments reflexively most of the time. But I'm trying. 🤔

yeah, for sure. There was a time when CEPS was indeed a liberal echo chamber, but those days are long gone, and although there are still liberal voices, the conservative posts far outnumber the liberal ones these days. It makes for an interesting forum, although somehow we still sometimes have people accusing us of being an echo chamber, just because, like, an administrator disagreed with them and shared liberal views.

Actually, although it can get pretty intense and heated in here at times, I can't think of a place on the Internet that has a political discussion focus that is as civil as it usually is here, unless that place is literally an echo chamber and just outright bans anyone who is on the opposite end of the political spectrum. Many of us consider each other friends, or if not friends, at least people we respect and can joke around with and debate with (even if sometimes that debate breaks down). Political discourse has gotten so toxic that most places either ban it, or it makes me feel like we'd be better off if an asteroid hit the Earth after I spend 10 minutes reading comments.

We need this as a post reaction

Gang members in blue cities like Chicago should get even more illegal full auto Glocks until the blue city enacts actual gun control laws that gang members won't follow
That was my point. The hardcore righties believe ALL people should exercise their Gawd given rights to arm themselves to the teeth. Funny how when someone is a POC, they are a gang member who shouldn't be allowed to own "full auto Glocks" but the mostly white Proud Boys are patriots. One of these things is not like the other

We don't play the grade school "stfu" game in the dive

Take that children's ripoff artist act back to the lounge

All I'm saying, is where I'm from and where I grew up, telling somebody who's 30 years older than you to stfu, will put you in some serious hot water

So like I said, I don't think it's funny and I think you better take that act somewhere else
