PTCH - Now That's What I Call Disco

Here's a wee mix I did last week inspired by this thread. Forgive the terrible mixing, I had never attempted to mix disco before hitting record.

The first half is disco, the second half is house.

I stuck to the more recognisable tunes because I intend to play them at a house party next Saturday. I might record a proper disco mix with the belters that have been posted in here that I didn't already know. Shout out to dee_dee for absolutely killing it.

Ah your welcome, glad some people are enjoying. When i rack my brains i shall try and sift out some more stuff for sure, and im gonna give your little party mix a play tommorow while im at home doing my chores as youve gone to the trouble.

Ironically i dont sift through my disco favourites or listen to it with great regularity, just now and then, but it makes refreshing change.
 
This really was my first real Disco education. If anyone owns it now and has the ability to put it on CD christ even tape I would pay good money. I do have decks but me and vinyl just don't get on would be scratched and ruined in a month no matter how careful I am.

I live 6 miles away from a shop of any description I don't have that option open to me. Can't even get a takeaway where I live.So the only option for rock and roll action is drug piggery and playing loud music to drown the owls and that fucking mad neying horse out....Different worlds my friend..could really go a M&S duck roll thingy and a cloudy lemonade..that option unavailable so Pillage it must be. See perfect sense! =D

I wanted to post Prince - Controversy, but the swines have clearly been busy pulling it from pootube. Theres only a couple of awful homemade mixes by amateurs on there which sound abismal and not a patch on the original version, but if your not familar with it track it down and give it a listen, its my favourite Prince track without a doubt.

I had to walk past two takeaways just to get to the M&S garage. I nearly doubled back for a chicken kebab but have contented myself with a sandwich, a couple packets of crisps and a bottle of berry volvic. I also had to negotiate my way past two separate teams of bams while having no fags on me. I consider my munchie mission a resounding success.

Yes its annoying it's very hard to get some of his best tracks on youtube and Controversy is one of them. There is also a 13 minute long version of Purple rain from 1983 live that is always being taken down because of his lawyers. If anyone out there has a file of it let me know
 
I love that track..did I post earlier in this thread 'I wanna be your lover'? As soon as I can focus properly will have a gander.

They don't have 'when you were mine' either Dee Dee..my all time favourite Prince track..more funk than disco but around the same time..
