Neverending Story: i read the book last week. It's really fucking good! Everyone should read it! It made me want to take drugs and live in a fantasy world! I borrowed the vid off my friend last night... gonna watch it tonight

Meet the Feebles: what a fucking pisser. to those who've seen it, "What are we going to do with all this Borax?". I think that is just about the most *wrong* movie i've ever seen. I'm just remembering the big song and dance sequence about the joys of Sodomy, complete with giant ejaculating penis sculptures at the climax of the song! bwahahahaha!!!! (pun intended thankyou).

The obvious recent ones:
TRAFFIC - reasonable portrayal, but boring in places (IMHO)
MOMENTO - if you haven't seen it its worth it. Best script construction i've seen. If you've been scattered before you know how he feels

For all the ganja cultivationalists out there - I **STRONGLY** recommend "Saving Grace".
It's basically about an lady that goes from growing wicked flowers to growing REDICULOUSLY DELICIOUS buds in order to pay off debts and save her house. In the process, she gets the whole town rrrripped - but that's not all!
Actually, I think everyone should go out and hire it! I watched this movie with my Mum, and I just love the way it glorifies marijuana!!!

mmm... I've just spent the last 5 mins filtering through the posts to see what wonderous flicks people have listed, and was a little surprised not to see this one (well I don't think I saw this one).
"Aculpulco Gold"
As far as I know its a 70's 'mockumentary' about, you guessed it, the legendary weed. I haven't seen it yet, but I'm trying to track down a copy. Sounds interesting.

tripped out on Heart Of Darkness and then Apocalypse Now. More good intense movies are:
Darkstars
Eraserhead
Stone
5,ooo Fingers Of Dr.T (Dr. Suess designed and wrote it, gunna have ta get it out next week)
spoof movies rawk, especially Get Crazy, the drug crazed version of Flying High. Worthy absurdities include Awesome Lotus, Blondes Have More Guns, Wacko and Chicken Park.
and a personal faves are manga and Hong Kong videos, Sword of Many Loves, Forbidden City Cop, From Beijing With Love, Sixty-Million Dollar Man (incredibly funny that one) Ultimate Teacher and Ranma 1/2 (hell, i'll sit there giggling to pokemon most mornings!)
 
What about Very Bad Things? Sensational film.
The Acid House (from the Irvine Welsh book ) this should be compulsory viewing for kiddies- no glamourising of the drug scene here. Actually, it's really gross, and I will never watch it again!
Run Lola Run- great when your concentration isn't so good as they repeat the story for you. Banging soundtrack.
My favourite TV show (the Bill!) now has a resident copper who is also a d and b DJ, PC Nick Klein.
And talking about realistic portrayals of the scene, how about Tad the DJ at Hemisphere on Neighbours? I'm just waiting for that evil girl Jess to suck Tad into trying some designer drugs.

WHAT LIES BENEATH is good whilst stoned. It scared the shit out of me.
But I'll have to agree with the majority and say that the top spot is a fight between FEAR AND LOATHING IN LAS VEGAS and ALICE IN WONDERLAND.
Has anyone seen SAMPLE PEOPLE? It was filmed in Adelaide, but set in Newtown, and I've heard mixed reviews.
