I have uploaded the PDF to Megaupload so that those that are concerned about visiting a government website do not have to worry about it.

Basically, the DEA has a flow chart and a 56 page PDF of their plans... It lists just about every known psychedelic, stimulant, and dissociative research chemical, automatically classes some of them as direct analogs, some of them as being chemically similar, and some of them as not currently fitting the bill for scheduling through the analog act (4-HO-MET happens to be one of them) - from reading this document though, it seems like they are ready to make a BIG move in the next year... they've got chemicals on there I hadn't even heard of nor even seen for market!

There is actually a nice little list that shows their interest in
5-MeO-AMT
5-MeO-DET
5-MeO-MIPT
4-OH-DIPT
DIPT
2C-I
2C-T-2
DOI
2C-E
2C-C
2C-D
DOC

as their next targets

I saw a docco today on submarines being made in Colombia that are now fully submersible, can travel from Colombia to Miami 9m underwater with up to 20 tonnes of Cocaine, and they worry about RC's.

Ridiculous!

I was actually surprised when I saw the statistics... while I do not agree with scheduling and think people should be free to do as they please, some of them (*AHEM* MDPV) really needed to go... I find it odd that 5-MeO-DET is on that list though since Shulgin himself said it was absolute poison and nobody in their right mind would ever touch it...

Even further there were a few missing unless they used a nomenclature I am not familiar with - APB family, methoxetamine to name two.

They also go into blends showing some that said perfectly legal that still had JWH-018 in them and even one that tested positive for THC itself!

I know this question is an exercise in futility, but I'll pose it anyway: what THE fuck? What is the rationale behind focusing millions of dollars and thousands of hours of human resources to prosecute sales of chemicals that are non-addictive, pose no measurable social problems, and whose use is largely restricted to psychedelic hobbyists. These are not party drugs. They are not drugs that teenagers typically care or even know about.

What is this? Punish the sinner? Trying to find a way to seriously fuck over college students and professionals who like to trip at home once in a while? All the while thousands of kilos of coke and heroin make it over the border everyday, and millions of doses of methamphetamine are produced domestically? Sexual slaves are being smuggled from abroad, millions are unemployed, the economy has been shit for the past 4 years. And this is a government priority?

This is fucking la la land. Go FUCK YOURSELVES.

@Transcendce - Honestly I have personally stopped consuming these substances for health reasons - I am putting it out there so that those that want them can stock up before the DEA cracks down. Traditionally a DHHA order is executed a year to two years after recommendation, HOWEVER, the DEA themselves are the ones involved in the potential scheduling of the substances I outlined which means they can make a release as an emergency in 3-4 months max. Don't shoot the messenger man, I am just here to warn everyone.

And seriously on the sub thing? Are you kidding me? North Korea is working on an ICMB *NOT* for nuclear warfare but for EMP warfare - they want to send us back to the stone age. Hardly any electronics would survive that attack - Cheyenne Mountain would though - and guess what that means? World War III - nuclear winter worldwide...

Makes drug legality seem inconsequential indeed.

Tell me about it... but at least if our government wasn't so concerned about making things that make people happy illegal we could all die watching that plume flow miles away and having the spill out come onto us in a happy state... I know if I was on MDMA and saw a nuclear blast I'd be all like "that sucks man........... shit, I think I'm burning, did you burn me with your cigarette? *CHOKES AND DIES*"

My thoughts exactly.

It's a lot easier for them to schedule a handful of RCs and make a nice big press release about all the schoolchildren's lives they saved in the process 8) than it is for them to go after the cartels.

Not DOC!!! Who clued them in on that?!?!

Seriously though, just about all of those are class A in the UK, and have been for nearly a decade.

@Jesusgreen - I figured it might end up there but not sure because it isn't really "new" news... just nobody goes to the DEA website here very often lol.

And the fact that it specifically mentioned nothing but psychedelics as being up for scheduling I figured why not stick it in PD.

Why? I keep hearing this. People keep going on about how scheduling MDPV and mephedrone was a good thing just because there was a huge craze at one point. Why should the gluttony of some users make it okay for us to let governments infringe on our personal freedoms? I don't care whether some of the substances are somewhat toxic, nor do I care that some people decided to go crazy with them - it is never okay to hand our collective freedoms over to the psychopathic control grid, just because we feel too weak to control our behaviour by ourselves. I don't ever want a nanny state breathing down my neck telling me - an infinite being of light - what I can and cannot do within the confines of their egotistical control structure.

If drug legality was inconsequential willow then the governments wouldn't be caring about it. The fact is they do care, and they spend untold amounts of human resources fighting a battle that they know they will never win outright, but will always keep them on the chessboard.

We can go on forever talking up things that may seem to overshadow the issue of drug legality, but that is purely an indulgent fantasy in apocalyptic scenarios. We still have to do the "inconsequential" things in our daily lives to actuate the change that we want to see in the world, and, actually, it is those so-called inconsequential things that really matter - i.e. personal freedom. It's easy to get sucked in to all the drama on the world stage and diminish the importance of things that are far more personal in nature. It is precicely the cultivation of personal compassion and liberation which will free us from the greater pathological insanity of the global chess game.

Survived Abortion - Do you really think that MDPV in the hands of someone UNEDUCATED about the dangers is a good thing? I am for tolerance and education, not outright banning, but I have a specific distaste for MDPV (almost more than methamphetamine) because of what it does to its users.

235360287471352662 - Carisoprodol was never scheduled, meprobamate was. I know. Idiots since carisoprodol is a pro-drug for meprobamate. It has been freely available and sold on the web for a long time... years and years... from "pharmacies" in the US operating on the internet... I guess they don't know what pro-drugs are. Maybe they should make one for MDMA although you'd need 1-1.5g depending on the chemical being cleaved from it to make it seem like 150-175mg of MDMA itself...

They put a number of drugs on that list that I had never heard of having psychoactive activity and a lot of them are in black... they may have just made a list of the next big thing to come out of China IMO.

As for etigabine, they probably meant RETIGABINE... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Retigabine

If you notice there are some errors in the chart regarding chemical scheduling as well...

^ I think carisoprodol has different action than just being a prodrug for meprobamate... Meprobamate feels quite a bit different.

Those sort of pro-drugs tend to easily degrade into scheduled compounds (think MDMA) when stored improperly. Not plausible or profitable, sadly.

I guess the 5-MeO-T's won't be particularly missed. Would be a shame about the other trypts but you can always pick/grow psiloc(yb)in and extract DMT. Maybe some less well known and interesting phens will come out of it though, 2C-EF, 2C-T-21, 2C-TFM (scheduled already?), 2C-CN, DOCN, psi-2C's and other substitution patterns, thio and/or cyclic mescaline analogs... So thanks for that!

Do you think ANY drug in the hands of an uneducated person is a good thing? To say you're in favor of drug legalization but that MDPV should be banned because it's dangerous seems sort of hypocritical. If it's dangerous, then educate people on it like we would any other drug. Banning it won't be any more effective than banning MJ or mushrooms.
