It's not like I'm planning which songs I'm going to play when, besides I have enough music in the playlist for a 3 hours set now so it's definitely going to be mixing on the fly. I just made the playlist so I don't have to go through my entire music library to find certain songs cause a ton of the music I got I wouldn't play there since the scene is much more bass music instead of trance (which makes up half my music library.)

Ah like that, yeah I do it like that too. There's alot of DJ's "practicing" pre-planned set's out there though lol. Really pisses me off when the crowd is obviously bored and he just keeps playing his crap lol.

there's nothing wrong with putting forethought into a mix, but if the people don't like it obviously you need to be able to think on the fly as well. I like doing mashups and things in my mixes, it's a lot harder to pull that off without knowing what you're supposed to be doing. I aim for perfection when I mix, I care more about how the music sounds rather than my performance
