aww what a great thread... my baby is 26y/o now but i remember everything so clearly.
he was very wanted and very planned. i was clean of everything for 3 months or longer when we made him. i knew exactly when, that he was a boy, that he loved reggae (and still does), that he would love grilled cheese sandwich w/ tomato soup (my only craving and not something i would eat before or since but it's a huge fav of his). i felt great, walked to and from work (2mi each way) cuz i had to and i knew it would help w/ labor and delivery.
i wish we had been able to have another but i had miscarriage troubles and then my husband passed away in an accident.
i kept a journal which is prob my most cherished material possession. a full term healthy pregnancy and a healthy beautiful little boy w/ his daddy's eyes is the greatest experience i'll ever have and the absolutely best thing i'll ever do.
my biggest surprise- i expected that i would have unbelievable pain during the pushing birthing part but for me that was way easier than labor. 3 big pushes and he popped out, easiest part of the whole bit. my doc said all the walking really helped me have an easy birth. labor is called labor for a damn good reason. i remember my hubby was able to see contractions starting on the monitor before i felt them. he said "oh here comes another" about 3 times then i threatened parts of his anatomy if he kept that up.
oh my gosh this has got me all smiling and weepy.
my very best wishes to all of you. such an exciting wonderful time
