Alleged bikie list sent to rival gang
August 6, 2009 - 8:34PM
An alleged Hell's Angels bikie member charged over a fatal brawl at Sydney Airport has been accidentally handed a confidential list of rival gang members.
The Central Court registry faxed the list containing the names and addresses of 46 Comanchero bikie members to alleged Hell's Angels bikie David Padovan at Long Bail jail on July 17, the Seven Network reported.
He was supposed to have received names of members of his own gang who he is banned from seeing.
Padovan, 25, was charged in relation to the March 22 brawl, which spilled onto two levels of the Qantas domestic terminal.
Anthony Zervas, 29, died of injuries he suffered in the brawl.
"It would appear that the wrong list was given to him," Padovan's lawyer Phillip Stewart told Seven News.
Mr Stewart said the list had not been copied and he did not believe possession of it would lead to further violence.
"There is no evidence of any ongoing violence or suggestion that there would be any ongoing violence but we don't want an opportunity created where someone would have the lists of another gang where it could be suggested that something happened as a result of that," he said.
Comancheros lawyer Lesly Randle said the error was disturbing.
"It is potentially dangerous not only to my clients but to their mothers, their fathers, their brothers, their sisters," she said.
Late on Thursday night, she said she did not know where the list was.
"An undertaking was given in court that the list would be returned and not used," Randle told AAP.
"I don't know what the current status of the list is now."
