The Big & Dandy Set and Setting Thread

Well personally, i had a blast.
It felt amazing tripping balls and going down a rollercoaster.
Of course i was sooo scared at first, but at the end of it... its like *sigh* wow.
Totally worth the 1.5 hour wait. Definantly something to experience.

Also, i don't really understand the whole afraid of being 'judged' thing. If you're going to do acid, and 90% of the time nobody realizes it unless you're super loud about it or make it really obvious. So why not just enjoy yourself? I've never had a bad trip, so I don't get it.

Many friends of mine have tripped LSD at amusement parks and reported to have had amazing times, but I would definately not want to drop really strong LSD in that kind of setting personally, a lower than normal dose is what I would do personally. good luck!

a massive aquarium would be ace.. one o those water tunnels on L %)

my second time (on cid, done mushrooms before) began in a science and industry museum, also strolled through some markets in Chinatown..

fun/crazy shit! :D

my sister went to disneyworld on a 7th grade school field trip and did lsd there. she said it was pretty fun. also said it was not as intimidating as it would seem.

Im considering trying this in a month or so.. i think it'd be pretty fun. Im usually fine around crowds while tripping, its only when i have to communicate with someone that i have trouble lol.

I blacked out on the Goliath at Sixflags. It was crazy. ha ha ha but fun of course!

I took two Gerry Garcia, one Grateful Dead, and a drop of liquid in each eye.

^ To be fair though LSD and mushrooms are two very different experiences.

Very true, shrooms, you are along for the ride it gives you mostly, lsd, you can direct it somewhat.

I do not like mush very much anymore. It gets old.
Acid on the other hand? I love it.
I like it because my mind isn't thinking about a billion things at the same time, and my reaction isn't as slow.

There was a day where I could be flying colors with my world upside down and I didn't have a care in the world where i was. As I grew up a little bit I just cant seem to handle psychs in crowded situations any more.... just cant get over that paranoia. Camping is where its at :D

That's a very titillating idea but I prefer to stick to places I can wear sunglasses if I'm going to be tripping out in public.

When I drop acid, I look and act like I'm on drugs.

That's one of the principle reasons I use drugs. They alter my perceptions and thus, my behavior. I am condescendingly amused by people who's attitude is "Yo man, no one can tell I'M on drugs - I act totally cool!" One has to be consciously aware of one's attempt to behave in a manner that, due to the chemical(s) ingested, does not feel natural. To me, that sounds like a big fucking drag. Taking drugs so that I can pretend I haven't...? Pass.

I remember those situations from my childhood, but they're long gone now. Getting stoned on pot, for example, then trying desperately not to giggle as mom comes around the corner. Pretending not to be stoned sometimes added to the fun; the fun of being naughty.

Again, in my thirties now, I can't really relate to that aspect of psychoactive drug use, but I do understand it.

As you get older, you become more interested in the trip itself (aspects of introspection, self-therapy, etc), and less interested in, for example, playing or going on rides during the trip, and what you look like/how people see you.

An acid trip and a trip to an amusement park seem, to me, to be two very different experiences. I'm taking my kids to the fair next Thursday THEN, on the following weekend, I'll be eating some phenethylamines - without wading through pizza vomit, screaming kids, and an environment created, primarily, to amuse young children with shiny things.

For the most part, I get the feeling I'm too old for many of these discussions.

Word, me to. But I just don't think anyone notices that I'm acting like that. And even if they do notice I just don't think they care. And even if they do care, what are they going to do about it?

My advice is go to the park early on a weekday towards either the beginning or end of the season in order to avoid the crowds and be able to get on the rides faster.

honestly this sounds like a question someone who has not yet tripped on lsd before would ask. (not trying to be mean or anything)

but since you said you have tripped several times before, only you would possibly know if it would be a good idea or not. even if every single person in this thread said it would be an awesome idea, if you are the type who likes to be alone while tripping hard (peaking) or gets nervous around crowds, than obviously this would not be a good idea.

you know how your body reacts to lsd, so just sit for a second and decide for yourself... this is one of those questions where I honestly don't think you should let some other person's opinion affect you. some of the advice about bringing your own food and drinks etc. are good, but only you know if you would enjoy this.

though, this is just my opinion lmao

Well obviously only i would know if it is a good idea to trip or not at an amusement park, because everyone trips differently. I just wanted to see what other people thought of the idea.

I ate shrooms on a Ferris Wheel at Bonnaroo... It was AWESOME. These guys in the bucket in front of us had on masks turned around backwards, and I said, "Ahhh, I just ate shrooms and your mask is scaring me!" He said "It's supposed to be weird!" I said "Yah, it is that too!"

Do it, take drugs and ride rides, it's fun.

I tried this before and I went crazy, literally. It was just too much. I thought it would just be like any other time, so I dosed as normal and got my ass kicked. It was at six flags, and I went on Xtreme first thing. It was the most intense thing ever and shot me into utter insanity. My friends dragged me around and avoided trouble by saying I was autistic. They kept putting me on roller coasters though. Waiting in line is unbearable and the roller coasters are crazy as fuck. While sitting in a roller coaster that was about to begin I threw my wallet at the cealing of the ride and all my change went flying everywhere. I expected something to happen, but the ride operators just picked it up and gave it to me. I thought they should have kicked me off the ride, so I convinced myself I was in a dream.
