I didn't know it was that bad of a drug
It's not inherently a BAD DRUG. It is actually physically one of the safest known psychedelics out there. The reason people are telling you to be careful is because it is an EXTREMELY INTENSE PSYCHEDELIC. It can be much more intense than LSD or mushrooms. And it only lasts 10-15 min. It is a natural plant that grows in the ground and the active compound is Salvinorin-A, which in pure form is active at 200 micrograms.
Salvia breakthroughs (usually to break through, you have to smoke an extract, i.e. 10x, 20x, 40x) can be the most intense experiences in one's life. They are very bizarre experiences. The reason it's not illegal (yet) is because it doesn't have any addiction potential. In fact, for a lot of people it has the opposite effect -- they'll try it, and be scared so shitless that they never want to do it again. It happens so fast, and you are catapulted into another world, one of total chaos. The experience is much harder to integrate (apply the experience to your life) than other psychedelics such as mushrooms, LSD, DMT, mescaline, or ketamine. For me, the experience happens SO fast and it's so chaotic and bizarre that I can't make all that much sense out of it. It's
definitely not a party/recreational/social drug in my opinion, it is for deep inner exploration and spiritual work.
The USA
is trying to make it illegal though. It's been used for 1000s of years by Mexican shamans.
