went into the headshoppe the other day to pick some up. i cannot believe how insanely the price has climbed since i first tried it.
i decided 'fuck it'
the bang is not worth the buck and the likelihood i'd get the bang isn't 100% like any other substance i would shell out for.
i dont hate salvia but i can't say i enjoy it either. i'd been wanting to reestablish a relationship with it but unless i learn to extract myself, i'm afraid i'm not ready to do so.

can there be a big and dandy salvia growing thread?
two of my plants have died so far, they are so fucking difficult to grow. anyone who is an expert on how to do it should post a detailed guide, (i know there are a bunch online but something is still going wrong...more info is needed)

i doubt it would not be allowed, as it is not a crime to grow salvia in most places.
my first plant dried up, i stupidly did not put it in soil for a day and by the time it was planted it shriveled up and dried out.
the second plant was put in soil (with a half dose of an acidifying additive) immediately, the soil was sprayed liberally as were the leaves and a misted bag was placed over the plant. i continued to give the plant thorough mistings for two days, misting the bag, leaves and soil. it looked pretty good, but some leaves fell off (i assumed this was from damage in shipping) on the fourth day after waking up i found the plant totally limp like a wet noodle, i took the bag off of it hoping it might 'dry out' a bit but when i returned a few hours later it was totally shriveled and gone.

so, i only saw one post on taking salvia orally....
my question is- how many mgs would you take orally the first time?
a friends said he took 10mgs and it did nothing so he tried 20mgs and it was pretty ok....
i am thinking about starting at 50mgs just to avoid dissapointment...

so, i just checked erowid and did a search for oral salvia....
seems that it is a much more mellow experience....
from what i read tho, it seems to be taken in a tincture form.
what i can buy here is a capsule of extract....
is there any difference?

Don't buy any form of "salvia" that you're supposed to swallow in a capsule. It's a scam. Salvinorin A is not active orally, even at ridiculous levels. For more on tinctures, use google to search bluelight by entering the following: salvia tincture site:bluelight.ru

I want to share my experience briefly to add to the thread. My first attempt wasn't at all what i expected(as always). I bought 30x from my local vendor and the way i prepared myself to use it was foolish(but perfect) because i had no idea what i was getting into. I had this great idea to wear earplugs AND these big headphones(noise canceling) while being underneath a blanket. To make things more interesting i loaded at least 1/3 of a gram of the stuff into my pipe. I also had this tea that was a mixture of like 15 different herbs(don't remember what kind) that i would drink right after. Well..
After i killed the whole bowl in one go I held it in only for 15secs and proceeded to take a huge gulp of my tea. With the earplugs and headphones on i threw the blanket on me. The walls/furniture were already warping before i got totally under my blanket. What followed this I'm not fully aware so ill try to explain as most of what i can.
I remember being in the presence of this Being( He had big mustache and top hat/costume) and black penetrating eyes. I also felt a presence of many beings there with me(aspects of myself?) The language they communicated was felt telepathic/intuitive like...in which they told me to follow along. It felt like a melody/song was being played to start off this process that was commencing. I just remember this dome type dimension that was in constant motion. Felt like i was going through a "process" and as I experienced these realities of thought, there would be a transition/transformation where everything would form into a new reality(reminds me of a pop-up book)
I would find myself part of something else, like i had to be in a certain place for this flipping of realities to align( like a huge page was being turned)
The last thing i remember was that while in the next transition i was part of this rotating wall. Of course there where other beings before and after me while a being on the side was ensuring us to proceed and not resist. Well as i my time was coming to emerge on this other side i sensed that there was this big game show and this wall i was on..was going to rotate and i would be in front of all these people. I think that's when the fear really kicked in because i never would want to be on a game show. So i resisted and found myself stuck in the process.
This is when i threw of my blanket and found myself in my room with my brother looking at me. I thought he was part of that world telling me it was ok and not to fight it. Half my room looked like puzzle pieces that were coming apart and i can see that other dimension just beyond my room through the cracks. I put my hand on the wall and it felt like i became the wall and saw the inside and outside at the same time. I laid back on my bed and felt like i was sinking into( i could feel rough fabric engulfing me). I got really scared and tried to jump out the window then tried to run out the room..both times my brother wrestled me back onto my bed.
This is when i became aware of myself and then kept on repeating "What the fuck was that!" for a few minutes. It gave me a new perspective on life and how there are dimensions of realities right within the space between me and the space...always in motion..always a process going on in and around us. I'm sure my trip was a level 5 in salvia space. After that i tried many low doses and it always reminds me of what i experienced. hope some of that made sense...to this day i still try to remember my salvia trip

I just enheirited 2 large plants from a friend who is leaving for a half-year juourney around the globe.
I want to keep these plants in the best possible shape; he dropped them with me because I have a reputation as a green thumb, Consequently I've gained 9 living green creatures who depend on me for support and for looking their best.
Two have them have unveiled themselves as salvia plants. WelL... I do have designs on these two. But they are in appalling state. Grown way out as well as being challenged by vermin and ill-nutrition/phyto-neglect.
So I know how to prune down a similar grown-out parlor tree/shrub/plant, the challenge it seems to me is to cut them down, way below their over-grown arms and cultivate the smaller, healhtier buds and leaf growths around the bottom stems of the plant, until they shoot up as tighter, healthier, and more directed shoots.
I'm a little fucked up between russian vodka, mauritanian hash, opium balls and tiny quids of salvia that I am using to approach the plant.
** If you feel in any way inspired to comment on the practice of chewing small quids in succession to achieve a different salvia high, let me know. That's what I've been pursuing, on the advice of a non-computer-using salvia freak.

So ive tried salvia twice and both times it was the thunderbolt 25x which is pretty strong stuff. But i didnt like the trips much they were filled with confusion and with the question of wait what????? I would stare as all my friends would be staring at me and i would think to my self what they want with me and it would be a pretty difficult trip but i wouldnt like panic or anything. Now im wondering if i will be able to handle lsd, only 1 tab of course and i bet it wouldnt be potent stuff. So what do u guys think, is salvia more intense than lsd for the 5-10 min it lasts or do you think that lsd is much more intense and trippy. Also do you think i would be able to control my trip and take it where i want it to go or would it take control of me and put me in complete confusion like salvia did.

I've never known a psyche (or any other drug) as intense as salvia. Salvia is interesting, but a long way from recreational or enjoyable. LSD is so much more mellow - recreational, enjoyable, spititual - whatever you choose to take from it. It's a whole other world. LSD is fun, salvia is hard work. Obviously LSD can be a headfuck too in the wrong situation, but salvia is almost always a headfuck in any situation :D.

I think Salvia is more intense, which isn't surprising, as it tends to put you into another world quite effectively.
A small dose of acid will not do that. However, the acid will last longer and have a profoundly different psychological effect. Everything will probably be quite normal, but it will still feel really weird. To me, it's often like an intense form of psychoanalysis, which may effect anxiety. It can also be quite blissful if I take the time to relax and make myself comfortable. Like all long-lasting psychedelics, it makes me seriously aware of my body and mind, and I feel a heavy responsibility for my own well-being.
On Salvia, while it may be intense, I usually don't have time to think about anything before I get lost into a fantanstic imaginary world, and in that sense, I don't feel gravely responsible and introspective like I do on LSD.
Thus, I would say that you can't really know before you've tried both. For me, it's often the "less intense" experiences that are more challenging.
