I’m going to be attempting my first DMT extraction soon and I think I have a pretty good idea of what to do, but would like some input from people who have done it before. I realize there are already well written teks but some of the terms are confusing to me so I thought I'd write it out in my own words just to be clear.
Ingredients
• MHRB powder 100g
• Water- 1.5 liters
• 150g lye-

• Naphtha- 150ml

*Note: I will increase the volume if my first try is successful
Tools
• A one gallon pickle jar for the main part of the extraction.
• Three quart jars to freeze the naphtha
• A plastic turkey baster to siphon the naphtha off
(is there anything that works better and can be made/ bought cheap)
• Coffee filters to filter out the crystals once they have crystallized in the freezer.
• A rubber spatula and ice-pick to get any stubborn crystals out of the jar.
• Rubber gloves and plastic goggles
• Vinegar in case of spills
Method
• Start by adding the Lye and water to the gallon jar, stirring until dissolved.
• Add the MHRB to the gallon jar, shake, and let sit for 20 minutes
(should I wait longer?)
• Heat the naphtha by sealing it in a jar and putting it in a pot of heated (but not quite boiling) water for 15 minutes.
• Add the naphtha to the gallon jar and shake vigorously every ten minutes for 30 minutes. Then use the turkey baster to siphon off the naphtha and put it into the quart jars. (repeat three times so all three jars are full)
• Put the quart jars in the freezer overnight.
(should I wait longer? does shaking periodically help?)
• The next day take the jars out and quickly filter the contents through a coffee filter. Scrape out any residue that sticks to the inside of the jar with an ice-pick and spatula.
• Save the used naphtha for future extractions.
Please comment on anything you think I could change/improve. I have no knowledge off chemistry so use noob friendly terminology please. :D
